The importance of using link localisation.

If you have affiliate links from Amazon.com on your website and you're getting traffic from any other country other than the US, you could be losing out on a TON of sales.

Probably only about 40-50% of your total affiliate traffic will be coming from the US and we therefore do not want to leave all the other sales on the table.

This is where the importance of link localisation comes in to play.

For this, I prefer Geniuslink which you can learn more about by googling that term.

Sign up for an account, install the Chrome Extension and be on your way to selling to anyone in the world!

You MUST Sign Up for Each Individual Affiliate Program!

If you want to actually earn any commissions from your localised affiliate links, you must go and sign up for each country's Amazon Associates Program - yes, this means going to each Amazon store for: Italy, Germany, Canada, UK, Spain, India etc. etc. You get the idea.

If you do NOT have an affiliate ID for each country's program, you cannot earn commission from foreign visitors.

Think about it - this is definitely not required, but if we're all working so hard to build an online business, why not do everything in our power to make it as successful as possible?

To me, this is not up for debate. I will not settle for anything less. I want all of my foreign visitors to have a chance at buying something. I reside in Canada, and I would NOT want to strand my fellow Canadian visitors by directing them to Amazon.com. I would want them to be able to go to Amazon.ca.

Same thing goes for any other visitors - I want German visitors to go to Amazon.de, Italians to go to Amazon.it, and so on and so forth.

I hope this has been helpful!

Mike, I am listening to you for the second time. May I ask you if you could speak a little bit slowly next time. Because for non speaking people like me, I have to listen many times.

My apologies. I will try to slow down a bit. I always seem to forget there are non-native English speakers :)

English isn't my first language either!

You are brilliant and very quick thinking, so it is normal that the sentences come quickly out of your mouth. I think Kyle is also a very quick thinking person, but do you remember his videos ? He slows down with intention. Only the last sentence is probably according to his rythm.
I am impressed by your English. My compliment. And thank you for the tutorial.

You can use Geniuslink to send foreign visitors to their respective Amazon storefront, but if you don't have an Affiliate ID for that country's Amazon, you cannot collect commissions.

Hope this helps!

I'm using Amazon One Link. Is that the same thing?

Amazon one link is its separate thing - and different from Geniuslink.

Geniuslink works much better for me because I could never really get Onelink to work.

But if that works for you all the power to you! It's important to localise your links so whatever is working for you to do that is great :)

What is the difference between Amazon OneLink and Geniuslink?

Amazon One Link is Amazon's proprietary link localisation service and Geniuslink is a 3rd party service (and in my opinion much more reliable).

Do you have to put different country Amazon links on you pages then too? or will Amazon figure it out?

I am not sure I understand your question.

As long as you have signed up with as many amazon affiliate programs as you wish (Canada, US, UK, Italy, Spain, Germany, India etc. etc.) then that's why you're using Geniuslink to localise Amazon.com links to any country.

Hope this helps.
