Site Trust is again, another misleading statistic. For WA purposes, your Site Trust increases automatically by 10% each month. There is nothing you can do to speed up the process, it is purely based on the age of your website. It doesn't reflect how much Google really trusts your site, or how much authority you have. For example, a site that is 6 months old will have a trust score of 60%, whether it only has a few poorly-written posts or whether it has 50 excellent posts. So, in that respect, it is meaningless. Let's move on to the final stage.

Hi Diane,

Thank you for this training post, very useful and good to know.

The point you made about plug-ins is spot on. You could stick to 5, but if they are heavy, not updated regularly etc, then sticking to that 5 wouldn't be of value anyway.

You explained that you have at least 10 plug-ins on each of your websites.

May I ask, what are your top 10 plug-ins and why? Which ones are most recommended?

Hope that's not too onerous to respond to.

Many thanks and all the best,
Cherie :o)

Hi - a plugin should only be added if you have a specific need for it.

So, I am not going to recommend any, as the ones I use might not be appropriate for your site.

Basically, if there is a function that you need, and can't figure it out, there could be a plugin that solves the problem.

Or, if you see something on another website, and would like the same feature, then it could be through the use of a plugin.

But, other than that, you don't need to go searching for plugins.

Thanks so much Diane,
I was a bit worried about the plug in number and how to pick the very few to keep a small number. I appreciate this training it helped not just with the plug in quandry but, there were other places as well. Really nice to know where to place my levels of importance for my site along with what is real world, google, and what is WA suggestions.

Thanks again
Ken

Thank you so much for inviting me here, now it's cleared to me and I know what I'm going to do. Every comment leaves on the site visitor needs always a reply, so it looks fresh and well managed by the site author. And many more realistic ideas to be noted here. Thank you so much for this training and for discovering these secrets, but I still call that secret to success, Ms. Diane :-)

Best wishes to you,

Thanks,
Joyce

Hi Diane, thanks for this fresh look on this topic.
I wonder though: is it really that important if a post has 1500 words, or let's say to compare: an average of 1100 words (sometimes a bit more or rarely a lot more) ?
Honestly, when I read myself a post on someones website that is very long, I tend to not focus anymore if it gets to long and just skip a lot of text.
If then people would skip parts with an affiliate link in it, then we would miss out on sales, no ?
Or are the 1500 words just meant for good SEO ?
thanks,
Lizzy

Hi - if you can thoroughly cover the topic in fewer words, then that's fine. But you do have to look at your competition on page 1 of Google. If all the first page results are 1500 to 2000 words, then that tells you the amount of content that Google thinks is necessary to cover that topic, and show your authority.

Ok, thanks. I tend to see in my niche though, that mostly the products that I am talking about and google the keyword, that the first page is like full of Amazon links, Pinterest links etc. Sometimes Etsy, but I am also an affiliate for Etsy.
I should check keywords from general topics, havent payed attention to that yet, thanks for the reminder !

Thank you so much Diane. The point about Plug ins is the same message another very experienced member of WA was making today. As my plug ins are invariably at 0% that is very reassuring hearing it from another WA veteran. Thank you. I`m told by other members that my site speed is fine.

On another issue, I have found some 404 errors on my site via Google Console. I was struggling to resolve them, even with the training I have found here on WA. So I did a search and added this plug in: "404 to 301 - Redirect, Log and Notify 404 Errors" it tells me I have no 404 errors. Any ideas or suggestions to overcome these 404 errors please?

Best Regards

Trevor
