Also, how do you keep up with distributing content and building relationships on these platforms? Do you have a centralized inbox or some solution like that?

I just post and share my content there and check my messages once a week. You can also use social share buttons on your blog post on a couple of them

Do these provide a substantial amount of referral traffic? You mentioned several sites I've never heard of. What's the user population like?

It doesn't matter if there are 2 Billion people on Facebook if 5 only people see your posts, The social networks have a significant amount of users and you actually see what your friends post. It is not hidden by an algorithm.

So even if there were only a few hundred members which there isn't you get more views than you do if you post a link to your blog on Facebook.

And yes they do provide referral traffic many of them give me a lot more clicks than FB.
