I'm Back Did You Miss Me ?

That's right I'm back...did you miss me ? Really ?...You know that wasn't the original title I came up with twelve hours ago. Alas I was too slow in posting, so someone else had already used the main words...well, one word repeated....'You snooze, you loose'...that wasn't the title....and I wasn't sleeping, you understand. Onwards.

Already I can see a few of you scratching your heads and wondering where I had been...and yes, others sheepishly thinking that they weren't even aware that I wasn't here...technically the latter have it. I've not been anywhere, just haven't had chance to get on and put together some well-thought-out prose for you.

It has been three days, well this is the third, so that's two days...see I never know when to

count the start and the end ones...two days without a blog. I'm so bad..smack. My intention was to write one yesterday but that went right out of the window. I'll come back to that in a moment.

My intention is to alternate between 'posts' and blogs, that way I can try to get the best of both worlds...there has to be a balance. All work and no play etc etc. Let's be honest, it's not easy finding the right balance. At the present time there is no 'play' in my life, not in the true sense anyway. That's not a bad thing, just how I like to view it... If I listed what I like to do to 'unwind' or relax you might think that I'm one can short of a six-pack...you may well be right, only time will tell.

I've just 'cut' about 500 words out of this blog...500. Why ? because it had turned into a rant...well, not quite a rant but when I read it back, I might have been moaning..no one wants to read that...

So, best laid plans and all that. Yesterday just disappeared, right before my eyes. It was what it was. Nothing that I could do anything about. Move on.

Today was another matter. Alarm set as per any other day. Dogs walked. Time for some ironing but today instead of listening to the radio I decided to 'have a blast from the past'... I delved deep and came up with a selection of audio books...more like courses, self-help, motivational, seize the day, change yourself in a non-giraffe kind of way, courses.

Iron on, CD in, engage. Straight away I was 'in'. I was a little sad when I ran out of creased clothes. The last time I listened to any of this stuff has got to be seven or eight years ago.

We all learn in different ways...some listen, some watch, some write...or maybe even a combination of two or all three. I like to listen or watch. If I listen I need to make notes. One hour of listening/ironing and a page and a half of notes. All really good bullet points. Reminders.

I came away with some great ideas, not necessarily for content but more for how to approach the coming months...and there is at least another twenty-nine sessions to go..one a day, or every other day, no pressure..when I can.

How often do we listen to some really useful information and act on it, only to then forget about it over time. I must have listened to these recordings at least twice in their entirety and yet I have recall for less than ten percent of it now, maybe five...then only when something triggers the thought.

When we find these gems, they should become part of our routine lest we forget the good stuff. For me, I shall have the notes and will now create a space in my time to review them, every once in a while. Some, I hope, will remain at the forefront of my mind every day. One snippet I will share that I think is poignant in current times.

Success:

know your outcome.... Clarity is power

Take action towards your goal.... Decide and make a change.

Monitor your actions....is it working or not ?

If not, try something else until you succeed.

The above is not verbatim as it was from my notes. Heard it all before or words to that effect ? Of course you have...recently or not ? These simple instructions are right on the money. Yet how often do we actually carry any of them out. We get caught up in the day to day events in our lives. We become hyper-focused on just one aspect of what we are trying to achieve...slowly but surely the words of wisdom become fainter and fainter, replaced with other idioms or one liners...the cycle continues.

Faith...A belief that is not necessarily evidence based..yes? Not necessarily just associated with religion...many areas of life require you to have faith...but true faith, that deep, undeniable feeling, that regardless of anything to the contrary, you believe in will have a certain outcome.
This bit is mine.

Success is like faith,

You have to believe.

I mean, really believe. Know it to be true.

Right I'm off to wash more clothes. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, what's left of it.

As always, just my thoughts, rightly or wrongly.

Be well.

T,
I have been crazy busy with the SAC stuff, so I too vanished for a few days...
My goal this week is to find that Blog Balance Beam...wish me luck!
May the iron be with you!
S

I've just been 'crazy' so nothing new there...The iron is strong within me...the beam was aLways too narrow, 4" that's a hand, not a foot, which is twelve inches, that would be better...for balance. I wrote a self induced 'challenge blog' last night and ended up stealing it off myself to put on the site. Luckily I haven't noticed yet so I might get away with it. T

I like to hide my crazy behind a facade of insanity... people tend to not ask questions then!

Good post thanks for sharing

Thanks Dave, appreciate you taking the time.

Crash! Bang! Wallop! Twack!

"I'm Back Did You Miss Me?"
Of course!

Welcome back. 😊

Regards.

Crash! Bang! Wallop! Twack!
That's growing on me you know....might have to find somewhere for it...with your permission of course....Just about to introduce 'Sidetwacked' as an divergence on a theme.
Always nice to see your Gravatar. 😃

"That's growing on me you know" rofl 😊

"with your permission of course"
What? I'm honoured! Granted, in spades. 😊

"Just about to introduce 'Sidetwacked'"
Exciting stuff! I'll be on the lookout for it. 😊

"Always nice to see your Gravata"
Aw, shucks. It's nice that *someone* noticed.

Have a great one, good wordsmith.

Welcome back, Twack. I know you won't believe that I've missed you because I haven't been all that active in WA over the past few weeks, so why would I expect to be remembered. I've been struggling with new themes for my website. Anyway, I've got that sorted now. But, although I haven't been responding to your posts, I have been thinking of you and how kind you were being one who supported me through that 23-day challenge. So, I'm a bit like the elephant. I never forget and was delighted when your post appeared right in front of me, and I was able to respond.
And, talking about faith, without having faith in myself I would not achieve anything. Faith in my abilities is what keeps me going.

All the best.

Thank you Valerie and I'm glad you managed to sort your website theme. I was a pleasure following your challenge and it was a great accomplishment and thouroughly enjoyable. No easy task. Having th efaith to believe in ones self is also a hard task for many and sometimes that belief is not deep enough to carry us through the hard times. It's taking it to the next level that really changes things...

I totally agree, Twack, about benefits of going to the next 'next level'.

Nice to see you back. I agree believing in ourselves and what we are doing is very powerful! Easy to say but some what harder to do!

Thank you and yes, your'e right...that's the nub of it though, taking the next step and being totally invested...not even the smallest shadow of a doubt...I think that is actualluy quite hard of some.

Welcome back.
Yes, we have to have faith in ourselves and WA

Thanks Mickey, if we're lucky then there's someone else who has that faith to but much of the time it's down to ourselves.

We have faith and believe in you, too, Twak!
Have a fantastic work week ahead.
C & P

Likewise both and thank you. This week will be a good one. I have a blank canvas ready to be filled up.

So glad you are back, since I didn't realize you were gone. You ended with a good statement...success is like faith; you have to believe. Some of the stuff in the middle was okay, too. Hope you got your laundry all done. You like to iron? Bring your iron and come to visit. I've forgotten how to iron.

That could be a new vocation, The Mobile Ironer, full steam ahead.

Cute!

Welcome Back! And absolutely, Success is faith and we have to believe in ourselves.

Yes it is, yes we do and thank you.

Welcome Back!!!

Thanks Stuart, I appreciate that.
