Persistence-Keep Knocking on That Door

Persistence is that you just keep knocking on that door. It opens, happy days, until the owner tells you to 'do one'. On to the next and the next and the next, some never even open, just a twitch at the curtains and a bark behind the letterbox. Hey ho.

Persistence, it's not one of the BIG words, like despair, secret, finally, success and so on and

so on. Words that carry weight but also mystery.

'I am in despair,'

'The secret I've been keeping,'

'Finally it's happened,'

'Success is here at last.'

Persistence, well my learned friends, that one is in a league of its own. All the others pale in comparison. Why ?

For the simple reason that persistence does not judge. It does not ask you to 'feel' for it. It does not ask you to comment,

'I'm sorry you are in despair.'

'What's your secret ?'

'Well done, you made it.'

'Congratulations on your success.'

All of those are temporary, whereas persistence is permanent. The meaning itself is that of never stopping. You keep on going even after you've reached your goal, even after you've reached the top. You never stop, you find another quest. You turn your focus to the next task.

It's not for the faint-hearted. It takes stamina and resolve. It's staying in when your friends are out having a good time.

It's getting up at 5.30am on a dark, wet Winters morning to go for a run.

It's picking up you instrument for the fourth time today and playing all seventeen scales you need for the next grade exam.

It's rehearsing your 'lines' in front of the mirror, when all you want to do is sit in front of the TV and be entertained.

It's searching for keywords.

Researching the competition.

Studying books and websites to learn the subject matter before you can write it.

It's reading through your content for the umpteenth time hoping to find typo's or adjust a sentence so that it sounds more engaging.

It's knocking on that door when you've already been knocking on doors all day and your feet hurt and you haven't even had one 'Yes'. It's just been one 'No' after another.

That's OK though because there will be a 'Yes', your content will engage the reader, you'll get a standing ovation at the end of the play, your music will be sublime and you'll come first in whatever race you're training for.

If you never stop trying, you'll never fail.

PERSISTENCE PAYS OFF !

I loved this post,
Persistence, yes not for the faint hearted,
I also love
Tenacity,
& determination,
But not to steel of hijack your post, it was a highly motivational read and just what Needed to read before I hop off to work and dream of being back home tonight to continue knocking on doors..

Thank you for taking the time to post 👍,

You're welcome Cordelia and thank you. I do like tenacity, it really does have an added 'spice' to it, almost an element of 'taking risks'. Calculated, of course.

Persistence pays off I plan to finish the race this time.

As the saying goes. You have to be in it, to win it.
We're definitely in it.

Persistence beats Procrastination hands down!

Unless you're persistently procrastinating that is...

Thanks for this one!

hahaha Too funny.

Alway welcome S.
Persistent procrastination prevents positive productivity.

Food for thought, young Twack, persistence, definitely the apex in online marketing success.

Thank you sir. You've made me feel like a Jedi. Of course that would make you Yoda, which isn't a bad thing.

Well said persistence is vital to moving forward.

It is one of my strengths.

Thanks
Darren :)

It should be classed a 'Super power'
'Persistence Man/Woman' Never gives up. Might have to make a T-shirt with a big 'P' on the front.

Hi Twack. I always get up very well early but our winters are usually great. I live in the sub tropics. This year we have had freezing mornings, something I'm not used to, so even though I still get up early I suffer from brain freeze. I really don't know how those cold climate people do it . Any way, you're correct.persistance pays. Two cups of coffee later and I'm ready to go....to the heater. Jim

Hi Jim. Do you have extremes of temperature ? Freezing in the morning and hot during the day ? That would be hard to adjust to. I'm not sure have four seasons, in the traditional sense, anymore.

We do this year. Most times our evenings are cool to mild in our dry season and hot in summer. But this year we have had more cold nights then Normal, cold nights usually mean hot spring/summer ahead. Nothing seems Normal with weather today. Jim

"Nothing seems Normal with weather today."
Total agreement here.

Hi Twack,

Watched a movie many years ago about what was behind the "Green Door". Well let me tell you a little about, on second thought perhaps not.

Persistence does pay. Sometimes frustration get's in the way followed by heavy sighs.

I need to get used to asking questions from my the WA community.

Today I did spend a few hours on my site. My gosh I am so glad I asked those questions. My site is getting to look better.

A special thanks to Fleeky and Jay.

This by far is the best place to be. So much support.

Many Thanks to everyone, I really do appreciate the help.

Twack thank you for sharing this timely post.

Best wishes,

Michael

Awesome news about your 'site' progress. I can go for a time without visiting my site and then I'll 'hit' it for a couple of hours and the feeling of satisfaction is right up there.
I think as long as we're moving in the right direction ,all is good with the world. One thing I have not done is put 'time' restraints on myself. One year, two years five years, doesn't matter.

*** knock, knock! ... *** guess who?!

Mikey

Then you say "Mikey who ?"

ok -- Mikey who?! ... lol ...

*(an early fab. friday morning moment ... lol .. )

'My Key won't work, that's why I'm knocking'

*** verr-rry funniee-e ---> mykey ! ... ah-h! ... ok 1 up for u ! ***

⭐️🍿🍿🍿⭐️ --- see ya at the Jay show soon... :)

This is an awesome description of a word. Thank you very much.for being inspired to explain "persistence" in this way.

You're very welcome Derek, I appreciate you dropping by. Be well.

I really appreciate this. Those that talk about writing a 1,500 word blog in an article make me feel so inadequate. It takes me 3-4 hours for the research and then the writing. I guess I'm slow but I can't write before doing my research!

You're very welcome Darlene. I know where you're coming from but we all have our own pace. It was about four months before I managed to hit 1500.
