Where Will You Be in 6 Months?

It's July 1st.

So, 'Happy Canada Day' to those of you from Canada! And 'Happy 1st Day of the Second Half of the Year' to the rest of you!

Inspired by Jeffrey's post, I'd like to share with you my goals for the next 6 months; and the results I will have achieved by December 31, 2014, with G-d's help.

And... I'm going to write it in the past tense. You know what they say about the mind... can't differentiate between imagination and reality. (I've still got a hard time with that one, but I'll take it at face value for now :)

Wealthy Affiliate

1. I have worked on 1 lesson per week until the 4 Certification courses were successfully completed.

2. I have blogged once a week on WA.

3. I have published 1 training per month.

4. I have brought in 100 member signups. (I was aiming for the 300 premium signups and was hoping to make it to Vegas. My priorities have changed however, and my website is now first and foremost an opportunity to create positive change in the world and promoting WA has taken a backseat to that.)

Project SWAG

1. I have posted 1-2 workshops per week.

2. I have published 1-2 guest posts on other sites in related niches.

3. I have 500 new visitors per day. (That means visitors actually looking to read my stuff. In other words, maintaining a low bounce rate.)

4. I have 500 new email subscribers.

Health

1. I worked out at a CrossFit box 3 times per week. (When out of town, I substituted with my own body strength workouts.)

2. I have completed the PLP Workout. (On my own terms that is: Pull ups can be interchanged with ring rows; in addition to the pull ups/ring rows, lunges and push ups, double unders and squats were added.)

3. I slept a minimum of 6-8 hours per night.

4. I followed the Zone Diet 80% of the time 5 of 7 days a week. (I still have to figure out exactly how that works, but I'll work on a plan...)

Education

I'm the last person I ever would have thought would actually go for a degree; in fact, I believe I've written about the scam that college is!

However, I recently spoke to a mentor and she seeing the potential in Project SWAG, she highly recommended that I look into schooling.

I do want to get SWAG into school systems worldwide and having that education (I'm debating between education or psychology) will oil the doors for me and people will see me differently. (Not that I can't do it without, but it'll just make the road easier, more accessible and at worst, it'll get me more pay should I decide to take an official job :)

So, by the end of this year I would like to be in the middle of studying and workout towards a Bachelor's degree.

What Are Your 6 Month Goals?

I've shared with you my hopes, dreams and goals for the next 6 months, and I'd love to hear back from you.

January 1 is always 'the day' for new resolutions and goals for the year. We're now 6 months in and it's a great time to reflect on those commitments, see how far we've come since then and reevaluate the next 6 months. I encourage you do this.

So, what do you plan to have completed by December 31, 2014?

Comment below so we can all support you and cheer you on!

Also, if you have any tips regarding the ZoneDiet or have experience with the PLP workout, I'd love to hear about that as well!

Nice to read a writing from such a positive thinker. Thank you

:-) Thank you!

You have certainly been very busy, where do you find the time to do all that. Well done on what you have accomplished. You have inspired me to re-evaluate my goals.

:-) These are my goals for the upcoming 6 months, I have not accomplished them yet... but I will!

I just used the past tense as a mind trick ;)

Great posts, Stephanie. I tried some decent goals when I first started @ WA. I thought they were attainable because I wasn't working at that time as I was a full-time student. But then when the new year began, it turned my life around. I was offered a job that brought me back to the classroom. I wasn't able to resist because it is my passion to teach. Hence, the halt in my website. I am trying to get back. I know this is what I want to do. Though it's kinda hard to restart and reload, I believe that I shall be able to write again soon. It's summer; so I have some time to reconsider my goals until I get to the top of my business. Thanks for sharing.

I hear you! What were you studying? As I mentioned above, I'm thinking about going back to school. I've only been out 4 years, but in that time I've volunteered in Russia for a year working with high school girls out of school and I worked in a girls high school in California for year, taking care of the social programming and acting as dorm counselor (part boarding school).
I am also a certified EFL teacher and love working with children and teens :)

I LOVE travelling and really came here to start an online business so that I can work from anywhere and have a steady income, but... after trying out a few things, I came up with www.ProjectSWAG.org and the truth is, I'm super passionate about it that the money part has taken a back seat to all this...

I do want to ultimately create an income online, so it's a balance between figuring out how to do that and still working on SWAG as a free service to educators worldwide. As a teacher, you may find something there that can be useful to you...

As for goals, yes, that's normal. Situations change and things don't go the way we planned. There's a great Yiddish proverb - 'Der mentsch trakht un G-t lacht; Man plans and G-d laughs'. Don't let that throw you off!

Richard Dolan (an awesome coach, mentor, entrepreneur and so much more) says, "There's no such thing as an unrealistic goal; only an unrealistic deadline." So, it's ok if you're not where you thought you would be. Just, reevaluate your plan, and reschedule your deadlines. (Don't let things just slide because you won't make your initial goal deadline. That's just a recipe for disaster ;)

Cheers, Stephanie

I am certified in Math and I am pursuing MS in Math Education. I wanted to retire early that's why I joined WA. My timeline to accomplish my goals is two years. So, I'm not there yet. I just have to get back on the saddle, so to speak, and continue what I have started. My passion is teaching that's why I got hooked in the classroom again. Right now I am developing our math curriculum. That hinders me from writing. But hopefully I will get it done quickly. Oh, yeah. I will have to reschedule my deadline. Definitely. Online business is my way out and probably will turn the course of my life into mentorship and curriculum development since I have MA in Curriculum and Instruction. We'll see how it goes as the days go by.

Wow! That sounds amazing! Keep doing what you're doing :)

Thanks for the encouragement, Stephanie. It's nice to know more about you, too. You mentioned about going back to college. As far as my career is concerned (and perhaps yours, too) it's best to have a higher education by all means. We get more credible in what we say when we have the degree that backs us up. So, go for it in any possible way you can. I'm sure you're good at what you do. All the best!

:-)
Yeah, that's what I'm being told. It's a bit weird for me because I'm so not the type to work for someone else - I started my first retail business in 10th grade - and I really didn't think I'd go to school to further my education because I didn't think it would be necessary.

Growing up with hearing impaired parents I always dreamed of being auditory-verbal therapist, but when it came time to look into schools and such, I realized it wasn't a viable plan considering where I was at the time...

Since Project SWAG was born however, I see how much potential there is and like it or not, I will have more credibility with credentials, like you say... so, going to check into this some more...

ProjectSWAG is really swag! The "Read This Post First" is catchy and you really made me read that post first. Your use of multi-media presentations caters to the 21st century learners. I love that ProjectSWAG gives a lot of information. Keep it going. Hope you will find the course that fits you best. Going back to school is not necessarily going on-campus. It could be online or hybrid as many institutions offer. More blessings on your endeavor. I enjoy every bit of conversation with you, Stephanie.

Thank you so much, Betcha! (I'm assuming you'd rather go by this than Elizabeth around here, right?)

I really appreciate the kind words and it's people like yourself who keep me focused on making SWAG happen :)

I'm most definitely not going to school on campus! I LOVE learning and am looking forward to that, and I actually loved school, but committing to a program where I have to be in classes is not for me right now. I like to be able to just pick up and get around whenever I want to. I think I'm going to do an online correspondence program... I've already started looking into it and I'm getting excited!

(I do have to finish my high school diploma first :)

HS diploma should be easy. Just take the GED and you're done. I am excited for you, too. With WA on hand, online courses will definitely be a great choice. Well, let's keep in touch as you keep moving forward! Can't wait for your next 6 months update!

I actually don't want to get a GED... I'm not sure why but I feel like it might not be on the same level as a diploma, but I'm only 1 course away from receiving my Ontario High School Diploma.

When I left after 11th grade, my high school here worked with me to help me complete my necessary credits, so I ended up taking a few correspondence courses, etc... It's no big deal for me to finish, I've just never needed it and it wasn't a priority, so it took second place to everything.

I plan to get it done this August, G-d willing, when I get back from camp in Russia.

Thank you so much for your support and kind words!

Yeah, go for it, Stephanie. One more step to college. Exciting!

I hope to have a successful site and be healthy and happy. Thanks for sharing!
Have a great day!

That's a great goal! Think you can break it down into SMART goals? (Or did you already do that and you're just giving me a synopsis? ;)

awesome job, way to go!

these are great goals--way to go! I love that you included sleep in there!

Yup! That's super important!

I'm a real night owl and can be pretty productive in those hours when all human beings should be fast asleep ;) But, I am looking to lose weight and I know that sleep is an important factor, so I'm going to make it a priority!

Great goals! I gotta reevaluate my next 6 month plan. In six months I will be at WA for year.

One of my goals is to.......I've posted my great accomplishments and all the revenue I've made here at WA.

Stephanie, see how I used past tense. lol

Actually I have a lot more goals, but you made me want to reevaluate my goals. Thanks for sharing.

A year. That's a big number! I'd love to hear your goals on what you expect to have accomplished by then - whenever you're ready to share...

I love the 1st one - and yes, I noticed the past tense ;)

Thanks for sharing

They all sound like good plans, but lot's of work with finishing the degree. If you're set on it, you can do it. As for me, I am going on vacation in a couple weeks, going back home for a few weeks. After that, I need to do some reevaluating. I'm thinking about some changes.

Well, I gotta start it first... then I can finish it ;)
(And first I have to finish my last high school course so I can get a high school diploma! I left school early to go to college in England and never finished that up...)

I'd love to get an update on your goals - whenever you're ready...

That is very inspiring to those of us just starting. Thanks for the blog.

:-)
