Welcome to the Affiliate Bootcamp!

Are you ready to learn a lot, have a bunch of fun, build a full time income and brand, and promote a platform that you can believe in, trust and that can truly help people in a positive way?

If your answer is yes, then you are definitely in the right place and I know you are going to love what we have in store for you in the upcoming lessons.

First things first though, a little run down of the affiliate program at Wealthy Affiliate and how this training will work.

Who Am I & Why Do I Care?

I am Kyle, co-founder of Wealthy Affiliate. I am going to be walking you through the process of building a business online, through the promotion of WA and likely other programs. I have been actively working with close to 1,000,000 affiliates since 2005 and I have helped MANY create full time, 6-7 figure businesses online.

That is my absolute focus with you. Success.

I want to help you build a full time business and an established brand online. I also want to personally be hanging out with you every year at our fully paid for, Annual Super Affiliate Conference in Las Vegas (more on that later).

Wealthy Affiliate is mine and Carson's passion (me on left with family, Carson on right). We live and breathe Wealthy Affiliate and as time goes on, the platform here truly evolves and gets better with every day that passes. We built WA based on helping people succeed, and we don't have any plans to divert from our core principles.

If you are committed to this training, I am committed to you! That I can assure you of.

So if you are ready to do BIG things online, I am ready to help you get there. :)

The WA Affiliate Program, It's Awesome!

The affiliate program here at Wealthy Affiliate is one of the most technologically advanced, sophisticated, and progressive platforms in the world. We were born and raised in this industry as “affiliates” and we are still affiliates to this day. It's in our genetic code!

Because of this and being involved in 100’s of different affiliate programs over the years, we have a very good grasp as to what affiliates want and we are constantly working to over deliver.

There are many different aspects to the WA Affiliate Program that you can leverage to maximize your reach, revenue and overall conversions and I am going to give you a brief overview of these now. Of course as we move through the Bootcamp training, I am going to be getting more and more advanced with this training.

A few important menus I want you to understand. The first is the "$" icon in the header, if you click this you will be able to access the full affiliate resource menu (as shown below).

This menu includes SEVEN items, I am going to quickly run you through all of them and then provide you with a video walking you through the ALL aspects of the affiliate program in its entirety.

  • Program Details. This is where you can go to get full details about the Affiliate Program, the commission structures, your main affiliate link, your incentive countdown, etc.
  • My Stats. This is where you can go to get detailed information about stats and all commissions/transactions.
  • Tasks. These are all the interaction and communication (questions) that are taking place within WA in respect to your referrals. You will want to complete these as they come in, interacting with your referrals leads to much higher conversions.
  • My Referrals. This will show you all your referrals that have joined through your affiliate link, both Starter and Premium.
  • Links & Tracking. This is where you can to get all of your affiliate links, to create your own tracking links, and to add tracking for services like Google Adwords, BingAds.com and Facebook.com.
  • Messages. These are automated, follow-up messages that you can create for your referrals!
  • Banners. Self explanatory here, these are banners that you can use on social media, on your website, or anywhere you like that you can add a banner promoting WA.

Within the side bar, you will see the Training buttonwithin the menu. Then upon clicking that, it will open the training area and you will see the Affiliate Bootcamp training area as the second item down.

If you click this menu, it will pop open all of the phases of Bootcamp. Each Phase has 10 lessons and as you move through this training and check off the tasks, you are going to notice that the Affiliate Bootcamp button text will update to reflect which lesson you are currently on.

In other words, it is a "smart" button and will always take you back to your last completed task within the training.

Your Potential & Commission Structure.

The affiliate program at Wealthy Affiliate is not just advanced from a technology standpoint, but you are also getting one of the most appealing RECURRING commission structures in all of the affiliate marketing space.

Invites: They Join WA for Free

STARTER Member Commissions:

Initial $19 offer, Commission = $4
$49/mth, Commission = $11.25 recurring
$359/year, Commission = $87.50 recurring

If you are a Premium Member here at Wealthy Affiliate, you get double the commissions as an affiliate and you also get to take part in our $1 credit program, which allows you to earn from free members you sign-up that set-up their accounts. You also earn money with each domain your referrals buy.

PREMIUM Member Commissions: (100% higher commissions!!!)

Credits: They Set-up their account = $1
Domain Purchases: $1 recurring
Initial $19 offer, Commission = $8
$49/mth, Commission = $23.50 recurring
$359/year, Commission = $175 recurring!

**Note: on average 1:8 upgrade to yearly, depending on the affiliate, and 12% of all free Starter referrals end up going Premium.

When you sign-up someone for free, your goal is to get them to set-up their account. Setting up ones account will lead you to an initial $1 (2 credits x $0.50). These add up when you are a Premium member.

When someone sets up their account, they are granted an initial $19 first month offer. This converts very well and almost everyone decides to stay after the first month because of the value, the quality of the services, the help they get, and the overall positive experience offered here at Wealthy Affiliate.

We offer lifetime commissions and lifetime cookies, which is truly unheard of in the industry. If you refer someone to WA, they are your referral FOREVER.

Unlike many programs in the industry that focus on "taking advantage of customers", our focus has and always will be making our service better. The better our service gets, the more people that stick around, stick around for longer, and the better our conversions get.

That is our PATH to making you more money. Striving to make our service the best in the industry is our goal and this will remain our constant focus. The MONEY you earn as a result of this and the trust you build from the people you refer to Wealthy Affiliate will lead you to a long term and INCREDIBLE business online.

**We pay out on the 1st of every month, and we have not missed a single affiliate payment since our inception 12 years ago. We pay on time and we pay out MILLIONS of DOLLARS per year!

Task 1: Add Your Affiliate Goals!

We have created a discussion where you can add your affiliate goals, not just for the upcoming bootcamp though. I am a long term guy myself. I know what can be accomplished in a year...a year is a like a blink in time and before you know it next year is going to be here.

What if you could make 100 referrals by next year...what about 200...what about 500....a 1000? Be realistic, but be unrealistic. You never reach goals that you thought were unattainable if you never set them.

Add your goals here within the following thread.

==> ADD YOUR GOALS: What are your WA Promotional Goals in 2018?

Also, comment on AT LEAST two other people's goals within the thread. This is a community here at WA and we are all here to help one another succeed.

You can begin your networking now and you are going to build some awesome relationships which will only further your online success. So take a minute and encourage at least two other people with their goals as well.

I want to let you know about something as well. If you can reach 300 unique referrals through the course of this year, we are going to fly you to Vegas for a private conference (read below).

Task 2: Las Vegas, We Want YOU There in 2019!

We like to do things differently at Wealthy Affiliate. Other companies try to convince you to attend their "high ticket" conferences, we want to PAY for you to come to our conference.

Every year we run an ultra exclusive WA Super Affiliate Conference in Las Vegas, all expenses paid. You may have noticed a counter in your Airplane Icon in the header, if you can make 300 referrals in a calendar year, you are going to be personally invited by Carson and myself to hang out in Vegas next year.

Read about the experience from the most recent years conference. It was the most powerful, amazing conference to date and we would love nothing more than to have you there next year!

DISCUSSION: Vegas 2018. It was big. Vegas 2019 Will Be BIGGER!

Task 3: Watch the Affiliate Program Walk through

Here is an introduction video to Wealthy Affiliate. This is going to give you an overview of your stats pages and show you around the set-up of your affiliate account.

DISCUSS VIDEO: WA Affiliate Program - A Comprehensive Walk-through

It is important that you go through this so you fully understand the process.

Task 4: Officially Join the Affiliate Bootcamp

We run promotions throughout the year and update our affiliate program regularly. We want to keep you informed of any timely offers that you can take advantage of. We will also be able to connect with you to offer specialized training, promotional materials, motivation, and new advancements to the Bootcamp course.

You Are Already Officially Part of Affiliate Bootcamp!

This is a necessity if you want to become a top affiliate. I want you to take a second right now and officially join Affiliate Bootcamp by clicking the button above. It is going to help you keep on track, keep you informed, and is going to allow us help you make more money! This is a requirement to continue with this course...and something that is going to help you out as well!

Hi guys, I've started to build a site around cooking and fitness where I plan to promote cooking books, appliances and pretty much most thing related to home cooking (with health and fitness in mind).

To promote WA should I have a complete separate website or would it work as part of my cooking website with a "here's how to take back control of your time so you can cook" kind of message?

Thank you guys for any inputs!

Yes, focus on just one niche per website. So if down the road you wanted to be involved in many different niches, you will want to create several different websites.

You will get there.
Reply

Hi Gael, yes you can also promote WA if niche that is not related to "make money online". However, the conversion is usually lower because the visitors are not going to your site with the intent of making money online.

My niche is "get out of debt on your own" or "get out on your own" or "how to move out of your parents house" all of them have awesome keywords with great and no competition. I thought about "Real Enterprise" to catch the Star Trek loving crowd. And my name happens to be Kirk. What do you think?

Getting out of debt is a good one, I'd stick with that Kirk.

My niche can be very broad. I kinda like that then I don't have to hone in on one style or cuisine. I want explore Kitchen equipment ,recipes, ingredients, how food is processed around the world, Sanitation sustainability of food in world's food supply. Do you have any suggestions, I'm very open to comments and training.
Reply
KimberleyR Premium
You have a broad list of topics above. Each one, really, could be a niche. I suggest you narrow down to start - maybe with kitchen equipment as it would be fairly easy to monetize. I only suggest this because it will be harder to get your website ranked as an authority site if you start too general. You can always add pages and subdomains later, or use the other topics as post ideas.

I want to target people just like the ones on here. How did you end up here? What brought you to this site? What made you stay and invest? Lets get those answers going - Those are all the niches.

Personally, I came here looking for a legitimate way to first supplement and then hopefully take over as my primary source of income. That is who I want to target. Other people like me.

My interests are personal development, fitness, language.

Fitness and language are profitable industries which are hyper-competitive.

How much you earn matter, but more importantly is who you become.

I would like to become affiliate of a more narrow niche in personal development products/services.

I am considering become Brian Tracy/ T Harv Eker/other name brand affiliate.

Any other better ideas?

Your niche ideas are definitely viable directions for your niche. You need to choose one when starting out, what are you most passionate about?

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

I'm having trouble settling on one "Target Audience". In fact, I'm not so sure I want to limit my campaign to only one audience. So is the answer to have multiple sites, or can I use the same site and target multiple audiences.

I'm kind of stuck here and don't know how to go forward.

Hi Steve,
Target audience does not meant small group of people.
Example: if your audience are people who are looking to make money online, there are specific people you can be targeting:
- retirees who are looking to earn extra income
- college student who want to pay their study loan
- single moms / dads
- people who are 9-5 job and not earning enough
Hope you get the idea.

I do believe you can still open multiple sites that are linked or independent depending on what your goal and objective is. For example I am in the health care field. My niche is sickle cell anemia, cancer and workplace wellness. I hope to publish information for different people related to the above topics. And since I can have upto 50 sites through WA as a premium member I will try to utilize this chance. This is great.

Had to call Apple support for support. They took care of it by doing a backup and could not find any malware in the system. It only happened because I did not create through site content. Wealthy Affiliate is really the best way to go. A lesson learned and appreciated.

Excellent areas to hit. I myself have Bipolar, and bad social anxiety since my nervous breakdown plus bone spurs in my back and neck that are inoperable and cause severe nerve pinching when they cause flare-ups in the tissues and such around them. The big selling point for me was that it was a business I could not only do but with my time to study I could do well at. That's why I returned to it after my breakdown instead of to the workforce that helped get me there.

What is your option: a broad or narrow brand (like affiliate marketing)?

I will promote WA to people like me that hate to work 7-16 every day, without a degree, but still capable and knowledgeable enough to make it here. I will do my site in Swedish at first I think but I don't know yet for sure. Its hard to research in other languages because the services aren't as great as jaaxy. If someone knows how to use Jaaxy with other languages, please let me know.

Since you can write in English too, why don't you create a multi language site and reach more people instead of limiting your site to those who know Swedish.

In any niche, you always room to have your fair share of the market. Of course there are competitive niche but there are always sub niches within that niche that you can enter and be different from others. When you are talking about affiliate marketing + free traffic, you have to be ready to spend a lot of time initially to build up your site. Even you create your site in Swedish only. With a bit investment, there are plugin that can translate your Swedish site to English almost automatically. Definitely this is possible - just don't limit your thinking.

All the best.

I would be targeting people who currently have full time employment, but want to make side money online from home. Any insight or potential warnings about this niche?

I can relate, I used to be in a similar situation. So many people know exactly where you're coming from and your story would definitely resonate with them.

As for the niche showing people a way out of their day jobs for an online experience. It's a great one but very competitive. But don't let that stop you mate, there are a million and one ways to push your message home.

In order to achieve success you have to be resilient in your desired space, so go for it.

I'd recommend talking to people in your immediate circle about your online venture, friends etc, about what you're set out to achieve, this can even lead to potential clients.

Good luck mate.

As someone who is disabled my target audience will be others who are also facing physical and mental challenges, as well as their caregivers. Very few families with a disabled member have sufficient income so I believe this will be a good audience.

However, a few months ago I wrote a blog post about earning income online and did not get any comments. I question if this was just the fact I have a small readership or if I have selected the wrong audience--at least to begin with. Or, if it was my approach to the subject--something I hope to remedy through this course.

I appreciate any insights fellow WA members have.

The "earning money online" niche is highly competitive, and I'm sure you had a killer post.

However it does sound like your disabled target audience would be more engaged with your content as they can resonate to you.

I haven't started promoting WA yet as I'm in the process of building out my site for that specifically. But I can give you a few ideas for keywords that I have been using to promote other Affiliate Products/Programmes.

Like you said, good keywords for promoting WA have been used probably millions of times.

What I tend to do in my campaigns is target the same audience but with slightly different worded keywords such as.

-Passive income ideas for 2018
-Part time online jobs/hustles that can earn you $$$ per month.
-Online jobs to substitute your income

Just to name a few, these are all variations of the same thing. Affiliate marketing/making money online etc.

Hope this gets your creative juices flowing.

You have the right idea, most baby products compliment each other and being a mum yourself you know exactly what your target audience needs and wants are.

As for the name of your site, make it your own, something that says you're a mum proud to be helping other mums. If I was a mum I'd resonate with that.

Ok I think I may have said mum too much. Good luck

It is always best to have a white background with black text. This has been proven over and over again to lead to the highest readability and subsequently the highest rate of conversions on a website.

Thanks for the lesson, it was loud and crystal clear even though I had a little bit of difficulty with my content having a lot of "my" which needed to be changed to "by", and when I did change them to the suggested word , the whole sentence made no sense at all. So I had to reconstruct the whole sentence. Nevertheless, I made it at the end of the day, and Google indexed my "About Me" page.

I just started here and I am not sure that the direction I am contemplating on heading even has a niche market. As I am very interested in the food industry I wanted to do something related to the different food cultures. At the same time I am also very invested in things like the Doomsday vault and De-extinction and wanted to go towards in that direction. Any suggestions on how I should go about this is very welcome.

hello and welcome
what I would do if I'm understanding what you are saying is that I would start small and when you get the hang of it, then you will have room to grow and build.
So I would just start out with the food and beverage industry and watch it grow then move onto the next task.

This is great training!

I created a site and a niche that im 100% focused on. Now reading this, I'm thinking about promoting WA on my site.

My question is, could you combine an entirely different niche (electronics) website already set up and promote WA?

Or

Would it just be wise to build an entirely new site from the ground up and promote WA through there?

Thanks
Jose
Reply
Kyle Premium
You never want to combine different niches into ONE website, and you should avoid trying to manage a bunch of different websites when starting out.

Focus on just ONE website and create success with that before diversifying and creating multiple niche websites.

It only takes ONE website in one niche to be very successful online. I usually find that folks that try to do too much at once (focus on several niche websites) end up in a state of mediocrity because it can be overwhelming and you don't really ever become the expert in just one niche.

It is the experts (specialists) that create long term, successful businesses in any niche.

Hi Rich,
Regardless of where you purchase a domain name, you will always be able to "point" that domain to your hosting. This will always be the case, no matter where either was purchased.

If you upgrade, you will keep the same account and a new world of training and community access will be available.

We actually have a "Move" feature that you will see right within the SiteManager.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites

You can move any domain to any domain hosted here at WA. For example, if you wanted to move your Siterubix website to a domain that you have purchased, then it is a very simple process.

The "Move" feature also handles for all proper redirects and SEO, it will transfer your site in its entirety and it is as simple as a few clicks. See attached screenshot for what I am referring to here.

And as mentioned, the members area is the same, but you have access to absolutely everything, with more technology, training, support, features, and general access.

So I have been interested in affiliate marketing for a long time. But the main problem was that I could not find a good course like this one to learn everything, so I would like to first thank you for making it!
Second, because I have been looking around for a long time I have also learned how to make a website with an affiliate system myself. I am a web designer but I like to make projects that makes a passive income.. so my question is, if one day I would make a simple website with a product that I can sell and connect an affiliate system to it. Can I tell people here that they can also sell this product?

Reply

Without getting into the details and pinpoint accuracy, just remember that if you are a premium member and you are able to refer or encourage people to become premium members through your WA link, you get approximately a commission of 50% of what they pay. Never mind about the other scaled down commissions that will just blur your understanding. You surely are after the big buck anyway so just focus on the 50% commission to motivate you.

Yet I have one question! Do you have to build a website first in order to become a promoter of Wealthy Affiliate ?
Reply
CristianoB Premium
No not at all, with the way that affiliate links work, you only need the link itself to get up and going. However you distribute it is truly up to you, whether thats through email marketing, social media or some other means. The member need only discover WA by clicking your link for you to get the credit. Personally I HIGHLY reccommend building an authoratative website and using that to push your link "reach" but if you already have a following somewhere or sway in a relative community then by all means, website isnt the only way to go.
Reply
kurnazer Premium
If you want to promote WA, I believe you just need to send visitors to WA through your affiliate link, so no website is needed. But without a website/blog you are limiting yourself on how you can promote WA. More than that your campaign will not very effective because if you send visitors to WA and it is their first time most likely they will not sign up at WA. So having a website is not an absolute must but it is also very important.

It could be Wealthy Affiliate program, Amazon product, etc. Once they are on my website I want to make it hard for them to leave. Is that possible with this type of website?
Reply
Kyle Premium
Yes, you can build any type of website you like here. By hard to leave, what specifically do you mean. People will leave your website if your content is not interesting, and your content is not relevant.

So those should be focal points of your website. I recommend that you go through the bootcamp training and take action on what you learn there, you are going to be building a solid foundation for your business right from the ground up.

Themes will not always look the same when you preview them (before you install them) versus when you actually start using them as there are features, images, etc. that can change the look of your website.

Not to worry at all here though, that is quite normal and as you build out your website, the design and look will evolve as you create content.

With 30 years in the D2D universe I was able to notice the baby boomer demographic as a strong category to dive into. I think this category offers a tremendous opportunity with the right messaging, services and product line that gravitates to the 50-70 age group. I can’t help to notice that regardless of many of them living on a fix retirement income, a great number of his group is always seeking alternatives ways of a secondary income. So, I’m thinking in refining and simplifying the need of this niche, since many of them remain open to income opportunities. Some good feedback, and ideas are greatly welcomed.
Reply
Kyle Premium
Don't over think the demographics, rather choose your brand.

When you choose a domain, you are going to want to choose something that is "brandable" versus something that has keywords within it. The reason this is the case is because as you build out your website, you can target as many keywords as you like within the content (that is how you will rank).

I have created a discussion here outlining the process and what to look for when choosing a domain name: This should help you out here and if you ever want to run any domains by me, simply let me know and I will give you some feedback.

I think you are on the correct path, most definitely there is lots of opportunity for the recent grad from high school or college. If they can grasp and understand the opportunity that's before them. I say all that because I have a 23-year-old that’s taken me a long time to convince and cultivate him to understand that if he knew what I know now, he would be jumping all over the opportunity of any online business and social media world. The idea would be to get a small group of them going, and I guess the rest would just follow along the way, and not to mention, the effortlessness this age group has to understand today's digital universe, they are probably way ahead of any other age group in today's world. I think you are on to something promising my friend…..

If you want to promote WA and work within the "make money niche" (which it sounds like), go through the Affiliate Bootcamp training. If you want to build a business within another niche, head through the Get Started Here training.

Focus on just one though. You are going to be much more successful if you focus on one business/website versus trying to do too many things at once. You can always diversify down the road.

And I will promote this with my content value, helping people in this niche to become aware of "WA" avenues to earn online.

I've come to grief trying to create Wordpress sites before and at first glance this appears to be no different, but that is because I don't know where it is going or what the planned stages are.

The first issue is the theme, not knowing which one or ones are most suitable for promoting WA, which is what I'm expecting this will teach me. I would expect to create a landing page with some sort of offer followed by an email capture page then a thank you page which links to my website where I can discuss the benefits of WA.

So once I had followed the instructions and created a site (after much time spent trying to select a suitable theme), I thought I had to immediately add relevant content by amending the existing posts and trying to create suitable landing page content only to be told in the next video to delete the posts and that I woiuld be continually adding content to the website, not something I would expect to do for a landing page.

So can someone please give me an idea of the plan, so in future I'm not trying to jump ahead and waste time trying to do things that are going to be explained later.
Reply
Kyle Premium
Don't overthink the process. Choose a theme that is simple, ideally with a white background and black text (as this is the most readable).

I tend to avoid themes with too many bells and whistles as the focus of your website will be your content and your content will make your website look visually appealing to your audience.

So choose something simple, yet elegant and if you ever need to change down the road, you can easily do so within Appearance => Themes.

There are over 3,000 to choose from there and you will also be able to upload your own from there.

I have created some training on how to do this that you should check out: You can always shift to a new and more complex theme down the road, but I recommend keeping things simple when starting out. It is your content that will rank, get traffic, and convert. Not the bells and whistles within a theme.

What aspect of the travel niche do you want to help people with? There are literally 1,000's of niches within these categories and you will want to narrow it down. Where specifically? What type of travel? What aspect of travel?

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Howdy Everyone!
I have a couple of ideas on targeting my audience, but will choose one for now. Just want to take it one step at time.
My target audience is for those that are looking for 'Money Making Strategies', I know is more of a general audience. However, I want to know if I'm in the right direction?
Reply

Absolutely that can work. Money making strategies can be a niche, with that brand you could start more narrow and then you could diversify with time.

Hey I could use some help refining my niche, if you asked me my niche I would say it's...

Building funnels around affiliate marketing and getting traffic using Instagram marketing

My audience is aspiring affiliate marketers who work a 9-5.

My brand is Funnelmentals

Any tips on how to make sense of this? Or am I on the right path?

I am still busy with OCE training and already registered a domain wilkayaffiliate.com with niche Baby Monitors. I want this domain as my brand.

Now that I am busy with Affiliate Bootcamp training, I want to use the same "brand" or domain to promote Wealthy Affiliate as an economic freedom (or home) for all retirees.

Please let me know if I can keep my "brand" and if the direction that I want to go as well as the target group can go through.

I appreciate your help in this regard.

Thank you

I think that brand actually makes much more sense with a bootcamp related site, so you can certainly use this for your bootcamp.

Just don't try to target both audiences within one website, choose one or the other.

My questions:

1. The websites that we create, are they meant to be mostly blog post? For example, the way I made it to WA was through a blog review about another affiliate marketing platform.

2. I am a paramedic firefighter and a deputy sheriff. Can I use this to target an audience?
Reply
HelenpDoyle Premium
Your website can be what you want it to be. The dividing line is quite fine as blog and post are interchangeable. Just write quality content to attract visitors to your natural friendly manner.

Say you write an engaging post, advising folks what to do if a bush fire threatens them, (yes these can be niches). Within that you can informally promote some safety ideas and devices.

The advise content is a blog and the ideas and devices within it, can be your income focus.

If Florida is similar to Australia you could include fire plans that you do for your visitors! I did my own before licenses were required. I set it all out, talked to the Fire Brigade's area manager and had it approved in half a day. By the time others wanted me to do it, licences were required. Even for a simple one that revealed that a property had no significant risk, $1,000 was the base price.

Good luck in whatever you choose for your niche.

The best way to write a really good review it to start. That is not meant to be funny, really just get something down, get a structure and few photos and express you view of the product. Remember you can always come back and review your posts after they have been published. DO IT.

What specific problem are you having?

If it is generating ideas, think about what you are interested in and how it can help people. People tend to go to the internet to find information. That is your website's job, to provide valuable and honest information. This can be done in a review of a given product, if that is what your intentions are.

If you haven't gone through the training, then do that first. The affiliate bootcamp training seemed to clarify things for me better. The biggest thing you should be thinking of when finding your niche is answer the question Who?, What?, When?, Where?, and Why?

Also, there are several different training pages here in WA on keyword searches. As you go through the training, they will become more clear on how to use keywords.

Hope this helps.

I did it and I'm terrified!!! I just published my first WA review and it was the most stressful thing I have done (okay, a little melodramatic there)! Seriously, it just seemed like you have so much riding on that review and of course, you don't want to mess anything up. Did anybody else feel that way or is just my over sensitive doubting self that is driving up my anxiety level?? :<(

I have finally finished my Wealthy Affiliate Review today and it is finally published.

It has been a difficult journey as it has taken a least a month for me to prepare the content, write it and publish it.

It has been a great learning curve with many obstacles, which I have tried, by trial and error to overcome. I am now looking forward to continue with my training and learning more.

Thanks to Dale for his help with my buttons!

I really have struggled with writing a WA review because frankly, I'm new and as much as I love WA and am so thankful we found each other, I don't want to put anything out there that would be a detriment to the company, or to my future for that matter. I also tend to go on and on so I need to cut my "chatter" down a little or my review will turn into the "Life and Times" of my life!! :-) Good luck and so glad you got it out there!

Ok, so here I am back into Affiliate Bootcamp training. I have a site already BUT I'm definitely NOT HAPPY with my work on it. I have made a ton of mistakes on it... it's my first website.

I have a second site which is my dive site and I'm enjoying it and keeping it going.

I have a new site for this training, this time I want to be on the right track. This is what I have come up with and please tell me if I'm thinking of this the right way... ( want to get back into my Super Affiliate Training with this).

Monica’s direction for her new business is:

“Helping People Become Entrepreneurs”

I want to help people who want to be successful entrepreneurs. This will be my brand and I'll have topics based on this.

The name of my brand:

Work Anywhere Business

Target Niche: Self-Employment (Entrepreneurs)

What do you think or do I need to go back to the drawing board?

Thank you!

Monica

I like this, and I don't think you need to go back to the drawing board here. If you are unhappy with your first website though, I recommend that you create a brand new website and start fresh.

This way, you are going to be able take your experiences thus far and create a really awesome website right from the outset.

Thank you Kyle!

I purchased the domain name 'workanywherebusiness.com' yesterday. Also purchased a theme called Authority Pro from StudioPress.

I couldn't feel the excitement of my first website and didn't even like my targeted audience. I also realized I wasn't using my keywords properly... I hope I do now.

The new site is much better because I know I am an entrepreneur (have had businesses and successful in them) PLUS I love to travel to scuba dive and want to be able to have this business and my dive site work for me anywhere in the world.

I'm going back to following your Super Affiliate Training again. I am working on goals for 1 year and break those goals down into mini-goals this weekend.

I enjoy challenges... so BRAIN it on Wealthy Affiliate!!

Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Hi, I'm a college student and my goal is to help other college students pay off their student loans. I myself am in my first year and I've already borrowed like $5,000 from the state to pay for school. Around 1.5 million students are graduating with debt in the United States and I think some of them could really use some extra cash. The brand name I'm thinking of is "So Long, Student Loans" (got 453 results on Google, not terrible) or "See Ya, Student Loans" (this got only 33 results, which is great I think). Which name is better? Or is neither a good option? Should I add an exclamation point or remove the comma? I'm no genius in marketing.

If you go to Appearance => Themes (and "customize" for your particular theme ) within the back office of your website, you will likely see your home page header there which you can upload an image for.

There are typically many other settings in there as well that you can use to manipulate theme colours, font colours, theme images, logos, menus, structure/layout, etc.

Hi Kenisha3
The niche of your website must reflect the banners you decide to add. Wealthy Affiliate banners promote WA, so your niche would be something to do with online marketing, working from home, affiliates, etc.
Visitors may like what they see on your website and click on a banner you have placed, your banners are encrypted with your own unique code so WA knows where that referral has come from and subsequent commissions are yours forever!!
No need to 'tell', (answer above) , but I am sure you would love them to spread the word about this fantastic opportunity and this fantastic place, Wealthy Affiliates, where members, learn, create, grow and succeed!

The Name went way too long so I need to shorten it Basically Saying Learn how to Start your own website and or affiliate Program with very little cost or Brain Drain. which I desperately need to change, the main thing I’m peddling is honesty straight forward with no “Gurus” charging you the Earth and coming away more confused. yep so I need to shorten it without losing the core meaning I think I possibly missed something I should of maybe ran a search but I know what I was looking for what I believe my Niche Market wants is to blog Earn a Passive income by Affiliate Marketing or run a little shop online they have all done the rounds been sucked into crazy ripp off schemes and they are Wary if they haven’t done it yet they will come around next time,I hope I don’t sound too jaded I don’t know it all but I know my Audience Through Analytics and being one of them for quite some time. Honesty is missing and there’s far too many people calling themselves Experts,Trainers or Influencers and charging people like us the earth to get some understanding.
I hope to turn up when there’s some people about I just spend a lot of time growing my Audience but I’m getting good results so it’s like my unpaid job.
Any feedback absolutely grateful for any thanks Lisa B : )

I am looking to help as many peeps as I can to make money online. Times are a changing, I even see in my biz that I have to supplement as there is more & more competition in my space, especially with the big chains.

Is is possible to just incorporate WA within my own website NOW & do a blog from there, maybe a page all dedicated to WA?

OR should I build a NEW site?

I wouldn't try to incorporate WA into an irrelevant website, but if you can do so with relevance by all means.

I would recommend that you consider it if you can, but ideally you have a website dedicated to a niche relevant to WA and you can decide on this within the target audiences training (which is lesson 2).

My situation and possibly a primary target audience is people living or wanting to live as Expats in Asia. For many the opportunity to work online would be the ideal income. My roadblock is Domain name. How important do you see inclusion of keywords in the Domain name versus in the by line or site description? So many people on the net spruking "Keywords are dead" when the reality is that words in a search bar are the start of any search in any browser. Ideal domains are are usually taken by existing webmasters or entrepreneurs trading them at crazy prices. i do have experience and understand the mix Google use isn not solely keywords, site authority, bounce and other factors are involved.

Hi Brendan, The keyword in the domain name can give a slight advantage but it's not an important ranking factor. For this reason, I prefer brandable domain names that people can remember and type easily.

You will get ranked on the first page of Google by targeting low competition keywords and creating helpful content for your readers.

I want to help military spouses, disabled veterans and their spouses, and everyday disabled or differently abled individuals be able to find a way to make a viable income from home despit the challenges they face every day. I'm not certain if I should actually break this up into two niches (maybe three), or keep it as one. The content would be similar. My husband and I have been together through nine years of active duty (him) and now three and a half years out of the military in the civillian world with him as a disabled veteran. Bringing in money consistently is tough when you're moving at the army's whim or don't have the support to take care of kids so you can work. So many veterans have a hard time finding a job after army life which suits them (they don't know where they fit) or pays well, and the spouses of disable veterans often have to take on the additional burden of making up financial shortfalls.

You should be able to edit it out using a Custome Menu without a home link.

It's possibly because it requires a custom menu to be added for it disappear. See this tutorial here for further reference: Hope that helps!

P.S. the "Inspect Element" is a browser side function - so that is just changing how your browser displays the site, it is not actually making any changes to your website itself (hence why it reverts upon refresh).

I'm struggling with 'direction' - specifically being too generic vs too restrictive.

At the moment, my site is a general 'make money online' website - which has multiple verticals/niches within it.

In the past, I have made a website around just one niche - but this quickly reached its limit.

My site has genuine solutions for people who want to make money online - so possibly targeting it towards 'frustrated' folks who've tried and failed to make money before?

But again, 'frustrated' could encompass the same number of verticals.

Am I overthinking this?

(For reference, my website link is below - I'll remove it if it's considered spam):

Thanks.

I am in the section about creating a wealthy affiliate review.
haven't had much time to see if this works or not but the people are terrific. still working on the bootcamp process. loved the ease of making a website. but that is not long enough to make a review . do i just copy kyles?

Can't copy Jackie. That will be duplicate content and the big google will spank you for it.

Go to google, type in wealthy affiliate review. Read lots of them to get the big picture. Then write your review in your own words. Don't copy even one paragraph because google will know it right away.

The big G will be your best friend if you come up with 100% unique content. Google loves new content.

You can copy the template Kyle uses, no problem there.

Question Re Jaaxy Affiliate Link:

In #3 of this lesson, it says to obtain affiliate link through the "Program Details" tab at https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/share.

On this page there's a table "Your WA Affiliate Links" with 4x links but not one for Jaaxy. I wonder where to find my Jaaxy affiliate link, or need I apply for this separately?

Regards,
Will

On the Jaaxy site, set up your free membership and grab your affiliate links there.

Many thx Andy, I’ll add it to my ever increasing list. It’s amazing how much I’m assimilating here and how much there is to do.
Best wishes,
Will

This is going to be a tricky one as it's only my second day in WA. I am thoroughly soaking up the training though. Like a sponge in water. In all honesty, the main reason I joined was to gain access to the many valuable tutorials and training offered at hand (Which I am heading to right now).

You have access to an unbelievable amount of training here, you an expand your knowledge to any level you want, within any facet of the affiliate/internet marketing space.

Keep us updated with your progress Joel. :)

Thanks alot Kyle for your tireless efforts to educate us and make us feel comfortable here. My question is, newbies like us with no experience years in our respective niche to write in our profiles like you who has 15 years in affiliate marketing which you put in your profile on about me page, what do we do in this case?

Before I landed at WA, I did some looking into dropshipping. I want to include a quick comparison between the two, but haven't found much, apart from sites that want to get me back into dropshipping (to drop affiliating), to help me to steer people away from that and toward WA.
Suggestions? I probably won't need much; just a way to springboard the discussion in this direction, now that I've given a basic outline of the two methods of eCommerce.
Thanks!

Yup, dropshipping vs affiliate marketing comparison can be a way to get more WA referrals for you!

In the video, Kyle mentions possibly using the viewpoint of BBB. The Better Business Bureau appears to be oriented to brick and mortar, not online operations, like this. Though I could have looked it up incorrectly. I entered "Wealthy Affiliate" and "Chicago, IL" (mainly because I don't know where WA world headquarters is at.).

UPDATE: After more digging, I found this:
This business is not BBB accredited.
Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation.

To be accredited by BBB, a business must apply for accreditation and BBB must determine that the business meets BBB accreditation standards, which include a commitment to make a good faith effort to resolve any consumer complaints. BBB Accredited Businesses must pay a fee for accreditation review/monitoring and for support of BBB services to the public.

UPDATE #2: The above applies to BBB in the U.S. In Canada, where WA is based, the rating is B+.

Kyle's list of things you could focus on is incomplete. Everything he says is great, but for me one of the best features is the intangibles. For example, the community is ethical and not self-centered. At the top, it's not hero-oriented, but member-oriented. What's taught is centered on nurturing the selfless part of us, in order to help others--which, in my view, will ultimately attain higher returns, anyway, than an approach that takes advantage of others for quick, selfish gain.
A philosophy like this--which isn't preached, but organically delivered--is one of humility and not arrogance and may be less threatening to the public, scaring fewer off. At least that's what has come through for me.

Hi there, I have a question about my first WA review. Since I just joined WA almost one week ago, I haven't written any post except the About Me yet. I was wondering if I can screenshot other successful members' compensation record they shared in WA as a sort of proof within my review? Do I need to ask for their allowance for doing like this? Any suggestion? Really appreciate~

You have my approval. Lol! You know where to find my results right?

Yes, you can screenshot posts here. That is a great way to offer social validation and what many other affiliates are doing to accomplish this.

It's a little embarrassing because I started this a year ago and it was intimidating so I went to the certification training. It's been a year and I thought I give it a go. I think I'm ready until I have to pick a new niche, directions, and target audience.

So I need help... I want to start with

"Affiliate program that works"

"Journey to be wealthy" as the brand

And I'm targeting the working middle working class that needs an extra cash or passive income. Like myself.

What do you all think?

Great target, nice brand, but you may need to work on niche targeting using Jaaxy. Find something less broad to focus on. For me it's the top 3 percent of affiliate marketers and those who would like to be among them.

Hi want to copy the Motnhly and Yearly goals which are set up on affilaite Bootcamp Lesson 10. I want the goals to be on my Wealthy affiliate page so I can see it everyday when i login. But first I will request you you would let me do it or how is the rule for this?

Sure, you could do this. I would never copy content directly onto your website though, simply because duplicate content will hurt your rankings. But you could take a screenshot if you are going to add this to your website.

Sure, you can definitely head in the direction of promoting WA through bootcamp. Completely up to you. If you need anything at all or need to run your refined niche idea by us, we will be more than happy to help you out. :)

I love to read, learn new things, research, write, and share what I've learned with others. I am grateful for the opportunity to give my interest more significant meaning by working with you guys here at WA building websites and blogging. This material is taught very well through the training. It's not difficult to learn, yet so much potential to improve remains by repetitive use of the techniques. I appreciate all of you.

So I found 13 keywords then accidentally deleted them. So started again and I then reached 27 keywords. If I target each on 27 articles, reach page 1 on Google for them all it says I could get an average of 330 visitors per month. Much work to do until that is achieved, but willing to grind it out. :)

Yeah, that is definitely how it works. As you build out your content on your website and start to gain authority in search engines, you will start to see your traffic cumulatively grow.

Hi Kyle, I am new to this Affiliate Marketing, i dont have a history in this Industry,so what kind of content can i write? I have been a nurse for nearly 40 yrs, that is the reason i choose Health. Is is okay to talk about myself as a health care provider and will be given relevant advise on how to stay healthy. Please advise

That's completely fine. You can "research to write". Nobody starts off as an expert within any niche, nobody. Every expert you see out there started off somewhere and the online world and what you learn here is going to walk you through the process of becoming an expert.

Every expert surgeon started off at one point as a first year student. Every person with expertise within the online business world (myself included) started off with ZERO knowledge.

That should be exciting to you knowing that you can enter absolutely ANY niche you want and become the expert and build a full time income doing so.

Immerse yourself into your niche. People will trust you if you can offer them help and you don't have to reach the "expert" status to have a full time business within a niche.

I have a three-tiered brand direction idea for my website, having been personally looking for a secondary source of income, not being happy with my current job, and searching for a real passive income opportunity online. Is it possible to merge these together into one brand idea? They seem to coincide with being self-employed, working from home...or am I just going to broad?
