The MLM that I work for has for many years had great success in the weight-loss industry. Like google, they have many different products available, but the mainstay product was the weight-loss plan.

Despite the large number of people who wish to lose weight, I still regard this is a niche. Here is the criteria for someone to start the plan:
  1. They need to be overweight
  2. They need to have money
  3. They need to be willing to lose weight
  4. They need to be willing to try this plan
  5. They need to not already be on another diet
  6. They need to be satisfied with the results to continue
The list is actually a little bit larger, but I don't want to bore you, you get the point though right? This is not a universal product, you can't approach everyone, and if you can, not everyone is going to find appeal to this product.

The reason I am using this example over any others is simple. On the next page I am going to show how this company changed it's approach, so that it was able to appeal to everybody.

What's your little shopping portal about? Between the bunch of us, we might be able to come up with something good.

i find when I have a question like "how can i (whatever)?" the best thing for me is just muse on it for a few minutes every day, if I do it enough, eventually the answer will come when I least expect it, like I will have a train of thought or see something and suddenly think "wait, that's how I can do it!" maybe this will help you

Interesting post. A little change in perspective can take you a long way.

You can use the idea (enlarge the pool of buyers, change the pool of buyers without changing the product, with getting it universal being the best) every day.

I mean, you can sell a treadmill as an exercise machine to get you in shape; you can sell it to women to get trimmer legs. It's still a treadmill.

But it is best if you pick things that can be wanted by everybody.
