Study Saturday Then I Can Go And Play
That's what today has felt like 'Study Saturday'. Was it also the same for all of us, when we were young, not being allowed out until you had finished all of your work or chores ? "Once you have done your homework, then you can go out and play" Sad but true.
Spending a number of years in a boarding school didn't help my cause either. 'Prep time' was a daily ritual and one that couldn't be bypassed. Tales for another day, I fear.
I have halted all things to come here and write. I was starting to get 'itchy' fingers. It must be some kind of 'release' as I do start to get that uncomfortable feeling, if I haven't posted.
It is part of my daily routine, and as such, needs to be attended to in a prompt manner. Anyway, enough of the why's and wherefores, I'm here now.
This morning, I had a wonderful piece of serendipitous good fortune. In one of my previous posts, I had mentioned that I was on the lookout for a transcription program and one that wasn't going to cost recurring, ridiculous amounts.
I flirted with couple and even thought about going steady with one particular suitor. (Thank you, Karin). After all that, I was still stood at the edge of the dance floor, sipping club soda, on my own.
It's not that I'm 'tight', it's more because of it's intended use, as it's for a side project that I am toying with in the evenings.
Due to the relationship between YouTube and Facebook, one has to be careful how one peddles one's wares. There is, however, a 'workaround'. There are probably many, but this one suits my purpose.
Write a post/article and have the video in it. Then you just promote the article/post, anywhere you like and you don't get short-changed by the platform's 'Rhythm of Algo'.
Having a transcription of the video, does many things, mainly it gives you a 'written' copy, or a template from which to write a fresh article.
As this is a side project/experiment, I am trying to do it as cost effectively as possible, thus not wanting to pay more than I need to.
As I was about to hand my ticket back in for my coat, 'Lady Serendipity' gracefully glided in, as only she can. This was actually in the form of an email suggesting that I might like the look of some software.
We cannot explain why sometimes we discard and other times we engage. Either way, I thought it was worth a look. It had the word 'Ninja' in the title, maybe that was why.
While I was reading through the 'blurb' what did I find ? An option for video transcription. I was both flabber and gasted. Not only that but the cost of the entire program was no more than a months subscription to some of the other software I had been looking at.
Needless to say, one doesn't look a gift horse in the mouth or has to be asked twice. I snaffled that baby right up. Once I have worked out how to use it (or even open it) I shall be testing it out and passing on my findings to you.
Of course, if it doesn't turn out to be any good, I might just say nothing, in the hope that you will forget about it.
Well, this has been a pleasant interlude but I need to finish the last module about LinkedIn, it is still 'Study Saturday', after all.

I remember reading captions that youtube must have made on Christian sites, and you have to be in control of the thing. Otherwise, what I was seeing was a lot of dirty words, where dirty words should not be.
Just a note to consider, always check IT'S work to be sure it's really whatyou want to say :>}

Sounds both promising and cost-effective as you say you don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
Sometimes we just stumble upon it only we have a saying what is for you won't go past you!! ;
As for prep that is indeed another story altogether!! ha ha

From countryside so beautiful Lenka it would take your breath away!! lols In fact so beautiful we decided to crown our Kings and Queens there....about an hour North of Edinburgh. ;) a mile or so up the road is reputed to be the first settlement that settled 10,000 years ago and the stone pyramid we call them Cairns still stands!!

I was in Scotland 2 years ago, we flew from Prague to Edinburgh (I have to look up the correct spelling every time I need it 😁) and then we went direction to Fort William, spend a few nights at one of the lakes. The countryside is breathtaking, I love it there.
It would seem that 'study' mode is the only one open to me at the moment, which isn't a bad thing and you are more than welcome to 'intrude' upon at any time.

I hope you got your "play" time in.
Do let us know how your Ninja software works. Repurposing content is one of those things we all need to be doing. It's certainly something I've been trying to do.
I've been working at it from the angle of repurposing my posts into ebooks, for giveaways amongst other things.
