I have had some incidents with both Pinterest and Twitter recently. I got suspended on both social medias that is related to the same niche website. The Pinterest account was re-opened after I complained, but the Twitter account is still suspended.

This short tutorial will show you how to proceed when complaining to Twitter on the accord of a suspended or blocked account.

Hey Roy,

You said that your Twitter account was "like that for a month". How did you know that it was like that for a month?

Twitter is trying to destroy what are deemed as BOT accounts. Those are accounts that people setup who have no intention of interacting with people who follow them and who NEVER sign into their accounts. They use software to share their info and nothing else.

So, if it took you over a month to realize your account had been frozen that MIGHT have been why you were never offered to use a verification cell phone number... maybe.

Trish, it has not taken me over a month to realize that my account was frozen. I might not have been very clear on this in this training, but I have written that it has been like this for 1 month and that I hadn´t even gotten to complete my profile. This happened on the 25th July, I wrote a blog post on it as well.

What happened was that the account froze in the middle of the process of setting up the account. I had been on the Twitter platform for just a few minutes and was in the middle of filling in my profile with information about me, and the website related to the Twitter account that the account froze.

How can this activity be interpreted by Twitter as a BOT account as you describe it in your answer? It is a real mystery to me. If setting up your account is spammy behaviour, a security risk or any malpractice on the platform against the rules of Twitter, then being on Twitter will be like playing Russian roulette. You will never know when Twitter will trigger the chamber with the bullet and shoot you down. It will be utter madness from Twitters side.

Wrt to verification by phone, I didn´t have a chance to complete the profile with my phone number (ref above).

Explained THAT way, you're right... how is that acting like a BOT account. Agreed.

If this happened to your Twitter account, I'm SURE others suffered the same or similar issue. That is odd.

It IS true that SOME users have experienced a LOT of backlash from other users tagging their social media accounts for whatever reason.

So, technically... if we do not play nice in ANY platform you can bet on our account being flagged by SOMEONE and frozen shortly after.

Facebook has mentioned this a few times, and I believe other social media do similar guarding (for a lack of a better description) of their platforms.

These platforms are far too big to be monitored by only a few. So, they truly DO depend on their users to report back behaviour.

It ALMOST sounds though you lost your internet connection TO you Twitter account and perhaps the scripts thought you were a BOT setting up a fake account... maybe.

It's hard to say, because I don't own a social media platform.

I had an interesting one in the UK, someone complained to twitter that I was entering their business area and I should not be allowed. Yes little old me. I had to chuckle, so I referenced the UK competition act 1998 back at them and it went away. Crazy really but it made me think of Kyle at the beginning of the training that said one day we could be the competition. I think this guy who complained was jumping the gun just a bit..... very useful thank you.

Hi Roy
Oh dear, what do you think you did that Twitter has interpreted as against their rules?
Thank you for sharing how to appeal ... this goes to show even more than before why building our email lists is so very important.
Wishing you a speedy resolution with Twitter.
Blessings

It was the Twitter account related to one of my niches about coffee and beer that was the target from Twitter this time. I hadn’t even managed to complete my profile.
