To Good Not To Mention

When something is too good not to mention, we have a tendency not to mention it. We don't do this on purpose, it just that we get distracted and before you know it, it's gone from the font of your mind and has been thrown, headlong into the bubbling cauldron of the sub-conscious.

So, just now I made the decision to just write in the hope that I manage to get it all down before I forget.

Unusually, I was on top of things this morning, and then I hit a diversion, now I'm trying to find out where I am so that I can get back to where I was.

Well, I'm here but I wasn't here before. I have been to drop an EBay sale off at the courier's 'drop-off' point. It was the best sale of the month, not from a monetary point of view (£2.52 profit) but because I was in two minds whether to throw the item away or not.

Kept it, listed it and made a small amount of money but it all adds up, a bit like commissions 😉. Yes, it's great to get the big ones but if you can keep the accountant happy with regular small ones, then that's good as well. Top tip for the day, don't say I never give you anything.

That actually ties in nicely with Dave's (@Davehayes) post from this morning. Commission Received $68.92 Check it out and you'll see what I mean.

Where was I ? Multi-tasking, that's where. On the way to drop said parcel off, I made a quick stop at the 'tip' or 'Waste Reclamation Complex'. The first week of the 'lock down' the bins weren't collected and it's taken until today to clear the back log.

On my return, I was pulling up to the house and a track came on the radio and the first line has to be one of the best out there.

"Tumble outta bed and I stumble to the kitchen. Pour myself a cup of ambition"

Courtesy of Dolly Parton and '9 to 5'. It is such a great lyric, I felt I had to share it with you. Do with it what you will.

That's the thing about words, we can hear them or read them but it's up to us what we do with them. So many times we do nothing, which is a shame. Like my report card said, many times, 'Could do better'

Well, not me, not this year. This year is about change and action. If the universe talks, the first thing you need to do is listen to what it has to say, then decide if there is a course of action you should take that would be different had you not heard whatever it was that was said. Follow ?

Yesterday, during a comment exchange, Lenka (@LenkaSophie) mentioned and recommended a book, 'The Alchemist' by Paulo Coelho. Now, ordinarily we might store that away for another time, under the heading 'Books to read', rarely would we immediately go and find a copy and start reading.

Not tonight Josephine, tonight we dine with words. You see, I had already heard the name of the book mentioned, not even a couple of days ago. Twice in as many days ? Time to listen and take action. I have downloaded the PDF and will make a point of starting to read it, today.

One more share before I try to blag a salad sandwich. I have been doing quite a bit with YouTube of late, a bit of a side project, if you like. I will be sharing that at a later date, once I've had the nod from the powers that be.

So, when I had a notification come through that Martin (@Mcb247) had just uploaded some training on getting more subscribers on YouTube, I made sure I kept it. This morning I had chance to watch 'How To Reach Your First 1000 Subscribers On YouTube'

If that is something you are keen to do, then go and watch it, there are some excellent tips on how to get your videos seen. It all helps. Martin also uncovers a very cool program, that will help in your YT endeavours, I won't say it's name, as it will spoil the surprise when you watch.

Well looky here, I'm out of time, I was going to say 'out od words' but that so isn't the case. I do have some more training to attend to though, there's always something new to learn.

Keep listening, keep learning and keep taking action. Stay safe, healthy and happy.

Another day in the life. Ever feel like some days are longer than others? I do. I said somewhere that a penny can lead to a dollar which can lead to a hundred dollars, and then you have a fist full of dollars. A small sale say you, it's all good. The key is, as you so rightly pointed out, the profit. Keep moving the shtuff and the profits add up. Have a good day Twack.

Greg

Thank you Greg, may your day be the best it can be.
I remember listening to Harv Eker talking about money, and how he now celebrates if he finds a coin, it stuck with me.
Now I welcome the small as well as the big, in equal amounts.

Your mention of Harv Eker jogged a memory. When I was a young kid, I had an uncle who was considered well off. At a family function, I asked him how he got so rich. He told me that every time he saw a phone booth (remember those?) he would check the coin return for left coins, and he would take those coins and put them in his piggy bank. Do you know? I copied him and kept the habit of checking the coin return till I was well into my 30's. Picked up a few nickles here and there.

I love that, they all count. The house rule is that if anyone leaves 'change' lying around then it's fair game. Not that I want to profit from another's misfortune, you understand.

Commendations tend to be more than handy from you is all I can say. I also believe anyone that knows you knows that to be true!!

Enjoy the sarnie just had one myself reading this!! ;

Thank you Rami, you're very kind to say that. Every now and then my eyes are opened to previously unknown 'gems' just because someone has mentioned something in passing.
I try not miss those opportunites as you never know where they might lead.
Missed out lunch though,sigh.

You are most deservingly welcome...;)

What? you sounded as you were looking forward to it wonder what came up to thwart that plan!! Whatever it was you shouldn't have let it!!

Laters!!

Timing. I settled for a vegan sausage roll, which did the trick.

Cool!! at least you had something!! ;)

R.

Love it!
Joe

Thank you Joe, always welcome and appreciated.

Video editing looks like rocket science. I have downloaded a couple of free Softwares and neither look user friendly. I want one that I can just say like Captain Picard, "Make it so"

I wouldn't mind a 'Replicator' or a 'Holodeck' come to think of it.
As for the program, it's more like a 'Jaaxy' for YouTube.

You can have the replicator. Dibs on the holodeck.

Deal.

Thanks my friend for some very useful pointers and a very motivational post.

Chris

You are most welcome Chris, appreciate you coming by. Have a good one.
