Okay so now you should know who you are targeting, what your focus for your article is, and your content should pretty much be done. Now to round of your article to get it ready for publishing.

Below I have outline a couple of pointers that I find are helpful when it comes to rounding off my articles. These tips and tricks are purely my opinion based on what I would like to see when reading anything online, but I am sure thousands of other people out there are looking for the same things.

1. K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple Stupid

There is no point in writing an amazing article if what you are writing is totally above and beyond the vocabulary of the average person. Even if you are writing an article for an online science journal, even they recommend that your diction and context be kept relevant and centered around a specific dogma.

Do not over-power your audience with the entire Oxford dictionary in one post.

2. K.I.S.A.S. - Keep It Short And Sweet

Right now in social media, people are writing 140 character posts and this is what is now socially acceptable. Do not write long and elaborate paragraphs in your articles because your audience will lose track of what you were trying to say.

I recommend paragraphs be four lines at most or up to 40 words (whichever comes first).

3. Play on the emotions of the audience

People are way more likely to pay attention to your article if your imagery are of happy people that are smiling or children running around. Now of course the type of image you choose will have to be relevant to the content of your article.

If all else fails, revert to using warmer colours like reds, bright greens and oranges in your imagery to envoke a subconscious feeling of love and care in your reader.

Also, writing catchy sub-headings within your content and adding a few interesting pictured throughout your article will keep the reader interested. You don't want to be bored after scrolling through your article and finding it to look a little bleh!

4. Use hyperlinks and keywords in moderation

While the aim of any online writer would be to make sales and thereby earn an income, it is important to know that using too many keywords and hyperlinks in your content could end up harming you.

Search engines do not like it when all of your articles and pages are literred with hyperlinks redirecting audience to affiliate sites or filled keywords attracting and confusing many online searchers.

Rather keep your affiliate hyperlinks for the purpose of review articles. In here I would recommend using about 4 or 6 hyperlinks in the entire article spread out between specific phrases and imagery.

For keywords you can use up to 3 keywords, but keep in mind that these should be more or less focussed on the same thing and not introduce too many new ideas to your article. This causes search engines to punish you and could actually slow the ranking progress of your article.

5. Always have a CTA (Call To Action)

Humans by nature always need to be led or instructed to do something proactive. This is your opportunity to persuade a reader to buy a product or sign up for a mailing list.

You CTA can be at the end of your article in your conclusion, or spread out throughout your content.

Just make sure that you CTA is clear and precise. These could be: "Click here...", "Join now...", etc.

In conclusion,

Thank you so much for reading my tutorial. I hope this was helpful.
