Only A Year And A Half Late

It has only just dawned on me that I have finally accomplished what I set out to do, only I am a year and a half late. Whoops.

Allow me to elaborate. Sometime around December 2018, I decided on a career change, or at least a shift in priorities. For the previous three years I had been buying, fixing and selling cars, predominantly 90's Jaguars.

I decided to change because I had had a realisation. The only part of the journey I enjoyed was the 'fixing' side of things. Buying and selling was a pain. So, upon recognising this fact, I set off in a different direction.

I intended to go back to buying and selling computers and associated hardware. While researching this, I happened to stumble upon a review of Wealthy Affiliate and the rest, as they say, is history.

My plan had been to buy a 'job lot' of computers and then start refurbishing them. Nothing complicated, just strip them, clean them and upgrade where possible. That was the general idea.

Obviously it never happened and instead I found myself here and loving it. So you can imagine my surprise when I found myself answering an ad on the local 'FreeCycle' platform and subsequently acquiring this little lot.

That's right, a 'job lot' of computers that were going to be thrown away. An office was relocating. Normally I don't have much luck when it comes to replying to this kind of ad, most times the items have already been promised to somebody else.

Not only did I get in there first but the very nice man has kept my details and will be in touch should anything else become available. Sweet.

Have I not got enough to contend with ? Oh well, it's something to drop onto every so often, should the mood take me. There are eight in total, seven of which are complete and in all honesty, they won't require much work to make them usable.

That's all my news (for today, but we need to have a chat at some point), now I have lawn mowing duties to attend to. Hopefully this will be the last cut before the winter pulls us into it's chilled embrace.

May your day be full of joy.

Twack Romero.

Result! now others can be going there to find the shelves already emptied instead of you.
After my day's experience, there is more than enough to contend with that's for sure still what was that you were saying if we are not stretched than how boring with that be!

Agree only not on a daily basis it then starts to be boring with the continual exertion!

All's well that ends well let's have tomorrow!! haha

R.

This is true, it would become tiresome and I'm not sure that we would be 'growing' through the process. Once in a while would do.
I hope that your situation has been resolved to your satisfaction and that you can saunter into Wednesday with a clear head and a spring in your step.😁
Thinking about it, I'm not sure how one could saunter with a sprung step.

That got a chuckle!! ;

Hi Twack, I see this as a sign. When I was injured I had to shift my focus from fixing cars, and I did pick up on the computer thing. It was OK for a while, but the trend for laptops were higher and the desktop business started to suffer.
You seem to have a liking to fixing things and I see this as an opportunity. Now you got to find that balance between WA and re-furbishing computers. Regardless I know you will do good.

All the best,
Michael

Thank you Michael, that's very kind. I do enjoy the process. It will be my 'downtime' goto.
I always found that Laptops were more troublesome, just to get inside them.
The 'balance' is something I am in the midst of sorting through now.

Being flexible i what we do and like doing is what is important. I took this last long 4 day weekend away from the online business and WA, and found a balance which I will post about shortly.
I love computers yet my skill to fix them left when I got my first imac. :)

I agree. We made the change about ten years ago and although there was some 'belt tightening ' needed we've never regretted it. I'll keep an eye out for your post.

I cannot stop being amaze by the gems that you ceaselessly come across. I am happy for you!
Carol

Thank you Carol. I was lucky enough to see the notification as soon as it came through and they normally work on 'first come first served'.

Nice score on the computers and I think it was our last cut our high here was 48 and last night was cold time to chop some firewood

Thank you kindly Dorrie. As much as we've had plenty of rain interspersed with sun, there hasn't been rapid growth, so I'm hopeful that it's done it's thing now.
