Establishing goals is always important because of otherways os difficult to stay "on track" and to climb on the "ladder of success!"
What is additionally important is to focus on daily activities, having the goal in mind. Smaller "chunks" of goal, day by day.
Youtube is a huge platform with billions of users, as you already mentioned. To stand out is not easy.
Sometimes, having posted just a funny video can get you results, unexpected well.
The most important point: having significant success on YT is a hard work and one needs to create a bunch of videos, or to be lucky and have a video which gets very viral!
