Blog post length-what are opinions? I have read on over over 1000 words to rank higher, however someone who recently looked over my website thought my posts were too wordy. She thinks 700 is a better length.

Hi Tracy,
There are lots of strategies and opinions on that subject. I've seen some info saying 3000+ is best for ranking which, depending on the subject, might be difficult to do consistently.
Having said that, blog post length is really about saying what needs to be said in a complete, concise manner. Focusing solely on word count just for ranking may cause us to lose sight of "who" we're writing to.
So, whether it's 700 or 3000 words, make sure it's relevant to your friend, the reader and give them value with quality information.
As far as "wordy" content, keep an eye on repeating phrases or any "filler" type content, such as unnecessary adjectives and adverbs.

I don't have a specific number to advise you. Follow the training for keywords and content available here at WA.

Hope this helps your thought process.
All the best to you!

~Bob
