Target Audiences for Wealthy Affiliate

When you sit down and think about all the people in the world that would like to make more money, you could pretty much include just about everyone.

Every person from every little corner of the population could use extra cash and that is really the target audience. So in essence, your target audience consists of the close to 7 BILLION people that live this world, 3.4 of them have high speed internet and would love to have access to a platform like Wealthy Affiliate.

That is a pretty MASSIVE target audience, so within this tutorial I am going to give you a hand with some more targeted examples of audiences and show you exactly how to break them down.

Pretty big and pretty broad right? That was intended to prove the scale of the market that you can promote to, and within this section we are going to explain smaller more niche target audiences and also let you in on some ways in which you can research and market to these audiences.

When many affiliates begin to work on their keyword and industry research for Wealthy Affiliate research, they typically think of the most obvious marketers that are highly relevant to the services offered at Wealthy Affiliate. The main audiences that come to mind are:

  • Making Money
  • Work From Home
  • Internet Marketing
  • Affiliate Marketing
  • PPC Marketing
  • Email Marketing

These are fine and they are definitely targeted, however marketers typically run into a wall when they attempt to promote WA under these keywords as they are very competitive. They convert, but they are competitive.

Because of this, we recommend also venturing into other very targeted niches. I have included a list of these below:

  • Entrepreneur Programs
  • Website Marketing
  • Local Marketing
  • Social Media Marketing
  • Twitter marketing

These are all hot topics and highly related to what is offered within Wealthy Affiliate. Anyone looking for help in any of these areas can easily get help and get training within the Wealthy Affiliate community if you look a little deeper you find that there are even more than the obvious.

These can all be target audiences and I am going to show you how to elaborate on these in a second. However, there are complete demographics of people that should not be forgotten about. Massive groups of people that are looking for opportunities, to create businesses online or to expand their existing businesses online.

  • College Students
  • University Students
  • Retired Individuals
  • Middle Class Populous (large majority of US consumers)
  • Retired Veterans / Disabled Veterans
  • Disabled Individuals (who can work from their computer)
  • New Career seekers

  • Someone who wants to quit their job
  • Franchising/Franchisees

  • Summer Job Seekers
  • Part-Time Employment
  • People seeking any type of employment!
  • Employment Search Engines (JobSearch, Monster,
  • Criminal Employment (employment for criminals)
  • People seeking post secondary education (can target University and College names)
  • Real Estate Investors
  • Online Surveys Takers
  • Related Forums and discussion rooms
  • TV Shows (Apprentice, Deal or No Deal, etc)

  • Affiliate Network Keywords (CJ, Clickbank, Linkshare, Shareasale, Kowabunga, etc)

These are some demographic based audiences that you can target. These above ideas alone will give you enough ammunition to promote Wealthy Affiliate for a lifetime!

With what we have already given you, you could easily scale a campaign to make over $1 MILLION per fact, if you put your effort into just one of these target audiences, you could likely make that with just one.

Remember, the average affiliate referral for Wealthy Affiliate is close to $150. Commissions and recurring revenue add up very quickly!

In the next section, we are going to elaborate on a few of these so you can get a better idea of how to research and find keywords within them, and and how to effectively set up campaigns targeting them.

Sorry on a tablet so my typing may not be good. I am getting the hang of building a website, although I am not very good at it right now. Key words are getting easier. Thanks Kyle for the break down and how to get more by just digging deeper. I think my problem is I am getting stuck with limitations on how many keywords I can store on my websites. I think it limits me to 5 or maybe 5 per page. The other issue I am having getting links to work on this website. Some place give me a coded link that when I add to the website is just that, a paragraph of code. I can't read it and not sure what to do with it or turn it into the add I wanted in the first place. I am asking for help. I am not going to quit but I have hit a wall and not sure how to past it.

Let's say your target audience is "High Salary Employees that Want More" in the training, I am not sure how that will affect the keyword. If you are writing a review about a home business scam, the keyword will still be the same whether this wealthy person is clicking on the link or a homeless person.

Are you saying that "my voice" and the way I write is geared towards that high salary person but a homeless person reading the article may still possibly benefit signup for WA, but I SHOULD have at least a certain "kind of voice" so that the high salary person will LIKE more of my blogs and eventually build more and more trust in me?

What would you feel if a low salaried workman signed up and it clicked. Then that person made a million dollars on 4 promotions?

They way you promote would be your lead to be followed.

Careful how you differentiate yourself.

I'm not clear on the response. I am just trying to get clarification on the training. In my example, I was just randomly picking one of the target audiences. How would my style differ talking to a "high-salaried employee looking for more" vs "Passive income seekers"? My voice would pretty much be the same so that's why I was not clear why we need to be so narrow.

Hello, Rob. I think you can be specific in your domain name and in the title of your post or page. It's up to you, who you want to target.

From what I understand this is what to file your site under to reach the largest audience. This is about marketing research to better promote your product.

Okay hold up, wait a minute. That's a song from some where. :) but seriously. I got confused for a moment. So with this should I be creating a whole new site just for promoting WA and targeting people for it. Or is this also used or applied to my website with my niche or my blog?

People who promote WA have a dedicated site to promote WA. You don't mix niches on one website.

For your niche site, you can however put a little link at the bottom of your site to say something like "Like My Website? You can learn how to build yours too here." and link your affiliate link to it.

Ahh okay. Not confused anymore. Thank you so much.

Just a quick question,,, I am very strapped for time and don't hae time to hang out of social media,,, What do I do,,, do I choose one and "BE" and make an effort there or do I still post to all these pages and then just concentrate on one platform,,, not too sure as I don't have to time to engage on all these platfroms every day

You can choose one and focus on it. You don't have to overwhelm yourself by trying to do them all. Best wishes to your success!

thanks,,,, still trying to work out which one is best to do for my niche

Since I'm going to be promoting Wealthy Affiliate in IM (a really large audience) do I need to have different sites or just focus on using the Keywords to get the exposure. Unless I change my Niche it seems to be wasting resources like the time to fill up a site with content - do most successful affiliates use seperate sites or just fully develope the one.
donyutuc Premium
You can have just one site Louis and laser beam your efforts on it. You do have the option to get a second one later which some venture to doing once the first gets fully-developed contents-wise. Great questions sir!

Thanks,This all helps in the decisions I make going forward, that was my feeling I guess when It starts getting conversions is when I should revisit this at that time.
