In this quick and dirty video I've installed a plugin called Social Locker by OnePress.
It's free to use with a premium upgrade (just like 99.9% of things out there.)
Viral marketing with this plugin is easy. You lock your content which encourages people to share something, be it a video, a picture, some premium content, or, even an opt-in form on a landing page.
It uses shortcodes like this example...
[Startofshortcode]
THIS IS MY LOCKED CONTENT WHICH IS NOT VISIBLE UNTIL UNLOCKED WITH A LIKE OR A SHARE TO SOCIAL MEDIA
[/Endofshortcode]
What's the purpose of this?
Well, it gets people who really want to see what you've created to actually (like) or (share) the content to social media.
When others on social media (the friend or follower of the person unlocking the content) sees this, they may be inclined to click the link and have a look for themselves, thus driving traffic to your site, possibly getting you more signups, leads, buyers, etc.....
It's a clever little thing, isn't it?
So, that's why it's called viral. Because each visitor who visits and unlocks the content is potentially helping you to suck in even more visitors.
one person could share, and it's seen by another, and a chain reaction can be started like this.
I'm still experimenting with it all myself, but I'm sure you can already envision the possibilities.
Jimbo, Over and out.
Spock to Enterprise, One to beam up....
Thanks for sharing this. I think it could be useful if used right.
