Ever Seen A Guru Dab ? Now Time For A Rest.

Have you ever seen a Guru dab ? Now that's enlightenment. No other way I could think of to put it. I warn you now, I have a rough outline on this but there is a distinct possibility that things might go off course. It's about time, in my opinion. I have been slightly staid of late. Reasons ? Well, that will be for another time, for now let's get it on.

There always seems to be a few days when everyone touches on the same subjects with their blogs. Maybe because one post has triggered the same thoughts among many of us or maybe some external factor has brought us in line, I'm not sure.

Well ,as you know, by now, one doesn't always do things by the book, as it were. Or follow the trend. So, there'll be no moaning, sniping, griping or just plain audible exasperation here. That ship has sailed. 'Bon Voyage' and were I anything except a tea-totaller I would have smashed a bottle of bubbly on the side. Have it.

I have a backlog of possible blogs. There are now thirty. Some with just a title and some with a few notes to remind me of whatever it was I had intended to write about. I am trying to work my way through them but no sooner have I crossed one off the list, than another one appears, what a liberty.

Originally I was going to write about the importance of 'taking a break' every so often. I still will, now that I have segued nicely into it. My original title was to be 'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy' For most of us that line will conjure up images of Jack Nicholson acting his socks off whilst putting the 'fear' into poor old Wendy. A true example of how putting too much

pressure on yourself can result in tense times. We are all guilty of it at some point or another. It is self-induced. The targets we set are our own. Of course we use the excuse of 'This is what it takes to succeed' or ' That's what I'm told I have to do' and many more I'm sure.

Here's the thing though. There are no 'Internet Police' there is no 'roll call' where you have to present you work to the teacher for approval. No one is hacking into your back office and checking your word count.

Yes, we all want success and for some we want it sooner rather than later. At what cost ? Are you becoming an 'Internet Recluse' ? Now, I'm not saying to 'down tools' and pick up your guitar and wander off into the sunset. There has to be a balance. Whether you do this on an hourly, daily or weekly basis is up to you. Some may find they work best when under pressure, going at it 24/7 until the assignment or quota is reached and then metaphorically collapsing for a day or two. Others may find it best to work at a steady pace with regular breaks during sessions of work. However you work it, it's important to make time for you. You're not going to get in trouble if you adjust your goals or targets. Like I said, it's a balancing act. The quote below sums it up quite nicely.

So there we have it. A brief reminder that needs no 'evidence based proof' to back it up. You work too hard and the downside ultimately can lead to you becoming disillusioned and 'tarnished' with no impetus to continue. Take a break, if not now then later or tomorrow, just make sure you do. You'll feel better for it and so will those around you, believe me.

Look at that, where has the time gone, this was meant to be a short one and we haven't even touched on the 'Guru' yet. I now longer have to provide a tenuous link as I've already covered the tangent, didn't see that coming did you ? I do have a link though, just so you don't think Ii make this stuff up as I go along, as if.

As part of my ongoing 'life' education, I like to enjoy the occasional foray into the wonderful world of YouTube. It is a huge resource and one that we are all begining to realise is a game changer in regard to our online business. If we haven't already, then we will at some point, be venturing into that world. Anyway, I like to listen to music whilst I'm working and then occasionally I will release the keyboard from my grasp and watch something of interest. Of late I have been listening to music being played at 432Hz. This fits with my own personal view on 'multitasking'. Just doing two things at the same time.Win win. Look up the whole 432Hz thing if you like, take it or leave it, tis up to you, personally I feel that it has, at the very least, enhanced my mood.

After listening whilst writing, I had a break and flicked over to the YouTube screen and had a look down the sidebar. All the suggestions based on your current viewing are there. Well, being in a rather relaxed frame of mind I decided to have a little dabble into some, what can only be described as, 'Mantra music'. In particular, I was drawn towards one entitled 'Ajeet Kaur Live' It was a feast of melodic sounds with some of the more traditional instruments. I can't give it a label or a genre, let's just say it ticked a few of my boxes. One video led to another and my short break turned into an hour, my bad.

By the time I had reached the umpteenth plus one video, I had moved away from festival music and was now inside a building watching a group of artists playing in front of a few hundred people, all sat cross legged with one sat, front and centre, in a big armchair. Judge ye not, music is music and I could well have still been writing with my headphones on. With a little bit of sideline research I ascertained that the, the gentleman at the front, was a Guru. Everyone looked like they were having the best day at work ever, so happy. The music was ramping up and then, out of nowhere, 'Dab.' It's something the younger generation do and if you drop one in at the most inopportune moments you can embarass your children, hugely, however they also give you big 'respect', as long as you do it right.

Just like the guy in the picture. It was a bit surreal, to say the least. A handful of those sat nearby who had eyes on him, caught it and couldn't' help but laugh. He grinned and carried on enjoying the sounds. In all honesty, it made my day. I couldn't even tell you why, it just did. Maybe because it was so unexpected and not something you would imagine a person in his position to do. It showed a lighter side. A side that said, I am not above having some fun no matter the mantle of responsibility of the work I do. Kudos.

Work is work, it's hard at times and we give our all for the betterment of our lives and of those closest to us. We push ourselves every day to research more, write more, study more.

Sometimes you just have to stop and take a break. Other times it pays not to take ourselves to seriously. There are plenty of quotes out there that will convey my words better than I but I will leave you with a few lines from the poem 'Solitude' by Ella Wheeler Wilcox.

'Laugh, and the world laughs with you;
Weep, and you weep alone.
For the sad old earth must borrow its mirth,
But has trouble enough of its own.'

This is a long one and has hopefully given you a break and maybe even made you smile.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

You have touched on so many things my tiny brain was unaware of, now the rest of my day will be spent figuring out what heck it all means...thanks a lot!
KyleAnn

You are welcome.
My work here is done.😃

T,
Not sure I can Dab to 432Hz, but dang... the thought waves went NUTS!!

The Squirrels are running now! (Brain Fm is a good place for this as well).

Shaunna

Hahaha Now there is a party waiting to happen, @Twacks 432Hz Dabbing party hahahaha

Trampoline Dab Dance Off

I love it when a plan comes together!!

LOL

Who is who? hahahaha

I should be able to get that station on my D.A.B. radio.

Thank you. I had no idea what a dab even was. You have enlightened me. Jim

I now use it as a way to 'get back at' with the offspring. Nothing worse than an embarrassing dad. That together with wearing 'sliders' outside of the house and they truly can diminish in stature before your very eyes. One takes sweet pleasure where one can.

I was told by my 12 year old son that 'Dabbing is so last year Mum!' Notice the 'Mum' and not 'Mummy' too. I am now 'Mum' because 'Mummy is so babyish'.

You are so right, stepping away from the keyboard and taking a break can be just the inspiration and motivation to help you work more motivated and efficient when you return.

As you say, it is purely a personal choice and decision. we are all here on own paths, there is no principle, ticking and marking our work or giving us detention if we don't complete an article a day. We are our own judge and boss.

I have learned on my break from the keyboard, to stay focused on my goal and plan, but also to step back and see the much bigger picture, and the 'long game'. Also another's judgement or opinion does not need to be listened or reacted to, because that is their own reflection, not mine.

And so as I return to the keyboard, I give a really embarrassing Dab, and know that I am my own guru, and I make my own rules. (embarrassing dancing in the kitchen, and Mum Dabs included)

Much Love

Back with a bang, or as Gabriel would say, a 'BOOM'.
It is indeed easy to get swept up and into a 'bubble' It is only when we step back and look from the outside back in that we can see with a greater clarity.
Not one for quoting large portions of texts, I will make an exception as I cannot find a way to link, as it is only in image form. Ironically, this was not the one I was looking for, I will continue searching, however, this works:

I see through different eyes.
I see a bigger picture when others see grey skies.
Though many can't conceive it,
I stand...facing the wind.
My bravery not from fighting,
but from my strength within,
I am a Warrior.
I will walk the extra mile,
Not because I have to,
Bt because it's worth my while.
I know that I am different,
When I am standing on a crowded street.
I know fullness of winning;
I've tasted the cup of defeat.
I am a Warrior.
They say I walk with ease.
Though trained for bodily harm,
My intentions are for peace.
The world may come and go,
But a different path I'll choose.
Apath I will not stray from,
No matter... win or lose.

Title: 'The Way of the Warrior,' didn't find an author's name.

BOOM! I love it, and I am copying to be mounted on my desk. Yes like many seeking missions, I have discovered 'the gold' was right here all along : )

Dab on, dude....

True that.

Street Twack is so funny! I am on my laptop keyboard so can't accompany with the laughing emojis this needs!!

For real, I'm down with it.

Hi Twack,
I have always known that people perform better when there is a balance in their life and activities.

It's one of the reasons, I settled with promoting holiday, leisure and everything that will make holiday and enjoyable experience through my website https://innovationmarketingideas.com. Though the site is still quite young and small, the message is there.

Many thanks for sharing your thoughts. I have taken so much inspiration from the post for my website.

Wishing you all the best.

Segun

Thank you Segun. Indeed true, for sure. Having the balance enables us to experience everything in life on our own terms.

BOOM!

"Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now, We're On The Move...."

Hello Prof Dr Twack,

You get to hear a little new age music and now you are betraying the highest standards set by the illustrious British Royal Navy Observatory Academy For Excellence?

Remember the Travis Manion Foundation motto?

"If Not Me, Then Who?"

We shall never retreat (except for the soothing ocean waters and the white sand beaches of British Virgin Islands, as the only acceptable retreat) except during union breaks and tea and crumpets time.

Now back to Earth again.

Great reminder and one we all need to heed.

In light of that, did you approve my 4 weeks vacation for St. Maarten?

Please let me know ASAP I need to catch those hot summer fares.

After that, I may be out of the loop, as you had recommended in your post.

Blessings!

Back with a BOOM Gabriel. Vacation approved, although, is four weeks going to be enough ?

BOOM!

Dr Prof Emeritus Honoris Causa Twack, Sir!

The white sand beaches of Anguilla would not tolerate my presence longer, than 4 weeks, nor will I gradually wimp out and ask you to assign me a "safe space" or "panic room' at the prestigious British Naval Observatory Academy For Pavlovian Reflexes' Studies.

I will come back to dreary rainy London humming "I Still Got Sand In My Shoes" by Dido and ready for the Centurions' Club Monday night poker game, sans Sara Poyner, whom I suspect to be an MI6 operative distracting us with talk of trampoline dance battles while she would deploy artifices and strategies to empty our pockets of "Et Pluribus Unum" currency to insulate herself financially from the uncertainties of Brexit and of her 2021 viral video series launch potential flop.

Speaking of Anguilla, see below Wiki and photo, however beautiful it is, those locals there were on "island time: and we had to wait until they felt like looking after us. Not the same warm experience we had in St. Maarten, next door so to say.

The British Virgin Islands (BVI), officially simply the Virgin Islands, are a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean, to the east of Puerto Rico. ... The British Virgin Islands consist of the main islands of Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, and Jost Van Dyke, along with over 50 other smaller islands and cays.

Blessings!

We don't choose where we're born, yet we have a choice of where we live. We seldom make the choice that would ultimately bring us the happiness we seek. I'm not being 'shallow' in that a 'place' will bring happiness but it might make the journey a little more enjoyable were the sun to be present and warm upon our backs for the majority of each year.

BOOM! I'm in for Monday night Poker. I have found the Gold!!

BOOM!

Sara, pardon my sheer ignorance of the Big Isles, but wasn't it only My Lucky Charms, the Irish dude who get the gold up there, north of Calais en France?

Please do not tell Prof Dr Twack that I have failed miserably the genealogy part nor do I get into Ancestry.com or 23andMe which are but data and DNA harvesting trojan horses outfits which will probably tell me in their reports that I am of British royal descent and somehow related to Dr Twack....

Blessings!

Hahaha now there is a thought! How could I not return to the gold of Dr Twack throwing out the Dabs!!

BOOM!

BOOM!

So happy that I have my beaten up Chevy pickup truck in which I can cruise on the dusty roads with my driver's side window rolled down and a toothpick in the corner of my mouth and not feel as stuffy as Prof dr Twack aka Jason Statham wanna be in his Jag.

Even though there are unmatched cheap paint patches on my sweet ole Chevy pick-up truck with eclectic rust sports and bird droppings on the windshield at least my driving wheel is on the right, err, I mean left side of the dash and I drive on the right side of the road, that is pure freedom and then when you combine that with my NAP (North American Partnership) partner Shaunna who uses "borrowed" Royal Canadian Mounted Police horses to chase off the pesky squirrels, you can see what a force to reckon we are, don't ya?

Blessings!

BOOM! or a fantastic alliance ; )
