I lean heavily on Jay's "21 Minute Ranking Method" when creating posts. Most of the steps on this tutorial are included in there, as it's an excellent summary of what you need to do. Here are the remaining steps:
Internal Links
Once your post is completely written, make sure you include at least one internal link to content already on your website that is relevant to your new post.
This link will encourage your readers to investigate your site further, and may keep them from leaving so soon.
External Links
For external links, I list the URLs for the posts I've used in my research at the end of the post. I don't know if anyone else does external links in this way or not, but it makes sense to me.
If your reader wants to investigate your research sources more thoroughly, these links give him a chance to do so.
Add A Video
If you can find a YouTube video about your subject, you can add it, and it will give your post rating a slight boost. It's not required, but I think readers probably enjoy the chance to watch instead of just reading.
Change In Google Search Console
Be aware that there's a slight deviation here from Jay's post instructions, as the Google Search Console has changed. Instead of "fetch as Google," click on URL Inspection and enter the URL for your new post.
Then you will see a box that says "request indexing." Click on it. Now you have completed the Search Console entries.
One thing I do at the very last is share new post to social media.
Thanks for taking time to put it all down in a straight forward way.
