Thanksgiving And Giving Thanks Everyday.

Last Update: November 28, 2019

Having never experienced Thanksgiving, I can only imagine through what I've read and seen, what today will be like for many millions across the waters. So before further ado, I hope you all have a wonderful day and celebrate in style, giving thanks and being grateful for what you have.

Not being part of this doesn't lessen the ability to be able to enjoy the feeling, if not somewhat vicariously through the posts and comments here. Add to that the whole host of films I have watched that will have had someone trying to get home for Thanksgiving. They always have trial and tribulations along the way and it seems that the task will be impossible. One way or another they get there.

So where is there ? I think it's more than a physical place and without going esoteric, it has to be a combined emotional state. Many will be celebrating away from home but will still do so with the same deep sentiments of being thankful even if they are unable to do so with those closest to them.

It's a leveller. Whoever you are and wherever you are, the trappings of modern day life fall by the wayside and you are filled with a higher sense of belonging to something greater. I think on days like today it's more than being thankful for what we have in a material way. We are thankful for being alive and able to share the love of life with those closest to us.

So wherever you are and whoever you are with, have a wonderful day of giving thanks for what is most important in your lives. Each other.

What a wonderful take on the meaning of Thanksgiving from a Brit!

You are so right, it isn’t the “there” that’s important it’s who you’re there with.

One of my best friends was a real estate agent and would always include clients who were new to the area and had no family nearby. Those were some of my favorite gatherings, to learn about the places they came from, extol the virtues of our wonderful area and make new friends.

If any of my WA family ever finds themselves in the Kansas City area with nothing to do I would be happy to be your hostess!

I can feel the 'vibe' through the posts and comments, I'll take that as my 'being part of it'
I've been procrastinating on a 'gratitude' post for one of my sites. Today seemed the perfect day to start it and I have.
Enjoy it all and make sure you eat too much.
