Google, heard of it?

If you are like me, you rely on Google for pretty much everything, from research, to product reviews, to solutions to problems. Google has billions of users, actively using their search engine every day to find stuff.

Introducing Search Engine Optimization...

Our goal with our website, in particular in the first 6-12 months with it is to get lots of rankings in Google (and other search engines) and to do so for FREE.

This is accomplished through what is called Search Engine Optimization (SEO), which is something that you are going to become very knowledgeable with in a short period of time. You are going to learn how you can show up in Google, get traffic, and generate a lot of revenue as a result.

I have created a video walking you through the fundamentals of a successful SEO ready website and I also show you how to set-up your All in One SEO plugin, which is going to be the framework for getting your website prepared for SEO.

DISCUSS VIDEO: Setting Up Your Website for Search Engines

SEO is NOT Rocket Science.

People tend to overthink SEO and think there is MORE to it than there actually is. Part of the problem is that there is so much misinformation online about SEO.

I can tell you, first hand, it is not rocket science. You don't need backlinks, you don't need to know some random secret, you don't need PBN's (if you don't know what that is, don't worry) and you don't need to be an expert author.

There are a few basic components to SEO that are going to be our focus as we move you through the training. I am going to give you a quick overview of these, not to add to complexity or overwhelm you, but rather add simplicity.

  • Initial Website SEO Set-Up (which we will be covering today)
  • Keyword Selection
  • Content Length
  • Content Structure
  • Engagement
  • Social Elements
  • Time (Authority)

Frankly, wipe clean your SEO knowledge. You are going to be learning how to rank not just now, but for years to come as you move through the Bootcamp training. It is in my best interest to see you succeed with your SEO and I want you to see results!

The Incredible, Long Term Opportunity With SEO.

SEO is a long term traffic opportunity that is not going anywhere. As more people come online and more people spend time online, they are searching for things at a higher rate than ever.

The average person performs over 130 searches per month in Google, and Google is currently getting over 3.5 BILLION searches per day. And that is just Google.

That is traffic that YOU can leverage. With 3.75 BILLION people active online, it is going to be your job to intercept people through "search terms" (keywords) that they enter in Google, build trust through helping them, then make a recommendation of products and services.

In the case of your Affiliate Bootcamp website, Wealthy Affiliate will be one of the websites that you can recommend and earn a great deal of income with.

People simply are not going to stop searching, in fact, as people become more and more connect with MORE devices, the number of daily searches only goes up. This creates an incredible and very much growing opportunity for you as an affiliate marketer.

Task 1: Set Up Your Website Up For SEO

Your first task today is going to be setting up your website for SEO success. You are going to be doing this through the All in One SEO plugin, which we activated within the last lesson.

This lesson we are going to be updating the General Settings. To do this, you are going to find All in One SEO from the main menu or from the Plugins menu, and click on the "General Settings" menu item (as shown below)

From there, you are going to go directly to the "Home Page Settings" section. This is where we are going to be adding our website title and description for search engines.

This will NOT be visible to people that visit your site, it will be the title and description of your website when it shows up in a Google search.

Home Title: This should be the brand name of your website, followed by additional text to make it more captivating. In my case, I made this title:

Real Deal Affiliate - Affiliate Marketing Uncut

I think this is captivating and speaks to my audience well as my sort of "motto", but I can quite easily change this down the road. So don't fret if you make a mistake here or you are not 100% in love with your title.

Ideal Title Character Count: 45-55

Home Description: This should explain briefly what your website is about and how you plan on helping people. Who is your site dedicated to helping and how do you plan on helping them out. In my case, I made my description:

With over 15 years experience online, Real Deal Affiliate is a site dedicated to helping aspiring and already successful affiliate marketers online.

Again, if you have a spelling mistake or you are not 100% happy with your description, you can update this at any time.

Ideal Description Character Count: 140-160

After you have done this, continue scrolling down to the Keyword Settings section. Make sure your settings look the same as mine. You don't really have to think too much about the "Keyword Settings" section here other than making it look like what I have here.

Then scroll down to the very bottom of the settings page and you will see a blue "Update Options" button.

Click that and you are good to go! Your website is now set-up for search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo!

**Note: You do not need to "Upgrade to Pro" with your All in One Plugin. The free version is more than sufficient for what you need here. Many plugins have optional upgrades for more features and you will typically be more than fine with the free versions.

My direction is to assist potential Affiliate Marketers to overcome their present income limitations. So these are people who are already earning but are frustrated by the "ceiling" of their income and would like to OVERCOME THEIR INCOME LIMITATIONS.

The name of my BRAND will be:

Please confirm if the above is in order.

Hi guys. I am a new here. I am thinking about targeting struggling network marketers as my niche to promote Wealthy Affiliate. My goal is convince them to transition from network marketing to affiliate marketing so they can build passive income through it. I don't know if this would work. Could anybody give me an advice please? Thanks!

You don't necessarily need to convert them, you can help them with their network marketing and the sale of the products within those, but you can also introduce them to the significant affiliate marketing opportunity.

Sometimes when you tell someone what they are doing is a bad idea, they will get defensive. We have many network marketers here that are thriving with the education here, but are also transitioning into other significant opportunities.

I want to focus on the how and why's of it. But I want to target people who are like me who are lucky if they can pay their monthly bills, so minimum wage (I guess) show them they can start at the bottom and work their way up. Which basically means starting as a starter member and letting the work they do on their website pay for premium. I believe that is the best way to promote WA. I'm willing to do all the research and I know I am going to lose alot of the functions. But I believe it is possible. I'm thinking something like. Selfhelp. /how-and-why-you-should-be-an-affiliate-marketer. I can then do research on other companies like WA and tell them why WA is the best way to go. What do you guys think?

Sure, that is absolutely a direction that you can head. Lots of people that you can relate to, lots of people that you can help, and ultimately lots of people that can benefit from the platform here. ;)

Hi Guy's,

In terms of target audience I was more thinking about promoting the training aspect of WA.
I know there's tons of people out there who have tried affiliate Marketing and have failed, mainly due to lack of training and support.
I know I was one of them.

Would this be workable?

Thanks

Yes, you can help aspiring affiliate marketers and you can help affiliate marketers then grow and scale their business. Obviously a promotion of WA would be a natural tie in here and it is the best of the best within the industry. ;)

Hi this is my first Review which is step 9 out of 10 on the boot camp training.
My question :- Are their any special review templates that i can use to promote WA, even if i have to tweak them and make them my own, i would just like to get the ball rolling , bear in mind that i will be advertising Wealthy Affiliate Marketing Program which i feel is a brilliant way to launch the kind of niche that i'm interested in. ?

There're several ways in which you can go about creating the review, and we certainly have a lot of training on reviews here at WA.

You're cool with the review is to inform people and provide them with an experience where they are ready to make a purchasing decision either to purchase the product, or to purchase something else.

People tend to do a lot of research before they buy stuff online and if you can do the research for them, it will speed up the purchasing lifecycle. That is what you should set out to accomplish within your reviews.

Here is some high quality training that you can leverage on reviews. When you're creating a review, you need to make sure that you are being factually correct, providing insightful information, and you can layer your opinion and ideas on this. If you do this, you can be very successful with your reviews.
