Most Definitely My Buddy
That's right, TubeBuddy is most definitely my buddy, I'd even go as far as to say, my 'besty' (I had the urge to go with 'ie' but managed to control it)
Life is having it's wicked way with me at the moment and is letting me know, in no uncertain terms, who the boss is.
That's fine, I know that I will regain control when it see fit. I'd like to get to the stage where I take a break from work, to do 'life' rather than the other way round. Hey ho, my time will come.
Yesterday I set about the 'unenvious' task of updating all of the videos on my YouTube channel, it's been a long time coming and there's still plenty to do but I made a start and that was the important thing.
I knew a while back that one of my affiliate links was no longer valid, actually, the link still goes to the right place but the price has changed. That meant that every single description needed to be amended.
Enter my mate 'TubeBuddy', a free extension that provides guidance when it comes to SEO, amongst other things.
I knew there was a facility on there to do 'bulk' alterations and though I hadn't looked into it in any kind of detail, I was hopeful that it might help with my predicament.
True enough, you could not only delete text, you could also 'find and replace text' and do so across more than one video at a time. (There are quite few)
Once I had ascertained the relevant passage, and changed the function to 'remove text' (I didn't need to add anything, it still made grammatical sense by just removing the offending words) I then ticked the box that said 'All'.
All I had to do was hit the 'Go' button, which I did, tentatively. I was kind of expecting what came next and I'm sure you will have guessed as well.
'To use this feature you need to upgrade' or words to that effect, came up on the screen. Sigh. It was kind of inevitable.
Still, my thinking is that if I can get everything done that I need to do over the next few weeks, then I can always cancel the subscription. It was $19 per month, which, considering the 'man-hours' I will save, isn't that bad a deal.
As an example of 'other' benefits, the SEO score on the first video I was working on, was 5. By the time I had finished, it was up to 60. That was a 'win' in my book, as some of the extra points would require some external graphics to be added, along with a couple of other items.
It also gives you recommendations for the 'tags', rather than having to do endless keyword searches.
I will fill you in on recent events and at some point we will have that 'chat', I just need to have a clear space to formulate my thoughts correctly.

Good move Twack on Tube Buddy. its a great tool. I've been using Tube Buddy for over a year, and its great.
I hope you know, you DON'T need to PAY for Tube Buddy...there is a FREE version, and it works great. It's all you really need....there's no reason to pay for a premium version.
I have over 42 videos on my channel, and I still use the Free version.
Thanks Kaju. I was using the free version and only upgraded for the 'bulk' alteration tool, otherwise it would have taken me 6 months to change all of the descriptions.

Amazing how far you have really come when you put your mind to it.
Glad the uploading has started and to see the results with this wizard helping out it may even take you less than your projected time frame.

You are right, it will drastically reduce the amount of time I had set aside to do all of the 'tweaking'.
I am also looking forward to using the keyword tool, as it also ranks them on popularity (or whatever metric keywords come under)

Arriba arriba indeed. 'Tags' was something I didn't add when I uploaded the videos, now when I do, I can make sure they are decent ones and not just ones I think are good.
I am sure it will be an interesting quarter and things don't look like they will be slowing down anytime soon.
