Hello everyone,
So for my gaming niche, I feel that I need to create a price comparison shop for it.
Does anyone here have any price comparison plugins to recommend
I am not quite sure about the plug in for price comparison. Have you tried searching related questions in the seaech box? :)
Hey Edwin,
In Google searching "price comparison wp plugin" (without the quotation marks, of course) there a few plugins offered, along with posts suggesting which are better than others.
Running this search (or similar) you may find the information you receive there to be very helpful.
Personally, I have only ever created one product comparison table as mine offers NO prices due to the products each being from Amazon... and, I created the table manually as I learned HTML long before WordPress was ever offered.
Hope this helps you.
Anyone built a price comparison website?

I've published a new post 2 days ago and it has already been indexed by Google whereas another blog, which has been out for a week already, has yet to catch Google's attention.
Oh, if only we knew.
Like God, Google moves in mysterious ways, its wonders to perform.
Your best bet is to implement the Google Search console. This will allow you to check individual pages on your site to see how they're going and if there are any issues.
Hi Edwin, at the beginning with a new site it can take time to get content indexed and ranked
The more content you produce the quicker the process. Just go with the flow things do improve.
It can be a time thing.
Have a look at this training by Jay you may find it very helpful and very workable.

Thanks Alex! You too!
Starting out really isn't easy and it'll take a few months more before things can start to take off.
Just hang in there Edwin, it can take time for things to fall into place we have all been in your position if we are honest I know that I have been.
If you get stuck then just reach out, all good.

So I've recently learnt about how a sitemap helps Google and Bing crawl my site but how often should I be submitting a new one to them? Do I have to do it for every new post I
I am not sure if I am understanding you correctly but, I submit each and every post. Right after I finish writing it.
Bing allows you to submit 40 links a month to start off with. I have submitted my post constantly so, I guess they have increased my submission to a 1000 a month now. Although that is way too many posts for me to create within a month.
And Google I am not sure of how many posts you can submit but, they have never complained as of yet.
Right after I submit the post. The content is indexed into Google within minutes or within 48 hours. Although, this is not guaranteed.
After submission, Google will show you a message saying that your sitemap has been submitted and that it will be in priority status. Something like that.
Now, it is not a requirement to submit each and every post. I just do. I got this advice from our WA Jay trainer a while back. If I could find the video I would drop the link, however, I can't remember what he has it labeled under.
To submit a post to Google you will go to Google search console and on the left, it says URL inspection or you can use the sitemap. Drop your link in there and click submit. Then wait for Google to give you the confirmation.
With Bing it is so much easier in my opinion. Anyways, you log into Bing on the left-hand menu you will select the would submit URL. Drop your link in there and that's it. Bing doesn't give you a confirmation. But, know that it is was submitted.
Here is a video of how to submit to Google search console. I think it is the older version of Google search console but, it is the same concept. How to Submit Your Latest Blog Post to Google Search Console without the errors This video might be useful as well Things to Do After You Publish a Blog Post I hope this helps...
Basically a sitemap will describe the structure of your site ... A new post wont create a new architectural level ... so won't change the sitemap ... On the other hand a new page, a new menu element, etc could change the site structure, in which case is recommended to re-submit the sitemap

I'm trying to link to an affiliate link and i remember seeing somewhere that the links should load within the current tab instead of opening a new tab. Can anyone guide me on t
There are two camps here. The yes, open it in a new tab and the no, it hurts your SEO groups.
I used to be in group one. I always thought, opening them in a new window was doing them a favor and keeping my site open for them to return to.
It was actually Jay's post and comments that changed my mind. In fact I just changed all my links on my site yesterday.
Here's his post: SEO Knowledge: External Link
Yes the main reason is that when they click your link to check it out and then close it they will also lose your website and may not return.
You would do the same even if they click an internal link as well
Here is a training by Loes that can help you understand more. Open affiliate link in new tab 1 This is the main purpose of ticking the box to open in a new tab.

two schools of thought. I understand that it is better for Seo tactics if they don't open in a new tab.
When I post a blog post, I say on the bottom, share this and leave a comment before you click off this page. This gives the reader the idea that the tab will not open up. The idea is to let people know that it will not automatically open in a new tab and that they will need to right click. Most people know how the web works these days. I also use a button that says take me to......, so they can take action before moving forward.
When I am sending someone to another blog post, I tend to open in a new tab. When I am sending to my WA, or other, review page then I don't open in new tab. I want them to take action, not keep coming back and floating around, if you get my drift. If my second blog post has a call to action to WA, then I again don't open in a new tab because I don't want them going back and not eventually ending up here..
Everyone is different, but this is what I generally do.
Always set your Affiliate links to open in a new window. This has 2 effects, firstly it keeps your website open, decreasing your bounce rate and 2 the surfer can always click back to your site instead of doing another search and possible landing on another site. If it is a WA Affiliate link then probably not such a problem, but I personally still open them in a new window, probably out of habit.
A good question and I am sure you will have equal answers on both options. Personally, I get my affiliate links to open in a new window/tab. This allows the site visitor to go back to where they started from when they have finished with the affiliate page. Makes for a smoother visitor experience in my opinion.

isn't it showing the category - so add categories to your product range and then change the products to the categories and it will show the breadcrumb to the category for easy navigation back to the main shop.
good luck

Oh... I see. So that's how it works. Thank you!
