I've added ads for Groupon, Amazon and BedandBreakfast.com. What do you think about ad selection, placement, style, etc.?

Here's a sample page:

Hi, like your website, looks neat. I just noticed something about your B&B ad about an 'offer that's expired'. You might need to delete this promo. Otherwise , it's perfectly fine sitting on one side.

Thanks for pointing that out!

Hi there I would be above the fold or at the bottom--I want my visitors to see content first and read, then see my ad ---all side ads fine --

I would put the Groupon add right above the fold.
Just me humble opinion :)
Nice work!

Tropics67 - I gotta tell ya .... when I clicked on the link just now - my eyes got really huge, they blinked and my mouth said "WOW"! Reflex is such a honest answer. It truly looks so much better and totally NOT in your face! :-)

@AMcMaster--yes, I was wondering about the centering issue! Thanks for the tip!

Your welcome. :)

OK - so I'm giving you my honest feedback (as we all do here at WA) ... promise me you'll do the same when I (finally) get as far as you have?

The Amazon & B&B ads are in great locations. They are visible but not slammed in your face the way so many sites are. You did awesome!

Here's my 2-cents worth about the Groupon ad (which you probably shouldn't listen to since I haven't gotten to ad placement in training yet - but here goes anyway :-) )...

You know when you walk into a store how there is an area of empty space before the onslaught begins (think WalMart or any mall store)? Those areas are to provide us with an emotional safety net. You know ... get 'em comfortable before the spending begins. Well, all I could see was the Groupon ad - it's in the safety net space.

I really like that it is lengthwise and not horizontal. I'm not about to attempt to offer placement suggestion because this comment in and of itself shouldn't really be paid much attention to since I haven't gotten to this lesson yet. The site itself looks great and I know you'll continue updating and get it ranked high! God Bless! ~Cathy

CathyS, I did think about that. I purposefully showed the page with the most ads (as of now). Because of exactly your concern, I decided to not have that ad show on the home page http://ruralattractions.com/

Does that make a difference or do you think it is still too in your face at the top of each post?

I really value your input.

Your site is great. It gives me a lot of insight as to how I should set up my sites. As for the Amazon ads, I don't think they are intrusive though am wondering they should be on a page of products you like to recommend maybe with the addition of product reviews. The B&B offer looks fine where it is.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm not sure if I'm going to go the route of product reviews or not...still trying to work out my overall direction. But I'll keep that in mind.

I thought it looked great!

aesthetically and pleasing-the-google wise, I would say just fine...the ads other than the surprisingly classy Groupon one do not show above the fold, and they fit well...can't see anything less than good about any of it!

On both places the adverts are not intrusive. It does not look spammy or get in the way of the visitor. I think you have done very well here. Both websites look amazing!

Thanks for your quick response!
(I probably wasn't clear--the bedandbreakfast site isn't mine--I'm an affiliate. Just the ruralattractions.com site is mine)

Love your website. Nice clean design too. You see your bed and breakfast affiliate link in the widget area? You can center it instead of it being left justified. Maybe this doesn't worry you but my OCD kicked in with mine lol.

If you want to center just place

before the code and
after. :)
