Commemorating and Celebrating My First MURPH

I joined CrossFit about 7 months ago and it's been one of the most amazing additions I've made to my life.

I'm one of those people who always HATED exercise. I'm not an active, sporty type of gal and didn't move much.

Now? CrossFit is my drug! I go twice weekly to CrossFit Palo Alto where I've got the most awesome coach, Tim. After each workout I come home with more energy than ever with the best attitude.

Today, on Memorial Day, in commemoration of fallen soldiers, CrossFit boxes across the world have been hosting The Murph Challenge.

Lt. Micheal P. Murphy was a Navy SEAL who risked and ultimately gave up his life in service of others. Read more about it here: http://themurphchallenge.com/

The MURPH Challenge

This morning, at 10:15am I joined about 30 other people who came together to honor his memory by completing the Murph challenge.

I did a 1/2 Murph: 800m run, 50 pull ups (scaled), 100 push ups, 150 squats, 800m run

The CrossFit Palo Alto community is wonderful and we were really all there for one another, cheering each other on and celebrating each participant's completion.

I'm proud to have been a part of this challenge, and I'm proud of how far I've come in just 7 months!

Nope, this has got nothing to do with WA, but I wanted to share this with my family here and give you the opportunity to celebrate with me :-)

combination of changing eating habits and doing on demand workouts. The workouts are based around kickboxing and walking. Some can be very demanding. I still have some bad eating habits but try to eat healthier overall. Yeah if I put on size 42 jeans without a belt my pants drop.

well good for you. I have lost close to 20 pounds in the past few months by doing free workouts that are on demand. Also using my Total Gym to target specific muscle groups.

Wonderful accomplishment! Congrats! I love Northern California and I am considering moving back there in a couple of years. I am in Las Vegas right now and not loving it here.

It's definitely a nice place to live! I've been here for a year and debating what to do for next year... Stick around here or travel around. Well, i'd definitely go for the second option (for now) but not sure how I'm going to cover expenses...
