Hello everyone and welcome to Shawn's Tutorials!

I have been asked by a few people how to set up an e-mail subscription for blogs. I use Google Feedburner myself.
It is very easy to set up and works quite well for updating your subscribers every time you add a blog post.
This tutorial will only cover using Feedburner for e-mail updates. There are other features with this service and feel free to explore them.

So lets get started.

First you will need a Google account. You can set one up here. Google accounts

Once you have this account set up you can now access your feedburner account Here

Once you get your Feedburner account set up you can burn your first feed. Go to your website and open up the blog page. This is the feed you will want to burn.

Copy your blog addy and put it in the Feedburner box and click next.

I haven't even got around to adding an e-mail address capture form to the site yet, does Feedburner have one integrated so that you can create your subscriptions list in the same place?

Did you know you can take that feed and submit it to the feed aggregators which can not only get you a nice link back to your site but if you have great content you can get a lot new subscribers (readers) from these feed aggs.
