Holding Onto The 'Good Stuff'

Right now is one of those times. Good times. However, this is not always going to be the case, which is why I have made steps to make sure I am always holding onto the good stuff.

It wouldn't be me if there weren't a few digressions along the way, maybe these little wandering offs are my replacement for images, I mean I still use images but if I didn't digress how much less entertaining would this be. You follow ?

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water, is a reference to the film Jaws, it is also a phrase that is bandied around when the proverbial hits the fan, when you weren't necessarily expecting it. Maybe everyone was just starting to get a bit 'antsy' whilst waiting for the next SAC assignment, or there was a full moon, those magnetic fields can wreak havoc on the body's finely tuned electromagnetic fields.

Back on point then, no need to sift through the wreckage this morning, it's a beautiful day and there's washing on the line and the smell of freshly cut grass in the air. All good as long as you're not a hay fever sufferer, sorry if you are, no fun at all.

Plenty to be thankful and grateful for then, yes ? I think so. This weekend just gone has been a 'testing' one. Third weekends are always busy, during the run up to as well. Add to that the tooth saga and the last week of getting the loose ends tied up for here. Busy, busy, busy. Plus, no less important to you but fairly irrelevant to me, estranged family trying to 'touch base'.

Yet with all that going on I wake every day excited to be able to participate in life, to add to the

cauldron with my own secret ingredient, we all have one. For some, though, this is not always the case, in fact their sprinkling into the pot will only cause a bitterness that will need sluicing away. I sluice, all gone. I keep all the 'Good Stuff' at the forefront of my mind, why wouldn't I ?

Our minds are incredible but hey do struggle to 'focus' on more than one item at a time. Focus, as in 'In the now' That being said, when a negative does try to worm its way in, it is replaced almost instantly with something from my catalogue of 'Good Stuff'.

How many good things have happened already this week. Well, let's see. The new assignment came through last night, so today we will have the most possible time in front of us to complete it. That's awesome.

Our tumble dryer broke a few weeks ago and due to time constraints and having six bodies worth of washing to get through on an almost daily basis a replacement (second hand) was purchased. My intention was to fix the old one but with taking it apart and ordering the right parts it could take over a week. It's wrapped up and sat outside, waiting patiently. Yesterday, while sifting through some old paperwork I found a 'Warranty' certificate for the old tumble dryer and it doesn't expire until 2022. Unexpected bonus.

I had a conversation about EBay the other day, along the lines of,some items can be on there for a long time and may never sell, I gave the example of a pair of bonnet hinges I have had sat around for a few years, low and behold, last night they sold. Not only that, I sold a car, subject to collection, of course. It just keeps on coming.

I have forged some new connections here and at the same time clarified a few things that I had only previously surmised.

If you like listening to music do you keep all your least favourite tracks/albums at the top of your playlist ? I wouldn't have thought so, be a bit counter-productive. How about your 'comfort foods'. If it's chocolate do you say 'no' I'll have some boiled rice instead (unless your favourite is boiled rice)

We reach for certain things in our lives that we know will give us a certain 'feeling' or change our 'state' Nothing to stop you doing the same with what goes on inside your head. It is a choice, your choice.

I just love how you think of things that I would never have thought about at first glance.
But once I read your entire post I realize the same things are running in the background of my own mind.
Crazy good!
KyleAnn

Sometimes I just don't try and make sense of it, it makes for a less complex life. What is, is. Always good to have your thoughts KyleAnn. Crazy good indeed.

Congrats! EBay is funny that way. Items can sit on there forever then all of a sudden sell. I was getting ready to donate an item the other day and it finally sold. Challenge can be finding that item then.

I have definitely been there, joy followed by an hour or more of sifting through boxes.

Twack thanks for that share and more grace.

Cheers.

You're always welcome David. Be well.

Great post by the way. Thanks for sharing. I have a music file I listen to on youtube and my favorite food can vary with my mood. :)

Thank you Jana. I have a notebook by my computer which is now full of..er ..notes but plenty of them are pieces of music I've stumbled upon. Every now and then I'll open a page and pick one and into Youtube I disappear for the evening if I'm not careful.

One of my favorites:

Short, simple, succinct. I might have to borrow that one please, you can have it back afterwards.

Feel Free... I can share my toys...LOL

Thank you. It actually gave me an idea for some 'thunking' I thought it would be interesting to start with 'A' and work through the alphabet. Might work better with three associated words, or words that fit a theme. I'm off to play then, while the oven hasn't beeped.

We're all into choices

Sometimes we don't always believe there is a choice but there is, we may not like it though.

Definitely hold onto the good stuff it can be the thing that sustains us when the bad stuff comes knocking looking for friends.

It can be amazing there is always something new, the ways and flow of WA is so very subtle.

In both instances, very true. Over the years I have managed to leave a sign on the door, it gets knocked rarely these days.

Thank you Twack. As we have many life connections, I found, (triggered by tour post), to ackowledge we, though are individuals, on a life journey.
Sounds selfish. Not meant to be, as our connections and circumstances all come together to shape who we are.
Growth is the game and of course touching the lives of others.
I reflected this way aafter reading your post.
Thank you again. Busy you are.
Have a great day.
Ken
