Google, heard of it?

If you are like me, you rely on Google for pretty much everything, from research, to product reviews, to solutions to problems. Google has billions of users, actively using their search engine every day to find stuff.

Introducing Search Engine Optimization...

Our goal with our website, in particular in the first 6-12 months with it is to get lots of rankings in Google (and other search engines) and to do so for FREE.

This is accomplished through what is called Search Engine Optimization (SEO), which is something that you are going to become very knowledgeable with in a short period of time. You are going to learn how you can show up in Google, get traffic, and generate a lot of revenue as a result.

I have created a video walking you through the fundamentals of a successful SEO ready website and I also show you how to set-up your All in One SEO plugin, which is going to be the framework for getting your website prepared for SEO.

DISCUSS VIDEO: Setting Up Your Website for Search Engines

SEO is NOT Rocket Science.

People tend to overthink SEO and think there is MORE to it than there actually is. Part of the problem is that there is so much misinformation online about SEO.

I can tell you, first hand, it is not rocket science. You don't need backlinks, you don't need to know some random secret, you don't need PBN's (if you don't know what that is, don't worry) and you don't need to be an expert author.

There are a few basic components to SEO that are going to be our focus as we move you through the training. I am going to give you a quick overview of these, not to add to complexity or overwhelm you, but rather add simplicity.

  • Initial Website SEO Set-Up (which we will be covering today)
  • Keyword Selection
  • Content Length
  • Content Structure
  • Engagement
  • Social Elements
  • Time (Authority)

Frankly, wipe clean your SEO knowledge. You are going to be learning how to rank not just now, but for years to come as you move through the Bootcamp training. It is in my best interest to see you succeed with your SEO and I want you to see results!

The Incredible, Long Term Opportunity With SEO.

SEO is a long term traffic opportunity that is not going anywhere. As more people come online and more people spend time online, they are searching for things at a higher rate than ever.

The average person performs over 130 searches per month in Google, and Google is currently getting over 3.5 BILLION searches per day. And that is just Google.

That is traffic that YOU can leverage. With 3.75 BILLION people active online, it is going to be your job to intercept people through "search terms" (keywords) that they enter in Google, build trust through helping them, then make a recommendation of products and services.

In the case of your Affiliate Bootcamp website, Wealthy Affiliate will be one of the websites that you can recommend and earn a great deal of income with.

People simply are not going to stop searching, in fact, as people become more and more connect with MORE devices, the number of daily searches only goes up. This creates an incredible and very much growing opportunity for you as an affiliate marketer.

Task 1: Set Up Your Website Up For SEO

Your first task today is going to be setting up your website for SEO success. You are going to be doing this through the All in One SEO plugin, which we activated within the last lesson.

This lesson we are going to be updating the General Settings. To do this, you are going to find All in One SEO from the main menu or from the Plugins menu, and click on the "General Settings" menu item (as shown below)

From there, you are going to go directly to the "Home Page Settings" section. This is where we are going to be adding our website title and description for search engines.

This will NOT be visible to people that visit your site, it will be the title and description of your website when it shows up in a Google search.

Home Title: This should be the brand name of your website, followed by additional text to make it more captivating. In my case, I made this title:

Real Deal Affiliate - Affiliate Marketing Uncut

I think this is captivating and speaks to my audience well as my sort of "motto", but I can quite easily change this down the road. So don't fret if you make a mistake here or you are not 100% in love with your title.

Ideal Title Character Count: 45-55

Home Description: This should explain briefly what your website is about and how you plan on helping people. Who is your site dedicated to helping and how do you plan on helping them out. In my case, I made my description:

With over 15 years experience online, Real Deal Affiliate is a site dedicated to helping aspiring and already successful affiliate marketers online.

Again, if you have a spelling mistake or you are not 100% happy with your description, you can update this at any time.

Ideal Description Character Count: 140-160

After you have done this, continue scrolling down to the Keyword Settings section. Make sure your settings look the same as mine. You don't really have to think too much about the "Keyword Settings" section here other than making it look like what I have here.

Then scroll down to the very bottom of the settings page and you will see a blue "Update Options" button.

Click that and you are good to go! Your website is now set-up for search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo!

**Note: You do not need to "Upgrade to Pro" with your All in One Plugin. The free version is more than sufficient for what you need here. Many plugins have optional upgrades for more features and you will typically be more than fine with the free versions.

I have interest in many areas. But first off, I want to head for what motivates me the most "travel with family (and little kids)". This is going to be my first trial of everything in the process and hope to learn a lot. My later project after I feel comfortable set things up and running may be something about "affiliate marketing for Thai people (my audience) in the US", "Mommy and baby", and something related to nursing because I've been in this field for a while.

I will be building my brand around helping seniors, retirees and would-be retirees make income online from home. As a former remodeling contractor, I already have a separate affiliate site that in major part shows seniors how to make their homes "retirement ready" for aging in place. I will be adding a WA banner and link on that site.

I want to build my brand around helping people boost their income, allow them to leave their day job and live the life of freedom they have always dreamed of. Because I am turning 50 this year and looking toward retirement, I want to target people around my age group that are looking to boost their retirement nest egg and maybe retire earlier than they would have.
I am looking for help with a name for my brand. Something catchy, not too specific, but clear in what I am offering.

Thanks for any thoughts you may have!

Ok I'm going to ask this question and I don't know if its dumb or not but here goes. I have another website that I bought when I joined & it's sharondiges.com. Should I use this for my first website for Bootcamp training or not? Any feedback would be appreciated!
Thanks

You can bring any site at WA, you can choose to change the domain name or you can keep it, you can transfer your domain to WA servers as well.
Hope that help

I want to create a website where people can find answers around affiliate marketing.

Here are some of my ideas for a Domain Name:

AffiliateAbc.com

AffiliateHelpGuide.com

AffiliateAbcGuide.com

What do you think?
Or should I include the word Marketiing?
