It's No Wonder I Thought It Was Thusrday

After the last couple of days, it's no wonder I thought it was Thursday. It does seem to be happening more often these days though.

I was only reminded of the fact when I could hear the bin lorry making it's way up the road, even then I had to double-check and ask my wife if it was Friday.

So then, a day lost this week. You have to take the rough with the smooth, it also happens the other way round, where you gain a day.

I finished yesterday's 'Aww, Snap Error Out Of Memory' post early because I had forgotten the long list of things I had to report about. They did all come flooding back, you'll be pleased to hear.😉.

I've started writing around mid-morning but the chances are I will finish it this afternoon, it all depends on whether a package arrives. If it does, then I will be 'hot-footing' it over to my friend's house to drop it off. He's the one restoring an old VW Beetle.

Yesterday started off with a massive dog fight on the normally calm and peaceful morning walk. Bella has been displaying signs that she might quite like the 'top dog' spot. Sky, who currently owns that position, had obviously put up with Bella's aspirations for too long.

I'll spare you the gory details, let's just say that the rightful order of things has been restored, for now. I do think it's wonderful that they can be going at it one minute and the next they're good friends, chilling out together.

I provide proof of that statement by showing you the bottom picture in this tasteful montage.

That segues nicely into the next item on the list, namely Canva. This picture selection was done using one of the Canva templates.

I never realised these types of templates actually existed. I only found out when they emailed and I read it, for once.

Unless we take to exploring these programs, we may never discover their true potential.

The other two pictures are a visual representation of an hour or two's work in morning, pulling out a spare radiator for my eldest's car.

He'd pulled up the other night and something went 'pop' before he's got out of the car. Luckily he had a spare one.

Unluckily for me, it meant navigating the north face of 'Spare Parts Mountain'. I didn't mind, it's good to get in there, every now and then.

I did find a few more items that I can list on EBay. Talking of which, I had the most recent success, in that arena, yesterday as well.

The van, you watched me lovingly and painstakingly clean last week, sold to the 'Man From Lincoln'. At first, I thought it was all part of an elaborate scam, as he wanted to pay the full amount to secure the sale.(No haggling)

I don't mind that, but he wanted to do it via Paypal, which always makes me wary. Before I had chance to agree to his request, he used the 'Buy It Now' option and paid in full with Paypal.

Paypal being the faceless entity that it is, decided to send me an 'eCheque', just for the lol's.

I had more red flags being flown than a wet start at Silverstone. Thankfully, his next communication, in which he described his feelings towards Paypal in no uncertain terms, informed me that he had managed to get the cash together and would take the train the following day.

I collected him form the station and it turned out that he was a decent bod and funny to boot, a total pleasure to deal with.

That was a couple of hours in the middle of the day dealt with. I now have a space on the drive, which does mean I can start stage two of the block paving 'Scrape & Clean'

Throw the computer issues into the mix and mowing the back lawn (green patch), it's a wonder I get any work done at all. You can now understand why keeping track of the actual days is not really a priority.

Getting through each day unscathed, that's a priority.

Right, the parcel hasn't arrived with the normal mail, so I am going to do a 'Supermarket dash' for some essentials. Who knows what will happen this afternoon, your guess is as good as mine.

Have a fantastic Friday and remember to stay safe, healthy and happy.

Twack Romero.

Sounds like you had another full, busy day. Unfortunately my day was cut short by an ongoing back injury. In any case at least I get to lay down for a while and rest ( while checking out what my WA friends are up to). All the best Twack.. Jim

Thanks Jim, you have to take each day as it comes. We never really know what's going to happen from one day to the next.

Is Cava easy to use? Can you use it to make videos

Yes and yes, to some degree

As Chrystopher says, yes on both counts, though the video section isn't a full blown editing suite.

I tend to use Canva to obtain video snippets, then I'll combine them all together using the free video editor HitFilm Express. The link to download it is in my latest training, which I believe you have already seen.

Busy here too, I've got a translation from German to Czech which I'm happy about because most translations I get are from/to English.
The week has been great so far, hope I'll get to writing for WA soon as well, I miss it.
Have a beautiful Friday, my friend.
Lenka

Well, Friday took me by surprise, so we'll see where it takes me. I like busy though.
Good to hear you've had a great week, they should all be like that.
Here's to a mutually successful Friday then.😁

And it hasn't finished yet. I dared to show more of my drawings and some paintings just a minute ago 😁
It's not as easy as one could think...

Go you, that's awesome. I shall meander over there shortly and peruse the gallery.😎👍

What an excellent choice of words, meander and peruse 😊.
I have to learn from you, tend to use basic vocabulary (probably because I advise my students to learn and repeat the basics).

Why thank you Lenka, your vocabulary is hardly basic, your writing is always interesting and enjoyable to read.
I just thought those words would suit someone who was actually having a wander round an exhibition.

That's true and I knew the word meander as a noun, didn't know it could be used as a verb as well. Learning, learning, learning :)

I think some words take on a different meaning over time, as people start to use them in a different fashion.
I was going to use 'wafted' in a sentence I wrote in today's post. Then I changed my mind and went with 'glided'. Both work but technically, neither of them are grammatically correct, or they shouldn't be, my 'technical' levels of grammar or very poor.
I like to think that we can use pretty much anything we want as long as the structure around it creates the right environment. Sorry, now I'm waffling.

Waft seems to be a verb as well, as I just found out. Glide is one I know so it was a good choice.
You can choose pretty much anything because it still sounds good to your English ear, I have to be more careful but getting more into playing seeing all your inventions.
No problems with your waffling 😁

😁It's good to 'play', I'll quite often redo a sentence a few times unitl I'm happy with how it sounds.

Sounds like you have had a busy time lately - and don't worry - you are certainly not alone either.

If it were not for my planner/calendar in front of me I wouldn't know what day it was half the time!

Time flys by most often and the days are gone in what seems like the blink of an eye.

Thanks for the update, and have a great FRIDAY ;) and a great weekend too!

Best regards,

L.D. Sewell

Thanking you kindly and you're very welcome.
I know what you mean, the days do seem to be disappearing quicker of late.
Hopefully I'll be able to catch up over the weekend, in preparation for next week.
Have a good one.
