In this short video I show you how to change the size of the font on your site for specific blocks of text.

This is a good skill to have as it is one less plugin you need to have that may or may not cause a conflict with your site.

I believe in you!

I don't use plugin as they tend to cause conflicts but yes some themes give you this option such as the Thesis theme which I use on one of my sites - I can change the font size within the thesis design options tab.

Some themes have this function under Appearance and then Customize.

And with still other themes which don't have this feature you need to go into the themes code and change the font size. This code is found under Appearance and then Editor.

As an example I took a screen shot of the code of one of my sites so you can see what it looks like.

WARNING: If you do not know or are not familiar with code - I have 2 suggestions:

1) Don't touch anything

2) Create a test site install the same theme and then play with the code - this way if you screw things up you have not ruined your live site.

Once you know how to change things then you can make the change on your live site.

Thanks, Leo. I know a little bit of code, not much. But long ago, I learned that if I don't know what to push, keep my hands firmly in my lap. I will do so. Thanks again!

Great training Leo, thank you.

There are some tools available (F12 in IE, right click, inspect element in Chrome etc) that let you click on areas of a page, and let you see what files, and specifically which CSS classes are affecting the display.

If you know what these are, it's pretty straight-forward, as in Leo's video, to change almost any element of your display/theme.

I would suggest though, making a full backup of your site before making any changes... you just never know :)

All the best, Mark
