There is also a TED talk with the same title by Simon Sinek, that explains the concept.
In this image below you can see the 3 circles, it's like a target and this is called the 'golden circle'.
In the center of the Golden Circle is Your Reason Why, and this is the most important part.
In the middle circle is the 'How' How you will accomplish your Reason Why;
In the outer circle is the 'What' What are all the action steps you must take to make your Reason Why manifest in the material world.

Like yourself, I believe that the Law of Attraction is a real thing ... but the movie "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne does not tell the complete story in that you DON'T create "what you want" ... but instead, you create "who you are!" The more you focus on what you what ... you are actually sending a strong Low-frequency signal of NOT having ... so the Universe responds by giving you more of what you are sending out ... so you continue to get more of "not-having." It sound like you understand this so ... way to go!
