It's A Complete And Utter Mess (But that's OK.)

You heard me, don't' pretend you didn't. It's a complete and utter mess but that' OK. Why ? Because it's meant to be. It's just the way it is. C'est la vie mon amis. Don't sweat the small stuff. It'll be alright on the night. No worries, It's all good. Chill.

Yeah right, who am I kidding. You're sat there with you hands on your head, thinking 'how on earth am I meant to make this work ? There's so much to do, to learn, to write, to research. Where do I start ? Who's that knocking on the door ? No, I don't know where the remote is ?

The list of platitudes/problems/distractions is endless but it doesn't get away from the fact that you've got too much stuff gong on and it really is a mess and spending the weekend doing other things isn't going to help with your stress levels. I know what you've got going on, would you like me to list them all ?

OK then, here it is:

  • Google, Yahoo, Bing, Blogs, Yoast, SEO, SERP's, Search, Facebook, Pinterest, Linkedin Reddit, Quora, QSR, Twitter, Training, Posts, Elementor, Divi, Themes, Dreams, Goals, Reviews, Mobile, Desktop, Console, URL's, Video, YouTube, Wordcount, Keywords, Images, Life, Living, Links, Lists, Kids, Hobbies, Husbands, Wives, Parents, Friends, Books, Notes, Ideas, Bots, Bills, Deals, Deadlines, Fines, Payments, Tailwind, Wages, Smoosh, Rank, Networking, Chat, Mailchimp, Funnels, Email, Autoresponders, Spam, Junk, Replies, Reading, Researching, Relaxing, Jaaxy, Jobs, Part-time, Full-time, No time, Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh !

Wow, that's quite a list. You're probably looking at it and thinking of a few more to add, feel free. What can you do ? Nothing. There is nothing you can do about it, it is what it is and what is, is.

I am sure there are some of you out there that are highly organised, experienced and adept at being able to 'pigeonhole' tasks so that you are always on top of things. This will not be the case for many of us.

For some, we are constantly living with a feeling of overwhelm. Do you know what ? That's normal. That's right, normal, normal, normal. It's a mess and that's OK. Embrace it because it won't feel like this forever and there's no point in getting all 'bent out of shape' now and starting to panic, Like Jim Rohn said "It's like trying to herd cats"

It does get better, I promise. Certain tasks will become easier and less time consuming, you will become more organised. You will, in time, understand how everything works.

When I used to work as a 'Mechanic' (Loosely termed) on 'Ten-pin' pinsetters, the 'lanes' owner decided to open another centre. This was to be a fresh install in an empty industrial unit. Specialist installers came in and fitted the lanes and machinery and then left. The rest of the centre needed everything and the electrical side was left up to one man. Graham. Lighting, heating, sockets and anything else you could think of that would require electricity to function.

As you can imagine, the owner wanted everything up and running as quickly as possible, so it could start bringing in some revenue. Considering the scale of the job, it was completed in time but it was not pretty. Front of house was fine but behind the scenes, where the public didn't go, well it was just a myriad of wires, boxes, connections and some things that were best avoided going near. At some point, possibly after the inevitable power loss somewhere, I voiced my concern at the state of things. Without breaking stride he turned and with a smile and said:

"This is how it is with installations like this. You just get everything up and running and then work through to make everything neat and tidy"

Not sure, at the time, if I wasn't just being 'fobbed off'. Now, looking back, there was no other way to achieve what he did, certainly not within the time-scale allowed.

So, take a step back and look at what you've achieved in the time you've been here. If you'd tried

to get each and every segment of the big picture working to full capacity, how far along do you think you would be ? Remember how long it took to write your first 1500 word post ? Or the first time you tried to edit that video ? or slide show or banner ?

This weekend is the 'delivery' weekend at 'Casa Twack.' Two weekends off, one weekend on. One hundred and twenty customers to visit, with either an order or a new catalogue. Some will be in, some won't. I tend to write these weekends off as far as being able to do anything constructive. It's not even the time element. Yesterday we were finished by 1.40pm, a new record. It was still four hours of driving and the heat, although wonderful, is not conducive to driving in a stop start manner, plus there is no air con. Still, it's done and there are only a handful of stragglers to sort over the next couple of days.

When we first started, we would pack all the orders on a Friday, ready for delivery on the Saturday. It could take up to seven hours to pack all the orders. Now, if it takes three hours, that's the maximum. Same with the actual delivering side, which has been halved. Bear in mind also, over the years the numbers have increased, yet the time and effort has decreased.

I could waffle on with more examples but I'm pretty sure you've managed to get the point.

Don't let 'mess' give you 'stress'

Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Wow! The list is everything, I do get stressed sometimes, and the funny thing is, I decided to take a break this weekend and not do any WA or website related work.

What about after lunchtime ?

Wow!!! My head is reeling from that list...not going to add to it...it'll get worse.

I am now going to the corner to curl up in a fetal position with my Blankie...

Let them squirrels deal with Twacks wires and to do list lol, we are as 'easy as Sunday morning' hahahaha Oh dear, who let mama at the wine bottle lol and I'm let loose on here ; )

There's nowhere to hide. 'They' can still see you under the blanket.

At 9:28 AM here it's too early for wine... a blast it... it's 5 PM somewhere! Pour me one!

I am going to start wearing a Tinfoil Hat...

16.28 here. I am on the water now! I can't pass Doyle Brunson's rule number 5 if I don't hahaha and I need to write. So much to do, so little time.

I was going to say something then, and stopped myself because it opened up a whole new level of innuendo! hahaha

Start ?

One day we will all meet up and have a complete blast with squirrels and monkeys and tin foil hats!

Now that's a party.

waiting to happen! lol

*** L I K e ! ... blankiee-eezzeez! ... lol .. cheerio ... ***

I so need this giggle... 🤣🤣😜
Can I bring a Dragon or 2 as well?

Love blankie...

... love blankie-e ... good blankie-e! ... :o)

😂 Carnage.

Most parties I attend are lol

Am I allowed to swear on here if I star it out? Don't want to offend or get kicked out but my random book, post has a swear?

PM me LOL

I won't tell, no one's watching.

Trying hard to have a look of surprise but failing dismally. 😯

OK I would believe that but I have already had a violation over at Quora, don't want to be dragged into Kyles booth and warned about my bad language here too! hahaha

Like waiting for your name to be called at the end of assembly. Good times.

How do I PM you without having to go through the category police? every time I try and put a topic it just diverts me to training or posts. Am I being extra blonde today?

I think I may have answered my own question, by the blogs and training that came up.

You can come to one of my facilities if you have the foil hat and kind squirrels buuuuut if the rabid squirrel wins, I can find you another room. Either way, you are a genius.

Dragons always welcome too!

Yes we have some too but they love the moat

And breath and relax and can you tell I have had two glasses of wine and an afternoon in the sunshine, : ) respect for even getting a post done, with all that going on!

Sounds idyllic. I would be asleep by now, such a lightweight.

I have got to learn a script for work tomorrow. Tomorrow I am a clown who's lost her nose! I also have to do my months invoices. then I need to write a post for my website. And on top of all that my daughter Jessica, is making a major debate about whether to have Doritos or cheese and onion crisps.

Hang on melt down is about to happen if I don't tend to this life threatening decision!

Now I have tackled that, might put myself up for delivering world peace!

That's sounds like a perfect title in a children's book series. The postman who lost his bag, the farmer who lost his sheep/cattle/tractor. Herein lies another neverending list.
Have another glass, worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. If that means it will be 'today' no worries.

Writing can wait, I mean, I'm the boss hahaha, Invoices if I want paying, need doing. But they are not a biggie maybe an hour. Script defo needs learning as my first class is 9.30 tomorrow morning! But then again I always was a go with the flow and wing it kind of an actor lol

Yep, just divvy up the money, sorted.

You got lost in a pile of deliveries? While you were gone your post, made it to top ten. 'Twacks words of wisdom', always a winner! Have a great day my friend : ) I've got to go be a clown now!!!

What is really sad is you could have gotten another 500 words just from stuff NOT on the list. Algorithms, site speed, plug-ins, optimization, scaling, comments, feedback, Canva, CTA, CSS, dropshipping, faxicons, gravatars, FTP, GSC, Gif, Instagram, lead pages, logos, branding, menus, categories, niches, site security, SSL, taglines, headlines, Traffic, Trump, Udemy, Vegas!, Web Design, Word Press, etc.........

Mark

And yet, I'm not sad. You are right though, in so much as, the list goes on and on and on and on....no point in labouring it.

Trump hahaha Love it.

Thanks for that... I was okay until you added to the list LOL

So spot on, I loved the bit about looking at what you have achieved and not waiting until it walks all neat and tidy.
Learning slowly mistakes are all part of the learning... 🤓

Thank you Cordelia. There's so much going on, it's easy to get lost in it all. All in good time.

Congratulations!🎉🤗🌷

Thanks Janice, I appreciate you dropping by.

Absolutely! Just chill for tomorrow is a new day to face the mess. It’s normal.

Great post. Love it.

Laura

Thank you Laura. I think sometimes we forget what it was like when we started that new job. Just getting through the day was enough.
