Oh Yes, That's Great But What Is It ?

That was line I was saying to myself. "Oh yes, that's great but what is it ?" Talk about 'beating around the bush. Digression alert. I need to get these out, otherwise I won't be able to release the good stuff.

The applicable statement in response to the above paragraph is 'Better out than in and a bad tenant'. Ever heard that one ? I quite like it and it has served me well on numerous occasions. Then we have 'Cleanliness is next to godliness'. All I would lik3 to know on that one is, who came up with. I'm not sure that it's even valid.

Now, before you start shuffling uneasily in your seats, the rest has nothing to do with anything religious, it was just in my mind and I knew if I didn't get it out, something more important would get thrown out and my whole post strategy would be lying on the editing room floor in tatters.

So, back to the title. That was what I was saying to myself as I completed my video bingeathon (You can't correct the spelling if it's a made up word). Tail end of last year, 96 hours to watch 15 videos and each batch was only up for 24 hours.

It was a 'free' Clickfunnels promotion that gave firsthand accounts of successful entrepreneurs explaining how they would rebuild their businesses in 100 days, if they lost them overnight.

Obviously the whole premise was for you to sign up. I knew that wasn't going to happen, so I thought I would advantage of the free learning opportunity.

By the end of it, I had amassed about 40 pages of notes (Yes, all in my Dr's handwriting) and had taken quite a bit from those who were willing to share their strategies.

However, after all was said and done, one question remained unanswered.

'What is a funnel ?'

I honestly had no clue. Life moved on and I explored it no more. I didn't even ask the 'Big G'. I even saw a couple of members mention them in their posts and still didn't ask the question.

So when I started this most recent challenge, regardless of how much incredible, insightful knowledge was being covered, all I really wanted to know was what on earth a funnel actually was.

Maybe they heard my mental anguish because within the first day of videos, an explanation was forthcoming and it was far simpler than I had imagined it would be. Sometimes the 'unknown' appears to be more complicated in our minds than the actuality.

Once I had understood the basics, I had a realisation. For those of you that have an in depth understanding of what we can do with our web pages, you can tell me if I'm right or 'pie in the skying it'

A funnel (in my own layman's terms) is a single page or a series of pages, designed to take the user/customer in a certain direction, in the hope that they will buy a product/service, maybe then buy the 'up sells' being offered, or just leave their email address.

Here's my thoughts. A 'funnel' is only ever going to be as good as the sales message and offer. The next epiphanarious thought, was that you don't need any fancy software to do it, it can be done (If you experts think it can) with your own web pages, using a handful of plugins if necessary.

After all, it is just a series of web pages. If you click 'option A' you get taken to a specific page. If you click 'Option B' then you get taken to a different one.

I know it's over simplified to an extent but surely that's all it is. The software that is out there makes the process easier but I don't think you need it to create a working 'funnel'. No, yes ?

Anyway, that was all I wanted to get across, today. I'll leave you to it. Enjoy the rest of the day, it's beautiful here. Stay safe, healthy and happy. Oh, one more thing. My apologies for the delay in responding to any comments, I've been out and when I got in I wanted to share this with you. Now I'm off to do some replying.

I agree Twack, if the message is no good, it won't work, however elaborate.
I was kind of viewing these things as an actual funnel, it was mystifying.
When you said the other day it could be just on one page, the light began to dawn.
I did see one laid out that looked complicated with many different options depending on what the customer did. Most led back to the same point anyway.

Like most things I suppose, we can make it as complicated as we like. Personally, I'd go with simple, all day long.

Must admit it put me off, being so complex. Simple is better.

Very interesting conclusions and probably right about not requiring any specific high class software as most attempt to get people to pay for old rope repackaged and re dyed...:

From what I see you are exactly right from what it has always been you can have the most expensive wrap around the funnel without that message you do not engage and people will not be badgered, goaded or enticed without the right message that strikes a chord or offer sufficient value in 'their estimation'.

In fact with technology moving fast as always the funnel model has been remodelled into another sleek faster model!!

That is not to say that The Funnel has become outdated or irrelevant just slightly downgraded....;

I don;t know how anyone can downgrade my message that is something I am still mulling over.

Have a good one!!

You too Rami, it's a beautiful day here, I feel a lawn mowing extravaganza coming on, if I can get ahead of this writing malarky.
Again the v word, value still stands firm and at the top of the list.
Once again then, I find myself slightly behind the curve. Sigh.
Still, we can only do, what we can do, with what we have.

Thank you Twack,

I said what I did not to discourage as I say it is still valid and working for many...only actually to encourage that there are more ways to skin a cat.

It was actually in mind with your better half's admirable efforts and your sleeping partners role.

Later!!

All good and very much appreciated. Thoughts were for lead generation in the first instance and see how things go. It's all in place in my head, just need to get it down on the page.

Ha ha isn't that a fact!! ;

I knew what a funnel was but I always learn new sayings from you, Twack. Keep them coming please. I love English, well I actually like all languages. Is "advantage" a verb as well? Thought it was just a noun.
Always learning.
I'm gonna do some research now. Not building a funnel yet and I'm not sure if I'm ever gonna do that. I'm such a non-sales person, it's not good but can't help.
Have a nice evening, my friend!
Lenka

It is indeed a verb, though I had to check, my grammatical knowledge is very poor. Ijust write and hope that it reads well enough. How it sounds in our head can be very different to how someone else reads it.
I know what you mean about being a 'non-sales' person. If I can show how good something is (I have to believe it myself) then it sits better for me.

It does read perfect, it's just my grammatical brain that has to analyse :) I hope you don't mind me digging in your sentences. You know I always enjoy reading your posts.
I can also be very persuasive if I'm convinced something is good but it's easier for me to do that if it's indirectly. Like just recommending things, people etc. That's why I like affiliate marketing.

I agree, I am much more comfortable when I have the confidence in whatever it is, even better if I am part of it or have used it.
Dig away 'Mi casa es su casa'.

We learn something new every day I have had the same experiences not asking if I don't understand but in reality, we are asking and your thought are thrown out to the universe and come back with the answer you require.

Keep those thoughts running Twack you will always get your answers, It's much like the funnel, so you see it is not complicated.

always a better way Linda

I am onboard with that Linda. I have noticed that any 'negative' thoughts that manage to get through the net, are always answered. Need to work on that.

your funnel is your email list. how to capture that is up to you. you can purchase one or make your own as you stated. Your thoughts will guide you but not the negitive ones (O:

You can't judge a book by looking at the cover.

I was in one the other day and although I declined the generous offers, it was a pleasure to be there.
