Want to share with all of you what I discovered on LinkedIn this morning...

And, it has been tested and was shared by SEO - Focused Content Marketer Ross Hudgens.

Hi Triblu, thanks for your great information..Ta Cheers

I find this very Informative and helpful.

Thank YOU Tony... and THANK YOU for READING my question.

Sadly, reading the comments to Kyle's comment below, proves to me just how many members have NOT read what I wrote.

This makes perfect sense to me...he's being transparent, showing when the article was first published and last updated -- this is an excellent way to show the article's relevance.

-Mike

Thanks Mike.

Makes sense! People want to read the most current information, not something that was published months or years ago.

Yes Mary, you are sooo right.

When I read Ross's tip, I realized how true his suggestion is, simply because I too am guilty for overlooking older posts for the recent one, in my SERPs.

If the update to your page was meaningful enough, then show the last updated. You don't need to show the Publish date if you are updating your content, and that is something that you actually wouldn't want.

If you are trying to "trick" Google by simply making a small edit to update the date, then that won't work however. If you are going to be making a useful update to improve your content, then that can positively impact your rankings.

So your actual content is going to impact your rankings, not a mere "date" change. Google is far more advanced than this line of thinking.

No trick Kyle... just a shared tip I learned on LinkedIn today.

And, you obviously agree with what Ross Hudgens shared.

Thank You!

Yep, I think the point here is that you need to be creating quality, useful content - whether you're publishing something for the first time or updating it. Either way, quality not garbage with the intention of tricking Google.

Thanks, Kyle :) It is greatly appreciated.

If so, does your search textbox return a proper search result?

I have one site left to convert to the Block Editor and I am wondering if THAT is the issue, or something

Sorry, I use the basic GP theme.

-Mike

I use GP premium and Classic Editor. However, the way I use it is to set the layout, add feature image, disable the title, image and footer, then save as draft to use Elementor to style the page.

I dont know if the search action is affected in any way.

Rudy

Hi there, Trish,

I am using Generate Press Premium. Actually, my GP plugin was installed by someone that I have as an Authorized User on my site. So, I didn't personally install it, if that makes sense.

In terms of the Search Box, I am getting desired results.

Rachele

Hey Rachelle, are you using the Classic Editor or the Block Editor?

If so, private message me, as I have a URL to share with you.

I tried applying but sadly 😥 they do NOT accept ANYONE outside of the United States.

I would

Hey Trish ,i know Joe (
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/joerebisz)
is in the dog niche, but is having issues at the moment ( tripped over his cat and broke his back and now recovering)...
would it be possible to inform him of the opportunity...
many thanks
phil

Thanks Phil, please let him know, as I will only offer the URL if requested. I'm NOT a pusher... LOL!

So far... one member whose niche is pets has already asked, AND this is a time-limited offer from the vendor, I'm certain of it... so, if Joe isn't online for days, then that offering may have already been fulfilled.

ok - i will send him a pm and let him contact you....
thanks Trish...

Thanks

That's very kind of you, Trish!

Jeff

Thank you, I’ll PM you!

That's really nice of you, Trish :) Random acts of kindness.

There was a question asked recently (not this one) where I became involved in a chat amongst the comments. I cannot remember 😏 what the question was so that I can find

Hey Tris,
As per Jay (as far as I can remember) use generate block plug-in.

Problem now solved Anusuya.
See Phil's and my discussion below...

Sometimes accepting change is good for you. The block editor is way better than classic , just do one site and try using all the blocks in a trial page, you will never go back.

any questions, ask Marion LOL

Peter H

Hey Peter,

You might not think so if you had as many sites to tend to as I do.

Don't mind building with Blocks from scratch but it's another thing to fix a site that is over 10 years old when the owners don't want to spend any more money on their site.

I know this has been marked as solved. But what you wrote about it is a reason why I switched to Thrive Themes. It negates any frustration presented by limitations with free and paid themes.

Hey Dave,

Until Thrive pulls the plug on their support for THAT product too.

They've done this twice to me over the years, so I no longer trust they will stick with the products they develop.

Plus, I've found a less expensive, every bit as reliable, with loads of templates... product that puts Thrive's to shame for price AND support.

Anyone interested can ask me in a private message and I will GLADLY share the name of that product and you won't be given an affiliate link either.

was it this one Trish i had a look at wp edit and that is well outdated...
https://pluginarchive.com/wordpress/wp-edit/v/4-0-4 ( only place i could find it)
the other one i found was wp smart editor...
https://www.joomunited.com/wordpress-products/wp-smart-editor
but disabling the classic then only allows me to edit in the block editor...
i wonder what they are going to do with that switch in hte future...as support is disappearing will that switch...
meaning there will only be one editor available...
i suspect that there wil lbe another couple of plugins appearing between now and the end of the year...but it all depends on what happens with the alternative editor switch or the plugins may have to be a block within the block editor....
i hope you find a solution trish...
phil

BIG HUGS to you Phil!

That was the EXACT chat. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed. It took me long enough to trust WP... now they're doing this makes me a tad upset, knowing that SOOOOO many websites are being forced to change because THEY are forcing changes like these.

Hi - this one? Seems to be a combination of Classic and Block Editor.

https://wordpress.org/plugins/tinymce-advanced/

It MIGHT be Diane, though that doesn't ring any bells for me.

Thank YOU!

I wonder why Jay never mentioned that one when he said that Classic would be going out.

Hi - I don't know to be honest. Classic Editor will still be around for a while yet, it just won't be supported or updated after December 31 2021.

Yeah, that's my understanding as well :) Guess I should switch over to Block or even tinymice lol

Hi Trish, probably Block Editor :)

Sorry Joe, I will update my question... as I want to be able to keep the Classic Editing ability. Thank YOU for bringing to my attention that I did not express myself properly. I shall update this now.

I can't recall seeing notification of any of your recent trainings Trish - I do try t look at my notifications, but dot always catch them all.
I will look out for yours in the future - hope you get it sorted :)
Come to think of it, I really don't think I got a notification of your question, I saw it in the dashboard.

Hmmm... sure is makin' me wonder.
Thanks Chrissie!

I only recently turned on the notifications and then blogged yesterday or the day before to show people how to do it, so hopefully that will help.

It has been months Mel, which is odd considering most members respond to new training.

If the tutorials I am creating are of no value there really is not point in my creating them... but if no one is receiving notice of them being published that would be another issue.

I agree, which is why I blogged on how to get notified of new training - many members said they didn't know that was possible.
