Short Story:

My next-door neighbor never smiles, never replies and never bothers to speak.

Feeling the need to shake his hand and wish him Merry Christmas on Christmas Eve this year, I thought maybe he has no one...And, it will be up to me to say something and wish him well.

So I wished him Merry Christmas and shook his hand. He looked at me quite bewildered as if to say, "What the heck are you doing...I'm not a people person!"

Christmas morning I went outside to see how cold the morning was, and there on the front porch was a gift box with a huge bottle of Crown and two high-ball glasses.

A small card read, from Jim.

My neighbor next door had left a great gift for me and had surprised me beyond surprised.

Maybe it's a feeling or maybe it's something we just naturally need to do..But giving is LIFE itself.

By the way... the Christmas Card I show you here was hand made this Christmas Morning. My gift to you that says, Merry Christmas to all the members here at WA. Wishing you the best of Now...And 2016!

Rick

I never thought of putting giving on the calendar. That's a great idea! The feeling you get when you give is so terrific.

Nice card and I really liked reading the story about your neighbour, very cool.

Merry Christmas to you and your family, and Happy Holidays to all WA members, (whatever you celebrate). :)
