By having a website or blog (same thing really), you have full control of your content. In other words, you have the ability to target ANY keyword
that you wish.
Since Google and other Search Engines have become a little harder on
affiliate links, you can avoid this issue by sending your traffic to
content rich pages. Pages that deliver people information based on the "entrance" keyword, and create a wonderful user experience. A happy visitor, is one that you in turn are building trust with, and one that will be much more likely to take your recommendations (the sell aspect).
The problem most people have is their first thought is to PROMOTE to people. That is natural and it is fine if you think "sell" before "help". You will convert marginally taking this approach. However, the most successful marketers are the ones the HELP first, SELL second.
Once you have someone's attention, you can then SELL something, build a list, attain a social following, or generate a lea
First off though, you need to understand the flow of a HIGH QUALITY promotion between your PPC campaign and your website. It goes something like this:
Relevant keyword -> Relevant (and HELPFUL) Landing Page -> Relevant Offer of ANY TYPE
Think about this for a second and think about how someone researches to buy something online.
For example, let's look at the path of someone looking for help with their online business. Someone might enter a search like the following into Google:
social marketing
Then they may get some information from a site, then go on to do a search at a later date for:
how to build a social marketing campaign
This is where you can come in with your page. You could have a page on your website dedicated to "creating social media marketing campaigns" with some helpful and insightful information. Then from there, you could tie in a promotion of Wealthy Affiliate, tying in the aspects of WA that will help them with their social marketing campaigns (websites, social media training, networking, etc).
This is how you operate a highly relevant and successful PPC campaign. Capture people doing a relevant search, deliver the information they are looking for, and potentially make a recommendation. That is the process in a nutshell!
