WHAT IS SEO AND WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU
SEO is talked about all the time as the one thing to get right on your site. Anyone who uses the internet may not have full understanding of what or how it works. SEO is the art of optimizing the content on your page, so that your website gets ranked by search engines.
1. Keywords and Backlinks
But how do we know we are getting it right, and how do we know what to and what not to include?
Well, one way is to look at what keywords we are using to try to attract readers to your site and get more traffic coming time after time.
Keywords contained on you site allow search engines to rank your site and know what it is about, while backlinks determine how much search engines trusts your site to be relevant. Both keywords and backlinks are essential in moving your website up the search result food chain.
The amount of registered domains is somewhere between 100,0000,000 and 180,000,000, so getting your site seen requires that keywords are created in your title, content, blogs and articles.
2. On-Site & Off-Site
There are two corresponding SEO components in moving your site up the feed chain, known as “on-site”, and “off-site” SEO.
On-site SEO requires that you contain relevant keywords, and off-site SEO requires that you create backlinks to your site that originate from other sources such as social media, articles, blogging, newsletters and more.
The more influential and legitimate the links are to your website, the better chances that your site will get a higher ranking by that effectiveness.
3. Growing Your Business – The SEO Way
Growing your business through good SEO takes, effort, patience and understanding. The understanding is just as important as the keywords and backlinks, because through understanding what works and what does not work, can only be done over time.
Be aware that just getting your site to the first page of ranking does not mean that the job is complete, you still have to make sure that your website does what is says it can do and keep the attention of the visitor long enough to keep them there and will require you to keep changing and adding further quality and value if you want the visitor to remain viewing.
Don’t forget, these people are looking specifically to you for an answer or a service that you have said you can supply, and it does not take much to deter them as there are many more companies that are saying the can provide that very same service.
Have a lovely weekend!
