The Myth Silence reigns in the classroom as the teacher slowly picks up a glass partially filled with ice cold orange juice, turns to his students and says, "Is the glass half full or half empty?" The class, college age students in an ivy league university all look at one another and then towards their philosophy professor and with a range of sheepish grins to smug smirks, answer in unison, "half full". They've been through this ever since preschool and by now, they've gotten the hang of it. The

Hey there! My blog www.financiallyfreestudents.com is geared towards college students who understand the stresses of finances and are looking for financial freedom. Obviously, as WA members, I am not looking to get you to buy anything on my site or click through to WA - happy to have you here already! - but I would definitely appreciate any feedback I could get on my site. Because this site is essentially for people like yourselves, I would love to know how you view it; if you think I'm on the

One year!? It's crazy! Unbelievable! Where the heck does the time go when we're not looking? And how does it manage to get away even when we are?Does a lack of success mean failure? It's terribly disorienting when you feel like you've got a grip on your life, like you've got things in order and under control, like you're following a schedule that'll lead to success, and suddenly you find yourself way off track. But, life happens, and that's ok. It's not always about achieving or not achieving ou

Thousands of Feet Above Ground I'm currently sitting on an airplane en route to Los Angeles where I am moving. It's been a pretty hectic week, but thank G-d, I've reached this moment! Normally, I'd be taking advantage of the two empty seats beside me, stretched out and relaxing with my iPod, but I know that it's going to be a busy next few days and I really wanted to share this with you all. So, I took a deep breath, got my work mode focus on and not only pumped out this post, but also managed t

Excuse the title, my dear friends, but I'm SO excited! I just had an absolutely BRILLIANT idea for a website - if I may say so myself ;) - and one that I think could be a potential bestselling book. I may be thinking too far ahead, but I'm so excited with this idea, I had to let some of that joy spill over. Sorry, I can't give any hints, but feel free to share in my excitement!!

Wow! It's hard to believe summer's over and we're getting well into fall here in this part of the world. Although, I haven't blogged since July 1st, I've been doing my best to keep up with the new improvements (thanks Carson and Kyle!) that have constantly been coming at us. Thank G-d, I had a wonderfully busy summer between visiting my family back home in Toronto, voluntarily running an English language program in camp in Russia, attending my cousin's Bar Mitzvah in New Jersey, a friend's wedd

It's July 1st. So, 'Happy Canada Day' to those of you from Canada! And 'Happy 1st Day of the Second Half of the Year' to the rest of you! Inspired by Jeffrey's post, I'd like to share with you my goals for the next 6 months; and the results I will have achieved by December 31, 2014, with G-d's help. And... I'm going to write it in the past tense. You know what they say about the mind... can't differentiate between imagination and reality. (I've still got a hard time with that one, but I'll take

Wow! This is awesome :) Last Thursday was my last class of the year with my 10th grade students and with a few minutes left, I asked them to take out a piece of paper and write one lesson that they learned from any point in the year. I teach 'Parsha', the weekly Torah portion, and most of them wrote a lesson they learned from one of the Parshiot. B. however, wrote the following: One of the lessons that we did was beauty. I wrote down on the thoughts list that I am more beautiful than I think, i

Week 9 3/4 I am now finishing week 10 of my 100 days, but have not yet blogged about week 9. Due to the craziness of the last couple weeks and the fact that I have not added any workshops to my Project SWAG website, this review will be for the two weeks combined (hence the 9 ¾) and next week I will continue with week 10 (though technically that doesn’t make sense :-). However, despite my lack of blogging online, these past days have been incredibly productive!Quick recap: May 16-17 My boardin
