Welcome to the Affiliate Bootcamp!

Are you ready to learn a lot, have a bunch of fun, build a full time income and brand, and promote a platform that you can believe in, trust and that can truly help people in a positive way?

If your answer is yes, then you are definitely in the right place and I know you are going to love what we have in store for you in the upcoming lessons.

First things first though, a little run down of the affiliate program at Wealthy Affiliate and how this training will work.

Who Am I & Why Do I Care?

I am Kyle, co-founder of Wealthy Affiliate. I am going to be walking you through the process of building a business online, through the promotion of WA and likely other programs. I have been actively working with close to 1.9 MILLION affiliates since 2005 and I have helped MANY create full time, 6-7 figure businesses online.

That is my absolute focus with you. Success.

I want to help you build a full time business and an established brand online. I also want to personally be hanging out with you every year at our fully paid for, Annual Super Affiliate Conference in Las Vegas (more on that later).

Wealthy Affiliate is mine and Carson's passion (me on left with family, Carson on right). We live and breathe Wealthy Affiliate and as time goes on, the platform here truly evolves and gets better with every day that passes. We built WA based on helping people succeed, and we don't have any plans to divert from our core principles.

If you are committed to this training, I am committed to you! That I can assure you of.

So if you are ready to do BIG things online, I am ready to help you get there. :)

The WA Affiliate Program, It's Awesome!

The affiliate program here at Wealthy Affiliate is one of the most technologically advanced, sophisticated, and progressive platforms in the world. We were born and raised in this industry as “affiliates” and we are still affiliates to this day. It's in our genetic code!

Because of this and being involved in 100’s of different affiliate programs over the years, we have a very good grasp as to what affiliates want and we are constantly working to over deliver.

There are many different aspects to the WA Affiliate Program that you can leverage to maximize your reach, revenue and overall conversions and I am going to give you a brief overview of these now. Of course as we move through the Bootcamp training, I am going to be getting more and more advanced with this training.

A few important menus I want you to understand. The first is the "$" icon in the header, if you click this you will be able to access the full affiliate resource menu (as shown below).

This menu includes SEVEN items, I am going to quickly run you through all of them and then provide you with a video walking you through the ALL aspects of the affiliate program in its entirety.

  • Program Details. This is where you can go to get full details about the Affiliate Program, the commission structures, your main affiliate link, your incentive countdown, etc.
  • My Stats. This is where you can go to get detailed information about stats and all commissions/transactions.
  • Tasks. These are all the interaction and communication (questions) that are taking place within WA in respect to your referrals. You will want to complete these as they come in, interacting with your referrals leads to much higher conversions.
  • My Referrals. This will show you all your referrals that have joined through your affiliate link, both Starter and Premium.
  • Links & Tracking. This is where you can to get all of your affiliate links, to create your own tracking links, and to add tracking for services like Google Adwords, BingAds.com and Facebook.com.
  • Messages. These are automated, follow-up messages that you can create for your referrals!
  • Banners. Self explanatory here, these are banners that you can use on social media, on your website, or anywhere you like that you can add a banner promoting WA.

Within the side bar, you will see the Training buttonwithin the menu. Then upon clicking that, it will open the training area and you will see the Affiliate Bootcamp training area as the second item down.

If you click this menu, it will pop open all of the phases of Bootcamp. Each Phase has 10 lessons and as you move through this training and check off the tasks, you are going to notice that the Affiliate Bootcamp button text will update to reflect which lesson you are currently on.

In other words, it is a "smart" button and will always take you back to your last completed task within the training.

Your Potential & Commission Structure.

The affiliate program at Wealthy Affiliate is not just advanced from a technology standpoint, but you are also getting one of the most appealing RECURRING commission structures in all of the affiliate marketing space.

Invites: They Join WA for Free

STARTER Member Commissions:

Initial $19 offer, Commission = $4
$49/mth, Commission = $11.25 recurring
$234/six-month, Commission = $54 recurring
$359/year, Commission = $87.50 recurring

If you are a Premium Member here at Wealthy Affiliate, you get double the commissions as an affiliate and you also get to take part in our $1 credit program, which allows you to earn from free members you sign-up that set-up their accounts. You also earn money with each domain your referrals buy.

PREMIUM Member Commissions: (100% higher commissions!!!)

Credits: They Set-up their account => $1 (per referral)
Domain Purchases
: => $1 recurring
Initial $19 offer, Commission
=> $8 (one time)
$49/mth, Commission =>
$23.50 (recurring every month)
$234/six-month, Commission =>
$108 (recurring every six months)
$359/year, Commission =>
$175 (recurring yearly)!

**Note: on average 1:8 upgrade to yearly, depending on the affiliate, and 12% of all free Starter referrals end up going Premium.

When you sign-up someone for free, your goal is to get them to set-up their account. Setting up ones account will lead you to an initial $1 (2 credits x $0.50). These add up when you are a Premium member.

When someone sets up their account, they are granted an initial $19 first month offer. This converts very well and almost everyone decides to stay after the first month because of the value, the quality of the services, the help they get, and the overall positive experience offered here at Wealthy Affiliate.

We offer lifetime commissions and lifetime cookies, which is truly unheard of in the industry. If you refer someone to WA, they are your referral FOREVER.

Unlike many programs in the industry that focus on "taking advantage of customers", our focus has and always will be making our service better. The better our service gets, the more people that stick around, stick around for longer, and the better our conversions get.

That is our PATH to making you more money. Striving to make our service the best in the industry is our goal and this will remain our constant focus. The MONEY you earn as a result of this and the trust you build from the people you refer to Wealthy Affiliate will lead you to a long term and INCREDIBLE business online.

**We pay out on the 1st of every month, and we have not missed a single affiliate payment since our inception 14 years ago. We pay on time and we pay out MILLIONS of DOLLARS per year!

Task 1: Add Your Affiliate Goals!

We have created a discussion where you can add your affiliate goals, not just for the upcoming bootcamp though. I am a long term guy myself. I know what can be accomplished in a year...a year is a like a blink in time and before you know it next year is going to be here.

What if you could make 100 referrals by next year...what about 200...what about 500....a 1000? Be realistic, but be unrealistic. You never reach goals that you thought were unattainable if you never set them.

Add your goals here within the following thread.

==> ADD YOUR GOALS: What are your WA Promotional Goals in 2019?

Also, comment on AT LEAST two other people's goals within the thread. This is a community here at WA and we are all here to help and support one another in our journey towards success.

You can begin your networking now and you are going to build some awesome relationships which will only further your online success. So take a minute and encourage at least two other people with their goals as well.

I want to let you know about something as well, something that you may find exciting and intriguing.

If you can reach 300 unique referrals through the course of this year, we are going to fly you to Vegas for a private, "all expenses paid" conference (read below).

Task 2: Las Vegas, We Want YOU There in 2020!

We like to do things differently at Wealthy Affiliate. Other companies try to convince you to attend their "high ticket" conferences, we want to PAY for you to come to our conference.

Every year we run an ultra exclusive WA Super Affiliate Conference in Las Vegas, all expenses paid. You may have noticed a counter in your Airplane Icon in the header, if you can make 300 referrals in a calendar year, you are going to be personally invited by Carson and myself to hang out in Vegas next year.

Read about the experience from the most recent years conference. It was the most powerful, amazing conference to date and we would love nothing more than to have you there next year!

DISCUSSION: Las Vegas 2019. Incredible. 2020 Will Be Insanity!

Task 3: Watch the Affiliate Program Walk through

Here is an introduction video to Wealthy Affiliate. This is going to give you an overview of your stats pages and show you around the set-up of your affiliate account.

It is important that you go through this so you fully understand the process.

Task 4: Officially Join the Affiliate Bootcamp

We run promotions throughout the year and update our affiliate program regularly. We want to keep you informed of any timely offers that you can take advantage of. We will also be able to connect with you to offer specialized training, promotional materials, motivation, and new advancements to the Bootcamp course.

You Are Already Officially Part of Affiliate Bootcamp!

This is a necessity if you want to become a top affiliate. I want you to take a second right now and officially join Affiliate Bootcamp by clicking the button above. It is going to help you keep on track, keep you informed, and is going to allow us help you make more money!

This is a requirement to continue with this course...and something that is going to help you out as well!

Tasks 0/4 completed
1. Add Your Affiliate Goals in terms of Referrals # to the Discussion
2. Comment on at least 2 other peoples goals
3. Tell us if you plan on making the Las Vegas Conference in 2020!

I'm stuck on making a name for my brand. I would like to target those who are low income or living on disability income. I would like to try to reach these types of people because I'm living off disability income and I'm trying to supplement my income with this business. Any suggestion?
I am ex-military and know they are a lot of us and some who aren't ex-military living on disability income and would like to supplement their income.

When you choose a domain, you are going to want to choose something that is "brandable" versus something that has keywords within it. The reason this is the case is because as you build out your website, you can target as many keywords as you like within the content (that is how you will rank).

I have created a discussion here outlining the process and what to look for when choosing a domain name: This should help you out here and if you ever want to run any domains by me, simply let me know and I will give you some feedback.

PS. You can host up to 25 of your own domains here within the Premium membership on our state of the art hosting platform. :)

FIXED IT WAS MY ADD BLOCKER! I am trying to set up my all in one SEO and on my site where he shows us that when we are logged in that toolbar is under the address bar, mine doesn't have that toolbar. I have logged in, on the website not sure what else I need to do to make that tool bar show up? All the plugins are showing active.

Awesome, glad you got that sorted. Ad blockers can cause all sorts of issues, they are often times more issues than they are worth.

Question, does anyone have a suggestion on writing style for my blog. I am wondering if I should go more toward storytelling or fact-based. I am in the CBD oil business and wrote a story about my dogs taking CBD its about 1000 words and I have NEVER been a writer or tried. I am just not sure the best way to write for a blog.
Reply

You need to include all the facts, but you need to do it in a way that is interesting. I would say that you should write your posts with both storytelling and facts inside. Over time you will develop a sense of how you want to write so don't worry about it too much.

You'll have the opportunity to do it both ways in separate articles. Be careful about making health claims though. That is something anyone promoting a health product needs to check out (the current 'best practices'). You can share your personal story, especially about animals. But when you share stories/testimonials about diseases, you have to be really careful. The old FDA info I have is you can't even share someone's testimonial unless the product has double-blind research proving it helps with their condition. Sounds like a great start to your writing career!

Great job Kyle. I almost sent you a message but relaxed after reading the article on "Audiences for Wealthy Affiliate". I'm inclined towards WORKERS/EMPLOYEES/SALARY EARNERS. Whether they are low or high income earners, happy or unsatisfied with their job, new career sseekers or those who are about to quit their job.

So please advise me; Can I have these categories of workers/salary earners under my niche? or should I focus on one category?

Workers or Employees that want help with what? You can certainly help this audience, but I would define exactly who they are and what you are going to help them with. ;)

Hi Tritheraj,

If you are wanting to promote WA then you should be going through the WA Bootcamp training courses start with level one see if you think you would like to do this to make money online.

If so you will have to upgrade to premium to go through the rest of the training that will answer all your questions that you have asked.

However, you can stay a starter member and only get level one of the training and strive to achieve making money online by learning from everyone here on the platform on how to do certain things as you asked above.

Remember though if you upgrade to premium you are locked in and can not go back to a starter membership, but if you stay as a starter you can always upgrade at any time to premium later on.

Also if you do not upgrade to premium your two free Site-Rubix websites are only good for 6 months and then they will be deleted, So to keep any work that you did on them (material that you have written and submitted on them) you will have to upgrade to premium or move the website to another hosting service.

Hope this helped!

I, too, await some experienced replies regarding FB questions. I DO know that it is best if we make a blog, with a review of Wealthy Affiliate as a blog post. I am going through the Affiliate Marketing Bootcamp and am about to start writing my WA review. Once that is done, then the link to your review is what you share in any posts about WA on FB/Pinterest/Instagram/etc. The bootcamp answers the commission question also. Go to: Training> Affiliate Bootcamp also, at the top right of every WA page $ > Program Details

Hey Chidimma,

You are a different situation altogether, you have already upgraded to premium. You have access to the training and it will answer all your questions as you progress through it.

Start off with level 1 lesson 1 (then are sequenced for a reason) and continue through the training to find out what all is involved with affiliate marketing and what you need to do to make it profitable this time around.

If you get stuck ask anyone for help most are willing to offer good advice for free to you. Hint use Benji's dad as much as possible he is your WA coach and I am sure he will be more than happy to assist you in any problem you may be facing on the platform here.

Learn while you earn - what a great concept, that can come true here at WA!

Yeah, you can help college students with debt and how to earn income to get them out of debt. That is a huge audience (I know many personally), and WA is a platform that can help them get there. ;)

I am a stay home Mom focusing on creating income working from home(self-employment). I can help other Moms who want to raise their kids - felt that way too but was forced to go back, because a single income was not enough. Our country is facing a 27% unemployment rate(most of them is youth), so I would like to help university students who have completed their studies but can't find jobs. We have baby boomers who are retiring wanting to get some extra income as their pensions will not get them far enough. We also have people seeking any type of employment(unskilled). We also have unions who are always on strike complaining that they are earning minimum wage not a living wage and lastly someone who wants to quit their jobs, but are not prepared to make a jump yet. There is a lot to chew on, I need help in refining my target audience so I can promote WA affiliate.

Okay, so me too, I'd like to start by making my first niche about helping other affiliate marketers, and people who want to learn how to blog, how they can work for themselves, how they can work from home, earn additional income to the day job, give up the day job, have time and financial freedom.

It's something I'm learning about myself, and as the saying goes (I think?): "To teach is the best way to learn" or maybe "the best way to learn is to teach"

Better yet, you can use Jaxxy to do keyword searches that'll help you perhaps choose one of those 2 as your primary market by seeing which one has the most searches and least competition. I ran across some disable home business keywords earlier today.

In the training session Choosing your direction: Isn't the target audience anyone who goes on the internet who would like to make money on line. So the target audience would be Bloggers who would like to make money. I don't understand in training it says take the direction that interests me. Please can you clarify.

I have come up with a few domain names all with .com :

bloggersjackpot, bloggersmiracle, bloggerwinner, bloggermegahit, bloggersfruit.

What sort of content would I be writing. If I was doing a health blog I would write about health foods which is my passion. But I am confused as to what I would have to write for Affiliate Bootcamp.

Thank you

Sure, I like it and those could potentially be your brand names. :)
Reply
CyndiMcK Premium
Those are good names. You could have 2 niche sites: one to write about health and health products for consumers and another to write about how to make money online with affiliate marketing for health, fitness & recipe bloggers. Affiliate Bootcamp is focused on promoting WA (and all the techniques can be used for any product, of course). There is also the Training > Online Entrepreneur Certification that is more about promoting your own niche.
Reply
My goal for 2019 - 2020 is to make atleast 500 referrals to WA. I have almost finished the Online Entrepreneur course and am now beginning the Affiliate Bootcamp course. I am assuming it is not a repeat of the first course, but it is okay if it is. I can always use reinforcement. I need to get further into the training before I declare for the Vegas training
Reply
Kyle Premium
It is not a repeat of the first course. They are different, and they approach two completely different paths in creating a business.

If you want to promote WA and work within the "make money niche", go through the Affiliate Bootcamp training. If you want to build a business within another niche, head through the Get Started Here training.

Focus on just one though. You are going to be much more successful if you focus on one business/website versus trying to do too many things at once. You can always diversify down the road.

Hope this helps you out here Juanna!

Hi,

How do we track the level and interest of our referrals to guide them appropriately? Is there any tool on the website which tells us what are they checking on the WA website? So we can send them the message. What is the level of automation of messages?
Thank you.

You can communicate with all of your referrals that you refer to WA. The training is going to walk you through this, but you can manage your automated messaging that you send to people you invite here at WA through the Messages platform;

One of the road blocks I faced was creating my first article, wow! It took almost a century. Another one was about the layout of my site. That one took a millennium. I'm proud of it. I'm really excited. I know that I'm growing. I will continue to learn and grow.

I really want to see how I can achieve 100 referrers by December 31. Is this too much of an ambition at this stage? Don't have one now but will look for a way to achieve this.

I can do all things!

I also share the same goal and just joined. I do have previous marketing experience but have never properly applied it online. I'm sure there are ways for us to take 'smart' massive action to get those referrals! Rooting for you!
Reply
EddySalomon Premium
Writing will get easier with time. And don't fixate too much on the layout of your website. Focus on the content. 100 referrals for a new site in such a short period of time is highly unrealistic unless you plan to pay traffic.

Just focus on building a quality site and traffic. Referrals will follow in time. And maybe next year you can reach those goals. But this business is very slow and purposeful. You need to think long term and not quick and fast. Because it's not.
Reply
CyndiMcK Premium
Thanks for the advice Eddy. I figured it would take 'massive action' of some sort to make it possibly feasible. FB ads perhaps?
Reply
EddySalomon Premium
You would literally need to do paid advertising and have money to spend. And you would actually have to know what you're doing with paid ads since you can lose money really quickly. So it's not really about massive action in this situation. It would be about purposeful action around paid traffic. And I would never suggest that to a newbie unless you have money to lose while learning.

It is likely because you are going to need to create a custom menu here.

You can add these custom menus to organize your top menu in any way in which you like, as well as create sub-menus (for themes that will support this). You can also use these custom menus to add within your side widgets on your website (within your sidebar).

Here is a tutorial on how to create custom menus: I use custom menus on all of my websites (over-ride that default menu). It allows much more control and organization....both good things!

OK, I always knew that eventually there would be multiple domains but am thinking that I will have to reconsider plans for current domain. As I didn't immediately have a niche that jumped out I came up with concept site that incorporates my interests of self help and marketing. I saw a personal blog site promoting the journey to personal freedom. It would include a section on marketing and MMO, another covering self help as well as freedom/success mindset articles and resources. Ideally it would be more focused but in a blog format could this work or should I reconsider. I've developed some great branding ideas already but am prepared to put on hold or reconsider.

As far as any reviews you post for WA just talk about all the awesome opportunities and second to none training.
Talk about the forms or chat groups were people with years of experience and success help others in WA.

You shouldn't be reviewing WA based on "making money". You are reviewing it based on what it is, the benefits it can offer. If you are reviewing and recommending it as a "make money scheme", you are recommending it in the wrong way.

Wealthy Affiliate is a platform that allows people to create and grow a business in any niche and we provide people (even complete newbies) the opportunity to accomplish this.

Also, your review will evolve naturally over time, so don't feel as though your first review is going to be your last.

Hi Cathy,

Glad to see that you have an interest in the WA platform, I hope things are going good so far! I see you have gotten so great answers already, from Kyle and some of the other members, but I would like to add. . .

If you are concerned about writing a review for a system that you yourself have not made any money with then consider this.

Write the review discussing only what you have learned so far, and what you feel the platform is offering you (as far as tools to help you and your website succeed, the training it offers to get you started in any niche, build, run, and make money from your website, and of course the guidance from members that have been and are making money from there online ventures. If you feel it is necessary to let your visitors know you are new and have not made any money yet using the system then, by all means, do so, it is after all your website and your review.

However, may I suggest to remember to go back and rewrite that section of the review as you start making money; or write an addition to or an amendment to the original review.

The system here only shows you how to do it, it will not make you rich just by going through the training. You have to implement what is taught and if you do not use it correctly or do it on a full-time basis you are not giving it a fair chance to assist you in making money online.

If you don't sow the seed in the first place, it can never reap a reward!

Not just this system but any business model for that matter!

If you don't work it how can it produce money?

Finally finished this lesson. However, it's not as beautiful as one expects. Photos of widgets are displayed in the home page. Menus need arrangement. I would like to make it beautiful, but I think I'll do that later. I suppose the more important thing is that I know now how to do the task. May someone tell me how to change the image of a woman in sideview in my homepage. It is not the theme which I selected during Lesson 3 (Choose a design) however, it just appeared in the homepage. I'll be glad to learn from anyone.Thanks.
Reply
Kyle Premium
Themes will not always look the same when you preview them (before you install them) versus when you actually start using them as there are features, images, etc. that can change the look of your website.

Not to worry at all here though, that is quite normal and as you build out your website, the design and look will evolve as you create content.

In terms of adjusting your appearance and likely some of the widgets on your homepage (again every theme is different),
you will want to go to Appearance => Themes (and "customize" for your particular theme ) within the back office of your website, you will likely see your home page header there which you can upload an image for.

There are typically many other settings in there as well that you can use to manipulate theme colours, font colours, theme images, logos, menus, structure/layout, etc.

See attached image for reference.

Hi Marion. You should be able to click on the Websites tab then on Site content, then click on create new. That should take you to the point where you can create new content and then link it to your new website.

I am struggling a bit to choose my domain name. I'm passionate about language learning but if I have a blog/website with language tips in English, I can't see how I could get earnings from that. I would also love to get referrals for WA but there is no connection to language learning. Can anyone give me advice?

I’m passionate about languages too and also speak different languages, WA is a place to learn a lot like marketing, online business, hosting...etc, maybe you can target people who wants to learn all these kind of “professional language”. Hi,

I have set up SEO as per instructions and have created some posts.

When you create your posts, do you manually need to add a title, description and keyword for each post in the SEO section at the bottom so they are populated. Mine don't look to have anything filled in.
If i look at my posts they all have no SEO title/description and no keyword filled in.

i don't recall seeing a step in training that told us to do this so not sure if i am missing something

Cheers for any help

Neil

The All in One SEO plugin will automatically add all of your titles, descriptions and keywords based on the actual content (for each page and post you publish).

So just set-up the All in One SEO the first time, then afterwards you don't have to add these with each new page or post that is created. This is done for you automatically.

Thanks Kyle,

So just expanding on that.
Should all in one SEO update the keywords and descriptions on the post page in dashboard where i can see all my posts. Reason i ask is they are all currently listed as no description, no title, no keywords. see attached screenshot.

Does this mean i have not set up all in one SEO correctly?

Cheers

So I have a burning question ...

What is the difference between using pages in menus and using categories/posts? For example:

Let's say I have a category called "Legal Stuff" that I have set as a top menu, and I want to add the Privacy Policy, Affiliate Disclosure, and DMCA Policy (and I've made those posts) as sub-menus to it. Would this necessarily be a bad thing? Does it matter?
Reply
Kyle Premium
A post can be categorized. That is typically used for internal categorization, and you can control that. You are going to be managing your menus through custom menus, likely not through categories.

Reply
Lokhi Premium
Many thanks, Kyle ...

I have my posts categorized ... but I tend to make some categories specifically for menus, like the example I made - "Legal Stuff" - and then I'll put the pertinent stuff beneath it. The posts beneath it are also categorized just in case the visitor clicks on the 'legal stuff' category in the tag cloud or on one of the pages/posts. Does that make sense?

I watched that video. I've played around with the menus and I've found a way to do them that I like, I just wasn't sure if the way that I do them is a way that is good or damaging, when it comes to SEO stuff and such.

Yea I'm definitely a perfectionist too. Before I launch anything I want everything to be fully functional, designed the best it can be, and have the best copywriting ever. But what I learned after spending a little more than a year in this business is that being a perfectionist can significantly hinder your progress.

The best thing is to just to do it.

Which sometimes is harder than it sounds. I keep two things in mind to get through these kinds of problems.

1. Blogging isn't like writing a book. I can always come back and change it. So if you write something now and then you feel different about it later, go back to your review and make the change.

2. In the beginning, no one reads the posts except yourself and whoever you give the post to. Over time you will develop your voice and build out your unique following. It's so hard to be perfect in writing. Every person has their own tastes.

Hope that might help you a little.

Sure, you first need to decide WHO your specific audience is . If you are helping people with stinky feet, that would obviously be a really good domain.

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

Yea domain names can't include any spaces or most special characters. So things like () or the spaces between each letter wouldn't qualify. Hi Kyle,

I've been using Jaaxy to narrow down the niche I want to target for WA promotion. I find the Avg search and QSR columns to be very helpful.

I've decided that I want to help people who are seeking passive income. I'm having trouble deciding the direction I want to take on this niche:

I'm stuck between 3 specific keywords and I'm having a hard time deciding which one to build my brand around. These keywords are all things that I could easily create content on.

EX. I want to help people who are seeking passive income, who want [to learn]:
how to work online from home
how to quit my 9 to 5
help for paying off student loans

Can I simply base my decision on which keyword has the best Avg searches to QSR rating? (High avg search, low QSR)

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Ashley :)

Don't base your decisions on keywords for a niche. There are going to be 1,000's of low competition keywords in any niche that you can target with the content you create on your website.

Base your niche on an audience or group of people that you want to help.

Hi, I typed one of many key phrases into jaaxy and got many results, This is one of my 3rd or 4th drill downs on a phrase with lots of traffic and low QSR, The phrase is "how to earn money at home and online" What do you reckon for using it to market W.A. as an affiluiate?

That would be a decent keyword, I do doubt how much traffic that would get.

But it is certainly something that you could target because remember that when you do target a keyword phrase you are actually targeting every internal keyword within that phrase. ;)

Hi everyone :)

How is it that nobody talks about themes selection? I know for a fact that there is important things to take in considerations when choosing a them beside the design. What about SEO friendly themes? Mobile friendly themes or wp themes that have good plugin already in them?
Another important subject is the domain; witch can be better informed in what to look for when buying a new domain vs an aged domain with some link power and authority on it, what about domain with previous penalty from google? am I missing information here or is it not important?
It's a shame that I need to search online for more information for each step, I figured this was the purpose of the training here, to cover all the important information.
Feeling confused here...

Choose a theme that is simple, ideally with a white background and black text (as this is the most readable).

I tend to avoid themes with too many bells and whistles as the focus of your website will be your content and your content will make your website look visually appealing to your audience.

So choose something simple, yet elegant and if you ever need to change down the road, you can easily do so within Appearance => Themes.

There are over 3,000 to choose from there and you will also be able to upload your own from there.

I have created some training on how to do this that you should check out:
Reply
nathaniell Premium
There is no "best" theme out there - it's all a matter of taste. That being said, I always recommend you start with something simple. White background with black text is the way to go. Choose a simple homepage that displays your blog roll, a top menu, and the sidebar. That's it!

Everything else is pretty much a distraction at this point.

Here's just a few simple themes I found that I like, but there are thousands more out there. Also, you can skip "aged" domains. They are not worth the money IMO. You can spend tons of hours and a chunk of money, and you'll probably end up with a domain that performs on par with a brand new one.

Those inbound links won't be worth much if they are pointing to 404 pages. If they are not relevant to your current niche, you may even end up with an unnatural link penalty.

Sure, in some cases, a relevant, aged domain, with proper redirects, in the same niche, COULD help you rank faster and better. But that takes a lot of time to research, and a chunk of money to buy, so most people are better off starting off fresh.

Plus, Google says age is not a ranking signal.

Well, I went through this training, and I understand everything that it is saying, but I am finding a hard time with the branding and target audience. I am looking at a target audience of people looking to make money online from home. I thought about a brand "Affiliate from the 808". I already purchased a domain loretta-mabrey.com. So my question is do I need to change my domain name?

Yes, you should come up with a domain that reflects your niche, IMO. Unless your niche is personal blogger/influencer...

Hi Bill - granpaRolf here. By choosing th Bootcamp you wull learn how to promote Wealthy Affiliate as an affiliate.

You can get a decent paycheck becoming an affiliate of WA, but it takes time.

There is no shortcuts here unfortunately - the only thing we have to do is follow the training and then take the requested action, i.e. do the tasks required

I hope this helps as I choose this route and it suits me!

I'm trying to pick a niche to get started, I cant find at the moment something that fit perfectly to my knowledge and that I'm passionate about and I made my peace with that. I think I can write about some topics regarding digital marketing focusing on search engine optimization but I know its a bit broad and very competitive. currently I'm trying to choose my brand direction and I cant decide... going with the example in the lesson, my "Brand" direction is helping people make money from home/online but I still feel it is very broad and I fear that in the future this would be my biggest problem so I'm not sure how to move foreword.
What do you think?

Hi Ellash - granpaRolf here. I had the same problem, and I solved it by choosing to promote Wealthy Affiliate. So now I am going through the Bootcamp.

As Kyle said, we don't need to choose our brand immediately, as we will likely go into multiple niches as we understand more of the online marketing scene.

And your interest ans skills you can apply in any niche. This is my humble advice from another "scatter mind" that has found "clarity" in choosing the most obvious - promoting WA!

Hooping this helps!

I will figure this out.
Thanks anyway! its nice to meet you :)

I have been reading a couple of reviews and these people has experience within Affiliate marketing, and can show statistics and earnings from their activity.

What do I do without any experience or traction or earnings? Will it not be a little pretentious of me to claim that I can advise them about what to do?

I have written a lot of technical reports in my time within my own domain of expertise, but does that give me the right to advice others in a topic that I hardly understand thoroughly yet?,

I also understand the CIAO principle, but is this enough to write a review? I want to help people, not mislead them - that's my initial worry.

Can someone tell m if I am totally out for lunch here or are these valid concerns?

Reply, these are legitimate concerns. When you are trying to be an honest business person, it can feel like you are pushing against the tide.

I am in the same boat as you, I have only played with blogging and website building over the years. Never too much success... But with every failure comes knowledge. Share that knowledge, share your understanding right now.

Check out my review of WA here and see if you find it helpful. It does not brag about all the money I earn or success I have had. Remember, that you can always update and rewrite the article as your knowledge and experience grow.

In fact, I would recommend it.

So this helps me see that even I can provide helpful insights when I write my review - because of the insights I have gained from the training - by just following the CIAO template laid out by Kyle!

I am following you now, as you proved to give good advice and I may turn to you again later. And who knows - I may later be in the position to give advice later - even to you...!

Thanks again, now I have to go and write my review of Wealthy Affiliate, and you'll get a link when it's done.

Hi Dovey, I was going through the training and saw your response to this VERY good question, and I am so impressed with your website!!! Thank you for taking the time to link it so we can see an awesome example of a successful WA website. I am seriously pumped about getting content written and getting ranked!!! What's crazy is, I never knew I was passionate about this until a few days ago. I'd hear about affiliate marketing before, but could never get a straight answer from any of the YouTube videos I was watching. It wasn't until the other day when I was looking up one of those YouTube videos to see if it was a scam and I was redirected to another members site that recommended WA. Since then I have seriously progressed. This is FUN!!!

Sorry, never mind, I figured it out. I made the menus. I still don't like this theme though. I am going to change it. I just wanted soemthng different ...

Then change your theme to something else. If you don't like how your theme works, there are lots of options. In fact you have access to over 3,000 themes as a premium member.

You can change your theme at any time within your WP-admin:

Appearance => Themes

There are over 3,000 to choose from there and you will also be able to upload your own from there.

Simply do a search there (the search is pretty good) and you will be able to find a theme/look that you are seeking.

I have created some training on how to do this that you should check out:

Retired individuals and couples is my direction (being a retiree myself)
But I have 3 other alternative as ptentialell,
1, College/University students
2. Recurring income seekers
3. Work from home

My favorite is the retired individual/couple but I think the 3 other also have great potential. I need some pointers what should be the direction of the site.
Reply
Robert-A Premium
Work From Home is pretty broad as it takes in a wide variety of people and 'Jobs'.

Students is quite good as they are more likely to be short of cash anyway and they would be an ideal target audience.

Over 60's is quite good as well but a lot of that age group would probably not be all that computer literate unless their former employment meant they used computers in that employment.

They might think that WA is not a good option to earn extra money even though the training is step by step it might put them off.

Just my opinion Rolf and based on conversations I have with the over 60's.

I was actually 70 in June but have a lot of online experience from my former 9 to 5.

Hi all - appreciate your comment good or bad-
My desired nitch would be to help those that are down and out financially and in the above 40yo bracket. This tends to be the age that those on standard wages struggle with education fees for near-adult kids, mortgage, and general living. If you add a job loss into the mix it is a disaster.
I do plan to make a site with lots of free content and resource links and have WA in there somewhere.
Should anyone have advice, comments or thoughts as to how to source content and break the nitch down I would very much appreciate it. Thank you

Hi Kyle, on Twitter I have two author accounts, one under my real name and one under a pen name, with both accounts combined I have around 8000 followers (90% of them authors - I am an author).

So, I am thinking of creating a niche for struggling authors. There are thousands, perhaps millions out there who are not getting noticed and are not making money with their books.

The other thing I thought of was teachers. A teacher has the most important job, basically, and is underpaid. A niche for something extra for teachers. What do you think? I would love to get some feedback on both ideas.

My nr. 1 is the author idea. Any thoughts?

You do not have to promote WA if you don't want to.
If you have experience and or knowledge of a particular Niche then by all means go down that road.
The Bootcamp tells you how to be an affiliate whether you promote WA or not.
The lessons are worth taking for that reason alone.

At 86 years young, I know a little about the retirement life. I want to direct my attention to retirees. I have two registered domain names: hotwombat.com and workfromhomeynot.com. The hotwombat name is something that has been running around in my head for years. I have used the name ‘HotWombat’ for a number of free web sites to post crossword puzzles I have constructed. They were all slanted towards learners of English. I did those years ago, and unfortunately, I have lost usernames and passwords and so, no longer have access to those web sites. I have no idea what the number of visitors were to those sites, anyway I have moved on. I have digressed, sorry. I want to build a brand for the retiree niche and think if I worked consistently with the hotwombat domain, I could brand it as ‘retiree specialist’. The other domain, workfromhomeynot, could be used for a more scattergun approach to keywords for Wealthy Affiliate.

I would love to get some feedback on my idea re how to use the two foregoing domain names.

Take care,

The gist of it that it is possible to completely reverse type 2 diabetes by losing weight and in particular the weight that sits around your pancreas and liver as this is what inhibits the production of insulin. Dr Michael Moseley has written a book and recipe book called the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet that explains it all in more detail and he talks about loads of people who have used the diet to completely reverse their diabetes and come off their medication. Hi,
Choosing a niche can be complex. But this is what I have being doing. I wrote down the areas I like or have an interest in. If I don't have any knowledge I do some research and then ask my girl friend what she thinks she has been help. I've also looked into to areas that I myself need help with personally I figure that will give me the edge to do the research, help myself and others at the same time, this part however ties into my line of work over the past 20 years.

What kind of work or activates have you been involved in?
Do you think there are people out there that would benefit from that information?
What do you have a passion for that has an audience or there isn't enough information out there and you can share your knowledge?

I hope this help in someway.

This can certainly be the case. Not always though, but you shouldn't be adding affiliate links right away to your website either.

Being 86 years young I understand a lot about retirement. I was fortunate when I closed my last bricks and mortar business in 2000. My savings, together with direction from a financial advisor, has given me a reasonable standard of living. Not the best, but okay.

I look around at other retirees and realise how much better off I am than many others.

Since coming across Wealthy Affiliate, I regret not having discovered it 10 years ago. If I had, my life style would be a peg or two above what it is now.

My goal, (or at least one of them) is to intoduce Wealthy Affiliate to as many as I can as a way to build a passive income, regardless of their age, that will carry on into their retirement years.

I already activate EWWW Image Optimizer and then showing this.
EWWW Image Optimizer requires exec() to perform local compression. Your system administrator has disabled the exec() function, ask them to enable it.
An API key or ExactDN subscription will allow you to offload the compression to our dedicated servers instead.

But in the video just got two plugins, do I have to delete Classic Editor and Kraken Image Optimizer? Also, advice to add other plugins, should I have to add others or only activate Ewww image optimizer and all in one seo?

Thank you guys:D

Here comes the answer. :D

We are excited to let you know that the EWWW image optimizer plugin has been replaced by a much better and enterprise-level image optimizer called Kraken.io. Kraken is an outstanding paid image optimizing service that we have included in the new Server Class at Wealthy Affiliate free of charge!

We have installed the Kraken plugin and activated it on your website. Ewww image optimizer has been disabled and one of the reasons is because it requires server settings that can leave the serverless secure. As part of our continued efforts to provide the most secure servers, EWWW is no longer able to run on this new server Class with heightened security.

You will find Kraken and image optimization settings under your installed Plugins area.

I think that you will really love Kraken as an image optimization platform that is now available with your Premium membership here at WA :)

First to refresh your page you can either press F5 or if using Chrome next door to the Home Icon to the left of the URL there is a small arrow type icon you click there and that will also refresh the page.

As for the content being displayed rather than just the name of the page it would really be down to the configuration of the menu being set up. If you like send me your website address and I will happily look more for you.

Another question again, if you are targeting let’s say a group of prisoners who wants to make money online, and off course your niche is the make money online niche’’ and then your website is

mybe ‘’ DONE DEAL AFFILIATE’’ You want to write an article on a keyword like ‘’affiliate marketing training free’’. How do you target this specific group of prisoners or people with undesirable jobs and people with Undesirable Jobs?

How do you build your content or website towards that specific chosen direction because everyone has a direction per the training?
Thank you.

Hi Kyle, please for some time now, something has been happening to my website that I don't understand.

I started out with Wealthy Affiliate in November 2018. Paid my first $19 but after the first month, I couldn't afford the second subscription. So, my account was blocked and my first website deleted.

When I resubscribed on 15 Match 2019, I created a new website with the same domain name and reposted all the old contents. While I was posting the contents, I got a pop-up message saying that ''the content I am trying to post is detected as PLAGIARIZED''.

So, I contacted ERIC CANTOU and he told me that, since I am the original author of the contents, there is no problem, that google will index them with time.

So, I went ahead and posted all of them and added new contents as well.

It took over three months for some of the contents to start getting indexed and when it finally did, the old once were not getting indexed yet, and are still are not indexed. The new once are getting indexed.

Meanwhile, when I first started last year November, it took just weeks for 9 out of 12 contents to get indexed, but this time around it took over three months. What happened?

And as I write to you, I have 42 articles posted but not up to 30 is indexed.

I want to find out if there is anything wrong. Is there something I am not doing right that can be a problem to my rankings?

I have tried asking the community but couldn't get any reasonable response. Please talk to me. This is the fourth month running out and yet no record of ranking or what is happening. I need to know.

Waiting to hear from you.
Yenge Eric.

And my brand is My Profitable Purpose or My Profitable Passions not sure which one yet , I chose that because after going through the darkest time in my life suffering depression i never thought possible (with no history of depression or mental illness) I feel that my passion and purpose in life is to help those who have lost hope or suffered from depression male money online when they dont see a way for themselves!

An Enhanced Life, but will any of those work or are they to broad? My purpose is to encourage people to become their version of success through affiliate marketing. I appreciate your feedback.
Thanks,

Sure, that is an approach you can take with your brand. Just make sure you define your audience, living your "best life" will mean many different things, to many people. So just consider that.

Hi

Can I canvas opinions please on my proposed direction for my website to promote Wealthy Affiliate? I would like to help people who want to create a better work-life balance and to find financial freedom. In particular, I would like to help mums who are struggling to find well paid part time jobs to fit around looking after their children, especially those who had a professional or well paid full time job before having kids. I have many friends in the UK in this position.

thank you
Emma

Hi angela!

What are some of the things you do as a stay at home mom?
maybe make a list of those things first and find ways you can help others with that thing you chose.

the good thing about wealthy affiliate is it can be promoted whichever angle you decide to take.

ex: help other stay at home moms ( like myself ) set up blogs and suggest wealthy affiliate to help them get started and you not only help but you also make money doing so.

win win for everyone......

Im new myself btw. so I understand your frustration, just try and be patience with yourself.

Maybe just an idea

since you work 50 hours at your current position and you have been doing this for a while, examine skills you use there.

maybe there is something in your daily work that you can help others with, then find a way( product or service) related to that you can monetize from.

We are similar in our desires.

I worked 40 + hours in customer service... I hated it but I did learn how to help frustrated people and has become better at solving problems.

My niche is making money on-line and I plan to make to make a income from W/A.

I am just starting like you so I dont have a success story beside the success I felt from starting.

But I can say I have a better direction from going through the training.

Wish you well Love!

I have almost finished with my WA review.
I still have 2 questions.
1- I do not succeed to use H1 H2 H3 ...
I have tried my best but I did not succeed to give to my internal headlines the size I would like.
Is it necessary to put an email address in my WA review to allow users to contact me? If yes, shall I link Gmail address? Or what to do?
Thanks.

You could add a plugin that will give you more Fonts and Styles.

My blog on the subject You should have an email address linked to your website already and you should have a Contact Form as well.

So the article mentioned stay-at-home moms as one of the targets. I'm a stay at home mom of 4, 5 and under, and I'm always being asked how I do it explicitly since my husband on
