How Was Your Day ?

How was your day ? Really, how was it ? Good, bad, indifferent, busy, slow, frustrating, frenetic, or maybe it was outstanding, uplifting, productive and full of joyful surprises.

I was thinking about stuff, as you do. The youngest of my four children has finished his last

year of high school and is venturing out into further education for a few more. The word 'bored' came into the conversation the other day, mainly because a couple of them were a bit 'angsty.' You know, when they're spoiling for a fight, not physical, I hasten to add, more they needed to 'vent.' Why ? They had nothing to do. Nothing. Really ? So much of their entertainment is 'fed' to them, that when it dries up, they're at a loss. I'm sure I went through various stages of boredom when I was younger, now, chance would be a fine thing.

I would love to have more hours in the day. Anyone remember when 'in the future' you were told there might be tablets that would be an entire meal. Didn't Willy Wonky manage it with his chewing gum ?

Where's this going ? Time, or the lack, there of. Our days are full and like I said in a previous post, I love it when you're up against it, as long as you can get it all done. So what throws a spanner in the works for me? The unexpected, I like to plan, not always on paper, most times in my head. If something then comes along that wasn't part of my grand scheme, everything goes to pot.

This is starting to sound like I'm moaning, I'm really not. Over the last two days I have created two more posts, done some more training and tidied a few loose ends up in regard to the websites, add to that, some EBay fundraising sales and laptop repairs as well as ironing, cooking and doing the weekly shop...which we haven't done for a couple of weeks. Throw in a couple of 'taxi runs' one into the middle of nowhere as well as 'deicing' the chest freezer.

Part of this, you may class it as a soliloquy, I know comes down to what we do. When you are 'At Work' you work and do everything that that entails. No one phones you up in the middle of the day and asks if you can find them a pair of socks, as they've run out. Mainly because they haven't bothered to put them in the wash bin.

Well, they might phone up to ask where they are, possibly. At home, it always starts with. "If you're not to busy" or "When you get chance, would you mind"

I know why it 'twists' me and it is just another of the OCD traits...routine, or lack of, or having one that then gets changed, it flips me. I try not let it but it does. It's not necessarily an outward manifestation, more an internal simmering.

All that's by the by... I was up beautifully early this morning. Plan already in my head. I wonder, sometimes, what the percentage is, of those who set their life up and it ends up exactly where they want it to be. They have it all laid out in front of them, school, college, university, job, promotions, pension, retirement. Gardening, reading the paper, 'Bridge' on a Thursday night and lunch at the local on a Sunday.

Not sure about you but that doesn't sound like fun to me. Each to their own but even so. Living by numbers. The picture is already there, you're just adding colours, grey, brown and beige.

What we're doing isn't guaranteed to be a success, no matter how much we tell ourselves it will be. So what ? What a journey to be on. It's like being part of your favourite puzzle.

Finding the next subject to write about. Researching, coming up with a unique title, utilising keywords. Writing, rewriting, adding images, checking, re-checking. Finally, publishing, getting indexed, checking analytics, making a sale or getting a referral.

Then, when you've done all of that, you can do it all over again.

I mean, that's just one facet to what we do. All the other avenues we explore with marketing, promoting, social media and videos, to name but a few.

Now, when someone asks me "How was your day ?" my response always begins with a smile.

How about you ? How was your day ?

Had a great day Twack! I have a brand new granddaughter only 36 hours old. Got to see her today.

The miracle of life has always amazed me. To see how small we all begin, growing up, and greeting the opportunities that are waiting out there.

She is my 13th grandchild. Yes, my children reproduce like bunnies..lol.

Today was a good day.

Michael

That's fantastic news Michael, congratulations. I still have all that to look forward to. Having four children, the odds are in our favour.

Twack,My day was awesome. When i was growing up back then we used to do our chores and our homework. An from one sports to the next. It was back then not enough time. Not boring. All the best to you on a excellent post. Keep up the good work. And may your journey be successful.

Thank you Fitzgerald, sounds like childhood as it should be.

Busy, hectic, fun, lunch out and then best of all..... shut away in my office to work. Love it!

All kids have boring times, especially teens. When mine use to say they were bored I would suggest a few things, wait for the inevitable boring each time. Then ask if they really had nothing at all to do. Of course they said yes, then I would produce a list of things needing doing. End of boredom, they suddenly had a million exciting things to do. Lol.

Can't think of anything more boring than a life that is all planned out and follows it precisely. Now that would be boring. After all life is about change, the unexpected, adventures and magic, the highs and lows, the laughter and tears. Most of all, love of people and life.
Ooops, got carried away, I'll leave it anyway.

It is true to say that each and every day is full of variety and has been for a number of years. A mental list that sometimes gets completed.
Ahead ? Who knows and that excites me.

That's just the way it should be. Variety is the spice of life.

I have been struggling with the Woo Commerce on a new website and this evening it finally clicked and I added a product. Yay and more Yay!!

Yay indeed, well done, a very satisfying feeling.

It was, now I can load everything else on it. Will be my first go at dropshipping.

I've just read your latest post, unfortunately I have no experience, whatsoever, so cannot add to the discussion. Good luck though.

Thank you for reading it anyway. I have been thinking about doing it for a while and reading various blogs where its mentioned so thought I would enquire of the community.

Got stuff done, got some exercise, learned some new stuff, and a bit of light procrastination.
All in all not a bad day!

"bit of light procrastination." Now that made me smile.

:-)

🙏

Hey Twack, always love your posts. Well, my day was good. I'm batching this week as my bride is off with friends in Cape Cod (dirty job, but someone has to do it), so I get to dog and cat sit, plus try to do some WA stuff.
Did succeed in writing a couple blogs and a tutorial, so guess it was a good day after all.
Hope yours finishes good as well.
Best
Joe

Such a productive day Joe. Mine is ending with,

'John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers with Gary Moore - So Many Roads'

playing through my headphones as I type this reply. Never heard it before, so all is well with the world.

😊

My day is great also for a cat reason. Yesterday it seemed that my 14 or 15 year old cat was sick, but today she is back to feisty. Hooray!

It seems that today has a 'feline' theme running through it. Good to hear that your cat is back in form.

MEOW! (Cat walking across my laptop keyboard)

Such a talent.

My day is going well so far!

I always heard that in the future technology was going to give us more time in our day. My experience seems to be that I have more to do than ever before.

Every time we research, write, and everything else you mentioned, we get to learn!

Have a great rest of your day!

Hi Justin, thank you for dropping by. You are right, I think we manage to squeeze more into our days, the upside is that we are capable of achieving so much more, I guess.
My day just got better, as I just joined your network, consider yourself followed.

Today? Today has been Cat Emulation Day. This consists of primarily nothing but laying about, stretching, and laying about a bit more. There's the occasional snack or drink, perhaps a bit of reading, but mostly laying about in unconscious, undirected thought. I believe the human term for this is lethargy.

Early on in the day, I gave some consideration to actually accomplishing something today but rather quickly shoved that notion aside, stretched, then curled back up and took a quick nap. I dreamt I was growing a luxurious coat of fur and craving a nice gentle brushing.

It's been a lovely day so far. As long as my daughter doesn't find that laser pointer it should remain that way.

Have to say, it sounds like Lou Reed would be proud.
'Why do today, what you can put off till tomorrow'

Smiling here as well, and I agree..."What a journey to be on."

Cris

Isn't it. I know we shouldn't but sometimes I wistfully think how life might have been different had we found WA earlier. I know that's not how it works and serves no purpose. Still, now we're here, might as well make up for lost time.

Haha. Yes, every good thing in life we wish we had encountered sooner. We just have to soak in the present moment, and create the best future we can!
