PAGE 4 – Why you should have confidence in the WA experience

If anyone were to debate with me that they have found a better and more comprehensive way to build an internet marketing business online than what we members have here at Wealthy Affiliate, they would lose the debate badly. And do you know why? I’m pretty sure you do.

WA IS PERFECT FOR NON-TECH SAVVY PEOPLE

It doesn’t matter what educational background you have or even your knowledge of computers, anyone with determination for success can succeed with the training here. The only way someone will fail is if they refuse to learn, to make changes, and/or quits. The training is easy and so are the resources.

For instance, Wealthy Affiliate is always looking for ways to evolve the community experience and make it easier for its members to succeed. By providing resources that make it super simple to get started, it would take someone with no determination or desire for success, to not get it.

What other place do you know of either online or off, that provides you with the ability to build, program and host a fully functional WordPress website in less than a minute, no programming required? I will answer that for you. Nowhere! Period! Not only is building a website simple but...

THERE IS NO NEED FOR ANTI-SPAM PLUGINS

That is correct! As a member here at WA, none of your websites require any kind of anti-spam plugins anymore. You no longer need SiCAPTCHA, Akismet, or even WP SpamShield. No more anti-spam plugins needed because of the new SiteProtect functionality offered exclusively to all websites built and hosted here at WA.

What? You didn’t know about SiteProtect? Carson and the other technical behind-the-scenes staff at WA has taken our website security to a whole new level. Now you do not need to install and activate any kind of anti-spam plugins. As soon as Carson announced it, I deactivated all anti-spam plugins on all of my websites.

Does SiteProtect work? IT MOST CERTAINLY DOES!!! On my Boot Camp website that promotes WA, I used to normally get 25 daily spam comments appearing inside my Spam Folder. Even though they never appeared in my pending comments folder, they were coming through to my Spam folder every day. But now? I receive ZERO spam comments!

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS COMMENT ERROR?

Have you ever experienced the error as seen in the above picture? If you have, the reason for it appearing is because the website you are trying to leave a comment on, currently has either the WP-SpamShield or Akismet anti-spam plugin installed. If you built your website more than a couple of months ago, PLEASE DEACTIVE AND DELETE these plugins.

If you want people to leave you comments on your website, you need to delete the anti-spam plugins. Because of the new SiteProtect feature on all websites hosted here at WA, if you have these plugins activated, people will get the above JavaScript Error when they go to leave you a comment. Because SiteRubix pre-installs the anti-spam plugings, you will need to go into your plugins and deactivate them.

Hi Robert,

Thank you so much and please forgive me if this is a stupid question...I have been wondering if the new Site Protect is applicable only to those who have purchased domains through WA or also to those who have domains with namecheap (as was recommended in the training back then)?

Thanks, as always, for your help!

hi Anna, I would say as long as your domain is hosted on WA it will be protected... Bea

Thank you Bea, so if I still have my domain registered with namecheap, I'm ok?

You are welcome Anna.

In answer to your question...Yes! Your websites with domains purchased elsewhere are still protected with SiteProtect. The anti-spam plugin works on the server side of things and does not have anything to do with where a domain is purchased.

All of my websites have domain names that were purchased at NameCheap. And SiteProtect is working perfectly with all of them. So you are being protected.

I do appreciate Carson and Kyle keeping everything up to date.

When I was involved in all those online money making scams, on one of those programs, (it was both a tool and and a money maker) in the back office, it looked like it had not been updated since 1998, when the owner first started his program. He was happy with the money he was making and didn't think it needed updated. But it was so difficult to navigate and figure out. It was like going back in time - way back in the previous century.

Thanks for your blog post. And again, thanks to Carson and Kyle for making sure we move forward in this century. :)

You are welcome Beth. I can see how trying to work on an online platform that doesn't evolve with the times could be frustrating. Thankfully here at WA we have the luxury of knowing that will never happen here.

You are welcome Dave. As far as I know from what Carson said in his blog, there is no need for any anti-spam plugins for websites built here at WA.

You can just do a test like I did. Carson recommended to me and another member to deactivate our anti-spam plugins and see what happens.

So I did so on my WA website which gets 25+ spam comments per day. It has been more than a week and I have not received any spam comments. SiteProtect is AWESOME!

Thank you so much for keeping us up-to-date, Robert.
I especially was having issues with the Anti-Spamshield plugin, so I'm glad to know it is a moot point now.
Big thanks obviously to Carson & Kyle:)

You are welcome Terry. I love all of these updates that the WA team keep implementing to make our user experiences so much better and easier.

I am especially happy about not needing to use plugins anymore to block all of the spam comments my website gets on a daaily basis. The less plugins a website has, the better and faster it performs.
