Autoresponders can be used for numerous purposes both online and offline. They can relieve you of the process of following up manually to every email you might get for information. Plus they operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are relentless in giving your information out when requested anywhere around the world. They are an excellent assistant on your staff. They don't have to eat, sleep, take days off, get paid or take a vacation.

An autoresponder can help put your business on autopilot.

When someone subscribes to your autoresponder they will receive the information they requested in minutes if not seconds. In most instances they will confirm their email after they fill out the form on your web site, confirming that they have indeed requested the information (this avoids a lot of spam complaints). This is called a confirm opt-in system.

Once they confirm, they immediately receive the message that you set up in your autoresponder. Plus, as I will cover later, you can also have it send out other pre-loaded messages that can follow up with them on a regular schedule.

And this all happens like you were sitting in front of your computer responding to them individually. We will talk about setting up your messages in the next lesson.
