OK, awesome. You now have your target audience, in other words, the direction for your brand chosen. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfect" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big PIECE today, your website. We are going to be taking our brand/audience idea and building out a website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate.

We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link within the menu, and you are going to be ready to build your website (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a video walking you through the SiteRubix platform here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

DISCUSS VIDEO: Building Your Website in 30 Seconds, Literally

Task 1: Building Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate revenue!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to less than 30 seconds to get a full operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build ONE FREE websites as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 10 websites (including websites on your own domain). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time and our hosting platform is industry leading in terms of speed, security, and reliability...all critical factors to running a successful online business.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you may own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "brand". In this step, I am going to be placing my brand name into the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "real deal affiliate" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "realdealaffiliate".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: realdealaffiliate.siterubix.com
Title: Real Deal Affiliate

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to ONE theme that has been hand picked for quality, speed, security, and overall theme design.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 4,134 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

You are going to notice that there are many other website features allocated within the SiteRubix menu. I don't want to eat up too much of your time here, but it is important that you understand the incredible benefits of the SiteRubix platform.

I want to help fellow Entrepreneurs receive the dedicated help that I have already witnessed here at WA. I SINCERELY want to educate them to check WA out before they make all of the EXPENSIVE mistakes I've made. My desire is to teach them to REALLY THINK their options through. And to teach them how not to get "HAPPY FEET" through deceptive programs and so-called sponsors by JUMPING INTO all of the false promises, (If They Upgrade) for badly needed help at achieving their dreams.

Yes, that's what I want to achieve here at Wealthy Affiliate MORE THAN ANYTHING!!! How On Earth I Will Accomplish That Is Temporarily BEYOND ME!! But, "I WILL!" God Willing...

I actually own the domain name, jumpallin.com
I'm open to suggestions on how I can incorporate that domain into my vision for helping others not make the Costly mistakes I've made. Anyone?
It currently leads to PLS training webinar site. Thinking of re-routing for my WA website...

I like it, and that can definitely be the direction that you can head. You already have a domain that will work really well with this.

I look forward to seeing your progress moving forward Rolly!

Can I say hello WAzers... For a targeted niche. is it better to use a domain with your own name or targeted keyword domain. So for example. Me i have tons of experience in website optimization for search and performance, I am a total tech geek (rehab next :) ) Do I use my own name or a domain like afasterwebsite

That is up to you, you choose the domain based on what you want your brand to be.

When you choose a domain, you are going to want to choose something that is "brandable" versus something that has keywords within it. The reason this is the case is because as you build out your website, you can target as many keywords as you like within the content (that is how you will rank).

I have created a discussion here outlining the process and what to look for when choosing a domain name: This should help you out here and if you ever want to run any domains by me, simply let me know and I will give you some feedback.

PS. You can host up to 25 of your own domains here within the Premium membership on our state of the art hosting platform. :)

Hey everyone! My names Taryn, and for the past year I have been a procrastinator.
Tossing around ideas in my head, listening to affiliate marketing podcasts. Digital marketing podcasts... Studying blogs, reading into what is going on behind the scenes.
But I have never started. Perhaps I am afraid of failing.
Anyways, I have two ideas currently, can someone please point me in the right direction? Just once!
I light up when I'm talking about affiliate marketing. And all the things I've learnt just on my own. My bestie has a personal business, and I give her ideas daily on how a craft blog, or a YouTube vlog would Sky rocket her sales. In fact, I know exactly what I would do, if I had her skill set. I'd sell courses doing what she does.
But I don't.
I've had many jobs, and have many passions. Animals, my kids, learning, designing.
But I enjoy crafting with my boys.
So I could either start a business promoting wealthy affiliate, because I know the freedom being a successful affiliate could get you, or I could start a niche site with crafts, toys, activities and stuff just for boys (as a mother of 2 of them)
I have experience being a mom, but I don't have experience being an affiliate.
Anyone out there up for chatting this out with me?
I want to start, now - I just want to start right.

Yeah, it is just going to be a matter of choosing your starting point. Down the road you are going to be able to get involve in many different niches, but you want to get the formula down within one first.

The key for you going forward is going to be taking action on your ideas as well. You can have the best ideas in the world, but if you are not taking action then they won't amount to much.

Here to help you out if you need anything else. :)

Hey Taryn...I think a good option for you might be to combine the two into a 'stay at home mommy' type of blog. There you could relate to moms regarding the crafts for the kids and also promote WA as a way for them to make extra money from home.

Again your target would be stay at home moms & dads that want to learn how to make money online. You could literally split the site into two categories 'for kids' & 'for parents'. These are just ideas that popped into my head. Don't over think it, just get started because your site will have different sections to cover whatever topics you want.

I love this idea! I had thought about this too! Thank you so much for the advice, and most importantly thank you for your advice :) I started yesterday and feel like I'm starting to get on a bit of a roll.

Thank you Kyle! Yes... Ideas are nothing unless something is done with them. I decided yesterday to just go for it, and stop at nothing in my way.

Hi Taryn,

There are a lot of successful mom's who have built a business niche around being a stay-at-home mom. That is their niche and you could combine WA with that or any other business opp that makes you happy. If you don't have a passion for it, then it will become a chore.

Mine is travel. My niche market is women for example who love to travel and become a travel agent from home. I can help people in that niche all day, everyday. It's fun and your niche needs to be fun for you.

I hope that helps.

Hi Taryn, sometimes it's hard to realize oneself's own talents and capabilities but I can see that you have great passion. Most of the time we underestimate ourselves especially when we are more considerate of others and put them first which is an awesome trait, but when it comes to ourselves we lack the confidence as we are more conscious of ourselves looking through other peoples' lenses but you are greater than that. As it is said, " a journey of thousand miles begins with the first step" .... sometimes taking that 'first step' is the hardest. take that step on 'faith' then another and you'll be walking forward. I have overcome many challenges in life myself .... LIFE is to 'move on'. Here you have a great team willing to help each and every step of the way. I wish you all the success. BLESSINGS.

Hi Cathy, Yes the niches I've listed are broad. That would depend on how deep your knowledge in those niches. The deeper you know, the more specific you can be.
You can reach me out if you ever need a help.

Im fine with it, but was this literally what he's saying my brand is as an affiliate or is this an example in the training.

The direction I am going to be choosing for my business is:

"Helping Affiliate Marketers"

I want to help aspiring and successful affiliate marketers, and as I build out my website and my brand, that is going to be the core theme of the topics I am discussing.

The name of my brand:

Real Deal Affiliate

Well for this training, he is referring to Wealthy Affiliate. It is a training on how to promote Wealthy Affiliate as an affiliate of wealthy affiliate. If you can't figure out how to incorporate this into your niche, then you would need another site to keep your sites relevant.

I wouldn't copy my brand, I would be original in your thinking. But helping affiliate marketers can absolutely be the direction that you head. :)
