The Blog That Never Was.

So after me babbling on about routines and being on top of everything, I have failed miserably, you may admonish me, if you so desire. I'm mean you wouldn't actually know, one way or the other really, would you ? It's just my own moral code that forces me to 'come clean'. The following has absolutely nothing to do with my original subject. Zip, nilch, nada. Which is why I've called it 'The blog that never was' which is probably paradoxical, as the one I should have written, would be the one that never was. Hmm. I'm sure I just heard something go 'pop' in my head.

The day was going so well and then I woke up. Here's a thing. I set the time on my alarm clock
so that it read forty minutes fast. I have done this for years and yet my brain still hasn't cottoned on. When the alarm goes and I look at the time, that 'panic' hits me every time. Then the realisation dawns on me and I am calm again. It does work though, I am wide awake.

For whatever reason this morning was different. I woke up when I heard my son's door opening, that meant that I'd missed my bathroom slot. The dogs would be going cross-eyed and whining more than a three-year-old being told they can't have sweets.

Everything should run like clockwork in the mornings unless I mess up. I have to be back from walking the dogs before 7am, so that I can wake the next one up (which is a struggle) so I can then drop him off at the bus stop for 7.50am. So if I'm late getting up, I'm up against it from the get go. Still, we like a challenge.

Somehow I managed to claw back the time. Then I had to pack a couple of EBay items, take some photos of the next item to go up for sale.(Adhering to the resolution of listing an item everyday) On top of all this, I still needed to do my exercises. Oh and I remembered to put the wheelie bin on the pavement, as today is rubbish collection day. Why is 'wheelie' spelt that way and not 'wheely' ? It's not a plural. Puzzling.

Charger arrived for a friend's laptop, which means I can set about fixing it. This will be the third one this week. Yes, it's been a good week for 'Paying it Forward'. The time is 11.28 and I'm not sure if I'll make the deadline for publishing.(Most of these deadlines are self-imposed) we'll see. Also put a wash load on and waved goodbye to my wife as she starts a day full of 'doggy' stuff. Now, she does have a full day. She is taking away our 'dog lodger' though, which makes me happy. The 'so-and-so', bit me yesterday. Little blighter, better than him biting my son, who was trying to take his lead off.

All this leads me to here, where is where I'm meant to start telling you about the main reason for this post. Look though, we're at 470 words already and time is tick-tocking along without so much as a by your leave. What to do ? Busy is as busy does. Love that phrase. I'm going to cut this loose and give myself a break. Not a literal break, you understand, more as a chance for me to get ahead of the game. So much left to do.

I love days like today, there really is something invigorating about them. Tomorrow will have to do for 'the blog that never was' However, I am sure I will see some of you before then.

Getting ready for the weekend ?

Have a flamboyant Friday.

Twack Romero.

Somehow I missed this post.
That’s me...a day behind and a dollar short.
Your clock-setting routine is hilarious! My brain would never fall for that trick. I’d be hitting the snooze button until I was truly late, or the shock would give me a heart attack.
At my age it’s enough of a challenge to reset the clocks twice a year, for whatever small-brained wizard thought “daylight savings” was a reality.
I mean come on...no matter what the clock says there are still the same number of hours of daylight. It’s not like you can stick them in the bank for later use.
Anyway, rant over, and enjoyed another “day in the life of Twack”!
Thanks as always,
KyleAnn

Hello KyleAnn, ironically yours in the first reply tonight as I am also playing some major catch-up. The weekend has run amuck with my timings. I'm much better during the week when I adhere to stricker timings.
Still, late or not, it's always a pleasure to see you. I am petitioning for an extra hour so that we can 'go metric'. Start small and see how it goes.

Charming post, Twack. The most interesting thing is I was wondering all the way through reading why your son goes to school on Saturday as I am used to you posting every day :) and me being on WA very rarely I didn't notice it was a yesterday's post.
Well but your writing hasn't changed in the meantime. Always nice to read.
Love
Lenka

Thank you Lenka and allow me to clarify, actually two things. Sad though it was and still is, there are some schools where Saturday morning attendance is compulsory, I was at one such school for a number of years, kicked the life out of the weekend.
I was dropping the one son off at the bus stop, so he could catch the bus to work. The stop is over the other side of the city.

That is sad, I think children should have only five days of school and weekend off.
Thanks for the clarification!

I was a 'captive' audience, as it was boarding school.

Wow what a busy life you lead! I’m exhausted reading it!

I actually thought it was quite a good morning, the afternoon picked up where the morning left off.
Still, the weekend cometh.

You seem to be flat out busy all day, every day!

Enjoy your weekend, try and get some relaxation

Thank you but that just didn't happen, hence the very late reply.

Oh dear - only 5 more days then.... 😬

I relish the thought, can't wait for tomorrow.

Hmmmm thinks it’s going to be a grotty week, redundancy announcements etc. Not me as far as I know but still not pleasant.

Not nice.

I know. On the positive side I’m working from home 3 days this week so can be more productive on my we sites too 👍🏻

Thanks for sharing, that was a fun read. Not that I have fun with your hardships, I'm having the same kind of day. I was up most of the night with my daughters (one had growing pains and the other HATES to poop so she cries when she feels it coming, she's so ashamed of pooping and she's not even 3!)

Anyway, that caused me to wake up late too, which isn't a huge problem because I homeschool my daughter's but I have to get my boyfriend's coffee ready on time for when he has to leave for work. It seems to be that kind of day.

T.G.I.F! Am I right?!

I hope you have a better day and an awesome weekend Twack!

All the best,
Melissa

Thank you Melissa. You have had a rough night, by all accounts. Here's to the end of a long one, and the beginning of the well earned weekend respite.
I hope your day improved also.
Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. A perfect opportunity to 'follow' you.

Thank you, my day did get better ☺️

Yay for the weekend! I hope you have a great one!

I've just popped over to your profile and hit the follow button. I thought I already had followed you but I was wrong 🤷 following you now though ☺️

It's all good, I am the one with the apology for being late on replying. My weekend was 'full' hope yours was less frantic.

No worries, life happens. Yesterday was a pretty full day for me but today has been a nice relaxing day ☺️

I hope the rest of your weekend is better.

🙏
