Who's Bursting Your Bubble ?

Who's bursting your bubble ? Well ? A friend, family member or some random person that decided you needed to hear what they had to say ? I may well interchange bubble and balloon, the metaphor still stands.

Remember when you were young and you were given a balloon to play with. Such joy it bought you, simple pleasures. Then someone came along and thought it would be fun to pop it for you. Then all the delight was theirs. They enjoyed your misery. Sad but true.

Guess what ? Those that enjoyed inflicting misery on you as a child, grow up into to adults and do the same. They might not do it maliciously and in most cases they have 'tempered' down their desire to inflict suffering but it all stems from the same portfolio. One of negativity.

Even on here, dare I say it. You've all seen it. The worst thing is when one person says something then 'they' all come out of the woodwork. Studies show that negativity is contagious, I have no argument with that. To what end ? Why does any of it have to have 'not' 'can't' 'don't' or 'won't' in it ? How about looking for positive outcomes, ideas that will benefit rather than stories of how bad 'whatever' it is. 'Yes' 'you can' 'do it' or 'I will' are all much better.

I'm not even sure where this post came from but I do know that serendipity lent a hand. I had either read a post on here or on a website, where someone had quoted Joseph Lalonde. If it was you, then I thank you. Another arrow to the quiver of success. Why was this important to the writing of this ?

The idea had come to me over the last couple of days and this morning I had come up with a title. I'm not going to cite it here as it will draw conclusions that will be misleading, hence the title that we now have. Anyway, I Googled my original title to see if it 'existed' out there and indeed it did. Well, the same words, just in a different order. The article was by Joseph Lalonde. To coincidental for me to pass up.

So here we are. All in this together or at least sharing a commonality of the platform itself. Mistakes being made, advice being given, ideas being hatched and success being sought. Anything else ? Possibly. All of these areas should be met with positivity. If we are to believe that the key to our success is to find the 'problem' of our audience and offer them a solution, then that is a positive way of creating a successful business.

"There are other methods and ways but we have found that these are the best ones"

"I've never tried that particular program, I'm sure it works for some"

"You may well be right, it's an interesting idea."

"Considering you've only been doing this for a short time, you've made a promising start"

I have no place in my life for negativity of any sort. I don't hold it against people, that in itself is just adding to it. Misery loves company as they say. I read plenty that is divisive and, in my opinion, unwarranted. One thing I don't do, is add to it. For some reason that just excites the situation.

My motto, well one of them, is to "Think twice, before saying nothing"

If someone bursts your balloon, just go and get another one. Don't give them the pleasure of seeing you react. The chances are, they don't have a balloon and probably never will.

Maybe it's an opportunity for you help solve their problem, stranger things have happened.

Rather than me ply you with loads of quotes, here's one to test your resolve, it works if you know of the person quoting, otherwise it's just a nice sentence.

"The best way of removing negativity is to laugh and be joyous." David Icke.

You are right...negativity does us no good. Therefore, I shall laugh and be joyous.

It is interesting, isn't it, that often all it takes is one negative comment and tons more come crashing down on top of that one. Why is it so much harder to turn off negativity than it is to turn on positivity?

Hi Fran, that question is above my pay grade. However, if I had to offer a reasonable explanation then it would be along the lines of: Our brains 'default' is one of protection of 'life'. Propagating the 'gene'. Therefore one could argue that if our natural demeanour is one of not taking risks and evaluating everything on the basis that 'if it could go wrong, it will go wrong, so we shouldn't do it.' Then it would follow that our general stance is one of negativity.
So, you are correct in saying that it is harder to be positive and that would be because we have to 'try.' whereas being negative comes more naturally. This is of course just my humble opinion.
As with everything, there are exceptions to the rule and when we meet those people they are a joy to be with. For the rest of us, we have to work at it. Worth the effort though.

Twack, you nailed it. I do not know why, but someone is always trying to burst my nurse becca bubble. Today, it was another hit from someone I dearly admire and I was asked if I am still "Wasting My Time" here at Wealthy Affiliate.
I am sure trolls would love to see me dissappear just like the remnants of surfactant that once held the bubble suspended against gravity. But there are people whom I inspire and help here and I love that. I gotta go or I'll be late but I wanted to thank you for filling up my bubble dish with new soapy water.
Sincerely,
Nurse Becca

A Fighter Squirrel for the Trolls for you!

Shaunna's brought the 'big guns' out. No Bubble Bursting happening here.
Thank you and don't be late.

I like your think twice quote Twack. That's one for the records

Thanks Mike. Definitely one to 'try,' at least, to adhere to. It doesn't always happen but the intent is there.

Thank you for this mornings inspiration Twack. People who have given up on life tend to think you're stupid when you keep trying to do better. That's their choice it does not have to be ours, we can just keep buying a new balloon. Never give up hope.
Thanks again.
Ray

I'm right there with you Ray. Balloons should never be in short supply. Happy that you dropped by and left such a great comment, thank you.

Wow good post with a quote from madman Icke...

Thanks Dave.
Words form the man himself.
“They all think I’m mad, you know. But imagine being called sane in a world of such insanity? What a nightmare!”

In actual fact, he speaks a lot of sense and his website is something else

I looooove that quote...stealing it

This is really food for thought here. Funny enough, I just commented on a blog that in making my content personal I tend to lean towards the positive experience. My resolution was to spice it up with the negative one as well.

Still, I believe that if we take the negative out of the negative (someone, said that) we will go very far. For a community to stand strong, this is the way forward.

That's a great way of looking at it Carol. I know it's not always possible to out a positive 'spin' on everything but it has to be worth it being our first choice, I think.

I created a fairly impenetrable Bubble many years ago! It's MY bubble, and I'm going to keep it!

Bubble Bursters... I actually feel sorry for them, as they will never know the true Joy of the Dream Accomplishment.

S

Ooo, I like 'Bubble Bursters' or 'Busters' that works for me. In truth, as much as I can empathise, I don't 'get it'. Hey ho, we're all different but it is a choice, in my eyes.

Watch out, Shauna. There's someone out there that's just gotta let a rebid squirrel loose to bite your balloon.

LOL... Nah, I'll just leave a nut trail!!

This post brings to mind
'Get off of My Cloud'...

"Just 'cause you feel so good
Do you have to drive me out of my head?"
Nicely done S.

This is just what I needed to read this morning! thank you for sharing! It's greatly appreciated!

That's just about the perfect response. Thank you Randi, I'm pleased you've read and enjoyed. Hope you don't mind but I've taken this opportunity to 'follow' you. Have a most excellent day.

BOOM!

Prof Dr Twack.

Thank you for your post, the point you have made are not only obvious for all of us as a community but also the best advice for our collective mindset in finding balance and harmony.

Blessings!

Back with a BANG Gabriel.
Yes indeed, let us hope so.
