OK, awesome. You now have your target audience, in other words, the direction for your brand chosen. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfect" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big PIECE today, your website. We are going to be taking our brand/audience idea and building out a website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate.

We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link within the menu, and you are going to be ready to build your website (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a video walking you through the SiteRubix platform here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

DISCUSS VIDEO: Building Your Website in 30 Seconds, Literally

Task 1: Building Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate revenue!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to less than 30 seconds to get a full operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build ONE FREE websites as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 10 websites (including websites on your own domain). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time and our hosting platform is industry leading in terms of speed, security, and reliability...all critical factors to running a successful online business.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you may own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "brand". In this step, I am going to be placing my brand name into the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "real deal affiliate" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "realdealaffiliate".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: realdealaffiliate.siterubix.com
Title: Real Deal Affiliate

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to ONE theme that has been hand picked for quality, speed, security, and overall theme design.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 4,134 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

One of the road blocks I faced was creating my first article, wow! It took almost a century. Another one was about the layout of my site. That one took a millennium. I'm proud of it. I'm really excited. I know that I'm growing. I will continue to learn and grow.

I really want to see how I can achieve 100 referrers by December 31. Is this too much of an ambition at this stage? Don't have one now but will look for a way to achieve this.

I can do all things!

I'm with you. It is taking me forever to finish my second article. What intrigues me is how you keep writing and adding to your post after you finish the original post.

I'm trying to achieve the 100 references, too. Much success to reaching that goal.

I'm pushing for the 100 by December as well. Hustle hard and we'll see each other there. Good luck

I also share the same goal and just joined. I do have previous marketing experience but have never properly applied it online. I'm sure there are ways for us to take 'smart' massive action to get those referrals! Rooting for you!

Writing will get easier with time. And don't fixate too much on the layout of your website. Focus on the content. 100 referrals for a new site in such a short period of time is highly unrealistic unless you plan to pay traffic.

Just focus on building a quality site and traffic. Referrals will follow in time. And maybe next year you can reach those goals. But this business is very slow and purposeful. You need to think long term and not quick and fast. Because it's not.

Thanks for the advice Eddy. I figured it would take 'massive action' of some sort to make it possibly feasible. FB ads perhaps?

You would literally need to do paid advertising and have money to spend. And you would actually have to know what you're doing with paid ads since you can lose money really quickly. So it's not really about massive action in this situation. It would be about purposeful action around paid traffic. And I would never suggest that to a newbie unless you have money to lose while learning.

The direction I am going to choose for my business is helping beginning affiliate marketers to be less nervous and more excited about the new direction they are taking in their lives. I want to increase their confidence immediately.

The name of my brand is Affiliate Success Emporium (Your Success is My Success).

I just joined Wealthy Affiliate on Tuesday September 24th and decided to join the boot camp today. I’m excited to be joining something that looks like it is going to work!
I believe I can get to 20 referrals a week sooner than later. Once I hit that, I’ll up my goal.
Here’s to an exciting finish to 2019!

Thanks for your post. I like that you broke your goals down to weekly. I'm going to use that model especially since the year is almost up. I'm going for 15 referrals per week and the 2020 celebration in Las Vegas! For me this is stretch beyond my comfort zone!!

OK, I did it, I finally wrote a review of WA. I was a bit unsure about it, because my chosen niche for my other website is so different and there I write effortlessly, but then I just decided to write the same way, as if talking to a friend, so it's done and posted :-)
Off to the next lesson :-)

I have created the About me page and uploaded it. Also uploaded the Privacy Policy. Yesterday I could see it. Later I made some changes and now I am not able to see anything on the site and it says nothing found. Whereas in the Site content page it shows as Published. How to make it appear on my site?
Can you please help me with this?

It is likely because you are going to need to create a custom menu here.

You can add these custom menus to organize your top menu in any way in which you like, as well as create sub-menus (for themes that will support this). You can also use these custom menus to add within your side widgets on your website (within your sidebar).

Here is a tutorial on how to create custom menus: I use custom menus on all of my websites (over-ride that default menu). It allows much more control and organization....both good things!
