Dear Diary,

I know it's been a while since I shared my day with you but I've been so busy, I just haven't had enough time. Please don't pout, I'm here now and 'm sure you'll like what I have to tell you, it will make up for my neglecting you.

No, I can't come closer, you'll just have to listen harder. I am respecting the guidance and will remain two metres away at all times. It doesn't matter that you're a diary, it's what we have to do, Mr. Johnson said so. Such unfortunate initials, it must have been hard for him at school.

Anyway, let me tell you about my day, it's been such fun, all that was missing was 'Lashings of ginger beer' and a trip to the cove. I wouldn't have gone though, even if Peter, Janet, Jack, Barbara, George, Pam and Colin had begged me. I am being good, though not every one is. I did hear that there were loads of people going to the seaside, like they were on holiday, I ask you. They are silly, that's for sure.

Mr. B. was not happy about it, I can tell you. He got proper shirty and said that if there were any more reports of such behaviour, he would be forced to take further measures. Not sure what that meant, maybe he was going to stop the ice cream vans from being on the promenade. Some people just don't listen.

Talking of not listening, what about this. I went shopping this morning, special treat, though I was brave and went on my own. I arrived just after opening time, at about ten past ten. How daft am I, should have got there an hour earlier, like the dozens of others that were there. Still had to queue to get in. I was expecting the security guard to say "Names not on the list" but he didn't.

'Bo Jo' (Shh, don't tell him I called him that) isn't going to like that, especially seeing as he told everyone to stop panic buying. Why don't people listen, and not only that, look at everyone. I couldn't see any 'social distancing' going on, that's what they're calling it.

Anyway, after I got home, I heard someone on the radio and they were crying, It was sad. The lady was a 'Critical Care Nurse' and had just come off a 48-hour shift, gone shopping and couldn't even buy some of the basic stuff like fruit or vegetables. I wish people would be more considerate.

What else dear diary ? I did some chores and then moved 3204 tins of dog food from the dining room and restacked them outside.

I couldn't leave them like that though, I had to wrap them up all cosy.

Doing all that lifting has tired me out diary. I think it's time for me to have some hot milk (Soya of course) as 'my eyes draw straws' and it's time for me to go up the wooden steps to the 'Land of Nod'

Good night dear diary, sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.

You never stop surprising me Twack (and I guess not only me). Must have been a good workout for sure.
I'm trying to figure out the grammar behind "don't the bad bugs bite." Is it meant to be "don't let the bad bugs bite you?"
Grammar and me, you know. I have to have everything straight and clear. Maybe I have grammar OCD :)

Sorry Lenka, that was an error on my part, which I have now amended, so thank you.
It should have read "Don't let the bed bugs bite". Just one of those bedtime sayings.

Yeah I think I've heard it but was not sure how exactly the saying was. Thank you!

Very welcome.

What a day in the life of the Great Twack! We are all caught up with the panic buying, no one really listens hard!

Stay safe, my friend! Your dog is assured though of his/her almighty food!

Are you still sleeping? What else is in your diary, Share again, please!

Florentino

Thank you Florentino for such kind words.
Yes, the dogs are sorted for a month or two, which is a relief.
I used to keep a daily log of everything but it became a chore and when I started here, it was an ideal opportunity to lay it to rest.
Maybe every once in a while will work.

Well I was missing you! Where is that Twack fellow? First I found myself getting addicted to his whimsical writing style, and then he doesn't show up. Anyways, I am also glad you are back.

What's with the ton of dog food anyhow? Sure enough they don't make cans like they used to. They start rusting outside, could be bad for the pups.
Twack is one of a kind, and that's a good thing.
Suzay

!00% I agree, one of a kind indeed! \👍⭐✨\🙏

Twack makes me laugh, heavy on the Wack, yes? So funny. I still want to know about the dogfood? Over here someone would rip off the tires, but this is Arizona, lot's of folk are "packing," a gun that is, so a varmint might die of lead poisoning.
Suzay

Thank you Suzay.
Hopefully with all the packing and the cover, they'll remain rust free.
I'm still here, just not posting daily, as I was before..

I must admit I was shocked to have to queue to get into the supermarket last week. but we went about the same time as you.
I could hardly carry my pack of a dozen eggs and some fruit, plus milk for my daughter.
They all looked at me like I was weird as they stood there guarding overflowing trolleys.

That was a lot to move Twack not surprised you were tired, sleep tight.

I think we're going to try some of the smaller shops for some of the necessaties as everyone seems to be having the same idea for the supermarkets.
It's ironic but the one thing we are starting to run low on, is dog food, having found out the hard way that dry food is the right food, we're reluctant to try anything else. We'll see, it may be a case of 'needs must'

We have a small local Co Op and they have the basics there. Even managed to get my daughter 2 packs of pasta as she was right out.
They are the best places to try. Good luck.

We have a couple of Co-Ops locally, I shall try them out.

Our Aldi today had loads of full shelves, meat, veggies, dairy, bread etc. They did not have eggs though, the very thing I went for.

As everyone is less likely to be out, the shelves should fill up, gradually.
