Time For Another Party ? 250 Days As Ambassador

Well, if you needed a reason to shake up a Sunday afternoon (it is here anyway) I thought it could be time for another party to celebrate 250 days as ambassador.

In actually fact, it's 253 days, I missed it. No idea what I was thinking about, I even checked a few days before. Still, better late than never, as they say.

I have said before that I never used to celebrate these milestones, it's not really my thang, then a member friend (@HeidiAnders3) changed my way of looking at things. From that moment on, I've been celebrating anything and everything.

'Milestones' should be announced, why ? Well, to me, it shows longevity and achievement. Those are especially important in today's world and even more so for us.

Being able to commit to something and stick with it, even during difficult times, is a good thing, in my humble opinion.

Even now, I admire those who have stuck at something for any length of time. As I said, it shows commitment. Not only that though, there's more to it than that.

You can go down to the 'bookies', place a bet on the next 'whatever' and you might win and in so doing, you will experience instant gratification, which is something us 'humans' quite like.

The problem is, the next time you try it, you might not be so lucky and then you experience sadness and pain.

Doing what we do takes time, effort, stamina and belief. Also, more often than not, there is no instant gratification. In fact there might not be anything to cheer about for quite a while.

During those 'dry' times, it's worth remembering that it takes time to be truly excellent at anything you decide to turn your hand to. This is best compared with a 'career'.

You wouldn't expect to start at the top of your chosen profession or vocation, would you ? Dictionary dot com describe the word 'career' below.

"An occupation or profession, especially one requiring special training, followed as one's lifework"

"A person's progress or general course of action through life or through a phase of life, as in some profession or undertaking."

There we have it then. 'Stuff' takes time. This thing we're doing, takes time. It's all relative. You get out of it, what you put into it. Blah di blah blah blah.

Stay the distance and plan your future by sticking with it. Visualise where you will be in two years or five or even ten. Can you see that far ahead ?
