Twacks First Valuable Share In Week One

Depending on what I'm attempting to achieve or do, will decide how I approach it. In essence, I will go at it from one of two directions. As part of the second assignment of the SAC we have to share something of value, in a blog, once a week. So this is Twacks valuable share in week one.

Shall we have a sidebar first ? Of course we must, it wouldn't be one of my blogs if I didn't digress. With a finger on the pulse of the WA you can sense that there will be some mixed reactions to the second stage. It's a fair old list and there are some areas on there that I am sure are going to cause some head scratching.

Do not fear, do not panic. There is plenty of time. I've only had a skim through at present and I know that there will be a few things that I will need some help and advice on. Probably more than a few. Luckily for me and you, we are in a community whose number one strength is being able to help. Not only that, there are some incredible writers/bloggers here on the platform that are putting out daily content that is full of motivational, inspirational and insightful thoughts and ideas. I highly recommend taking a moment or two each day just to have a peruse through some of them. They will help in ways you hadn't thought possible.

NB. 12000 words of content is less than 300 per day between now and the end of this stage.

NB. You actually have 41 days between now and the end of this stage of the challenge.

Best get back to the valuable bit. Bad eggs float in water. You're welcome. Actually, that's not one hundred percent true but it's not a bad indicator. I don't eat eggs so they can float or not, bothered not.

Where was I ? How I approach certain things. Two ways, one easy, one hard. Like I said, it depends on what it is. I have a 'word game' on my phone which I drop onto now and then. Normally if I'm waiting in the car to pick someone up. As you can imagine, with four adolescents, I probably play quite a bit. Each 'round' you have a group of letters and the idea is find all the words the game wants you to find. There might be one seven letter word and then all the others, including three letter words. Sound easy ? For the most part it is, so I make it more of a challenge by starting with the longest word first and I'm not allowed to move onto the next until I have it. Sometimes you spot it straight away, on occasion I have been on the same seven letters for a week. This is one way I approach certain things. Why make it harder ? Well because when I have done the hard part everything else will be easier. Does it save any time or make me more efficient, no idea. Does it keep me more motivated, Yes, I think so. Once you have conquered something difficult you have a sense that anything is possible.

Then we have the opposite end of the spectrum. Do the easy stuff first. I am more inclined to use this method when faced with multiple tasks. Like we have now, on stage two of the challenge. There are twenty one separate tasks to complete. Gosh, that counts as 'multiple' in my book, what can I do make that list shrink ? Obviously some of them will only be completed in conjunction with associated tasks, others are on a time schedule, like this blog. One a week. I could do the next four and 'save' them, if I wanted to.

This morning I ticked off three of the boxes. Now my tasks are down to eighteen and I still have forty-one days to complete them. Yay.

I'd be interested to see what other ways there are out there and how you tackle 'challenges' multiple or otherwise.

I have also 'stretched' myself by doing something outside of my comfort zone, that will help me 'grow'. It's a self-deprecating thing that I won't bore you with. Needless to say, these are my own 'take' on things and are by no means definitive but I hope that some of you will find value in them.

Be well.

Interesting question...
I tend to mix it up. I make myself finish a hard thing first then let myself do an easy (or more desirable) thing as a reward.
Whatever works for you is what’s best, no right or wrong answer here.

Total agreement. Sometimes I enjoy the challenge, other times I just need to get on with it.

Week One: Valuable sharing... accomplished!

Look outside your comfort-zone and identify alternative ways that can work for you. Sound advice, many thanks, Sue :)

You're welcome Sue and thank you. Try something and if it doesn't suit, change it, try again, continue until you have success.

Onward...I am so glad to know that bad eggs float in water. I will put that in my next blog as a salient fact...lol...

Yep, back to the list. I haven't even gotten all the way through the introductory letter...but I do have two posts written; did them both yesterday. One about cats and one for my WA blog.

Gotta go read some more.

I wasn't aware that the reason they float is because of a build up of air that makes its way into the egg via the porous shell. Though I believe other theories are available. Nicely done with the two blogs, ahead of the game.

Great sharing!

Keep that going.

Cheers.

I will, I will. Most definitely. Thank you.

Comfort Zone... LOL. What is that? Where can I find one? Do you have an Affiliate link for that?

I took someones recent advice and went straight to the manufacturer. They're based just outside Shangri-La.

🤣

This is not meant to offend, but I have taken to referring to you as the wacky twackster. But that’s never here nor there; I’m giving serious thought to trying to take different approaches to similar tasks. I’ve always taken the same approach to whatever the task at hand. Not because of any great accomplishment at which I can proudly point - none come to mind. It’s a matter of fear of leaving the comfort zone. Can you imagine what could have been accomplished if mankind/womankind hadn’t created the comfort zone? But we always do it this way! SO?

'The Wacky Twackster'. Has a nice ring to it. One of Batmans' evil foes. We've got plenty to get into, no harm in trying something new, see how it goes. If we never try ?

Awesome post - thanks a lot for sharing, Twack!
Wish you great success!
Bob

Yay Bob, always a pleasure, thank you.

Thanks Twack!

You're welcome Jane, nice to see you .
