Two For The Price Of One (I Am A Money Magnet)
"I am a money magnet, I am a money magnet, I am destined to have an abundance of love and prosperity in my life." Oops, sorry about that, I'm listening to a guided meditation track whilst typing, now that's a proper 'two for the price of one', at least for me.
Actually, that's not the reason for the title. Something has just occurred to me and I wanted to share the thought, you never know, it might resonate with you, we'll see.
Having performed car related duties for my eldest while he's at work, I have come back to the computer with a need to write something but I was faced with a slight dilemma in that as I wasn't sure where to write.
Yesterday I managed a post on one my other sites after a lapse of nearly four weeks, so remiss of me. I did make a promise to myself that I will make a concerted effort to write more regularly. With that in mind , today I had an idea for a post and then realised that I wanted to write here as well.
What's a man to do ? Then I was hit with a thought, not quite a light bulb moment but close.
How many times have you written something and then, through the wonders of modern technology, lost the lot ? You accidentally hit the wrong key on the keyboard and 'poof' away it went, lost in the never ending ether wilderness of lost words.
When this happens and after we have 'expleted' our way past the sadness, we then have to start again, trying as we might to recreate the sublime, yet it is nigh on impossible to duplicate those perfect prose. It would seem that there is always a little something missing.
In fairness, most times we write from our mind's eye, the words flowing forth, seemingly with a will of their own and needing very little help from the creative part of our grey matter, so it's not like there's a script for us to refer back to, something we might have already read and has been retained.
Nope, there's none of that, we just have to hope that the cogs engage in the same order they did the first time round but in reality, we know they won't, but wait, that's actually a good thing.
Why ? Well, now you can write two posts on the same subject, so in effect you're getting 'two for the price of one'. I mean you could try to work through the first one and change a few words here and there but in truth, that never works out well, not unless you've used all the wrong words the first time round and you're swapping them out for better ones.
It's not a matter of whether one is better than the other, they will just be different, you may even find that the second one takes on a new lease of life and delivers yet another unique persepctive on your original idea.
So, to recap, you have an idea for a post, you expand that idea in the form of a blog post, you publish it. Then, using the same idea, you write another post and this one turns out different (and sometimes better) to the first one, simples.
That's where we get 'two for the price of one', sweet. I think I shall call the next post 'second times a charm', though that is a bit of a cleché.

I know what you mean about losing data. How many times have I promised myself that I'll save that in a minute and boom, all gone. You are right, its such a difficult task to recreate it. Even five minutes work is almost impossible.

It happens all too often, although nowadays there seem to be better 'autosave' facilities but they don't always work if you instigate the loss.
It quite often happens when it's either really important, on a deadline, or something that you're really proud of.
Thank you, Rosana and you're right, certainly stand a better chance when you start from scratch second time round, rather trying to 'alter' the first one.

I also say "I'm a money magnet" followed by "I attract money everywhere I go" and "all the money I use comes back to me multiplied." I am forever grateful for the infinite sources of meditations and affirmations on YouTube, otherwise I would probably never get to them. They do work, well, you know they do :-)
It happened to me only once that I lost part of my translation, on my old computer. I was mad! Hope that will never happen again.
Btw, I think your titles are amazing, they often look mysterious.

Thank you, Lenka, I always feel as though they're an afterthought, in fact, recently I have been writing before I have chosen a title and seeing how that does.
Anyway, one hundred percent agree, it certainly changes something and as I don't believe in coincidences, it has to be the thoughts we are putting out.
I am currently listening to some that trick your brain into thinking you've had sleep, now I was dubious to start with but lately, I have been able to focus past my normal 10.45 pm' pumpkin time', which is a real revelation, as usually, I'm good for nothing at that time of night.😴💤
Interesting! I could do with something tricking my brain into thinking that getting up early is the simplest thing ever. Lol.
